Hawx Pest Control

A year ago, I was approached by a representative from Hawx Pest Control who rang my doorbell promising safe and effective pest control using organic ingredients like essential oils. I discussed my persistent ant problem, and was assured they had the best remedy. However, nine months later, the problem worsened. Despite multiple visits from their technicians, one candidly admitted that the ant issue was "probably never going to go away" and seemed surprised when I mentioned the supposed organic methods. Fast forward to recent events, when I attempted to cancel the service due to these ineffective results. Not only does Hawx not recognize text messages as a valid form of communication for cancellation—despite using it to press for payments—but they continued to charge me even after repeated notifications of my intent to cancel. It’s troubling that there's a clear double standard in how they choose to communicate. I am now resolving to pay off the outstanding balance and close this chapter, but it's disheartening to witness such disregard for customer satisfaction and transparency. I will conitnue detailing this experience to inform potential customers of what they might expect.

I signed up for Hawx pest control services on May 16th after a representative came to my door. After much discussion and questions with the Rep., I specifically asked the Rep. about the cancellation policy as many pest control companies have no problem canceling within 30 days no questions asked. The rep’s response was the same which was 30 days. I was also given a complimentary mosquito treatment for signing up which supposedly lasts 90 days (complete LIE) for free and if I wanted to add the Mosquito service after 90 days, then I would have to pay for it. Since I signed up for the service, I had to call the company (Hawx) 3 times to come back and re-do the service as I have not seen any improvements, in fact, the mosquito issue was even worse to which they responded that they cannot do anything about the mosquito since I don’t have the subscription for that. I reminded them that the rep. who signed me up specifically told me that the mosquito service lasts for 90 days, and I only took the service 2 weeks ago! They refused to perform the mosquito service. I was very frustrated by the wait time on the phone every time I called so I requested to cancel my subscription to which they responded you can only cancel after 3 days and now you must pay a $199.00 cancelation fee. I reminded them That I was told specifically by your agent that I can cancel within 30 days and not 3 days and the guy told me that he is only following procedure and doing his job and that there is nothing he could do. That’s ironic how some people and companies are dishonest to make money and go to the extent to cheat people out of their hard-earned money. Their business ethics and integrity are in question. I would caution everyone to think twice before signing up for this crooked company’s services. WHAT’S UP WITH THAT HAWX PEST CONTROL?

Scam!!!!! Worst company to ever deal with.. when you try to sign up they will be nice and over accommodating.. 2 months later after NOT successfully doing anything. No pest were killed or removed. They will play games and will say you didn’t sign up for those bugs.. (which is the only reason I started with them) refuse to work with or even show up for the scheduled appointments.. continuously cancelled the appointments and pushed them out further. Can’t take this company. They will also threaten you when you refuse to keep paying their fee for not showing up.

BUYERS BEWARE…. Check with the BBB in your state - they have been reported to them in most states. Also look online for reviews. They are reported as being scammers and fraud. This has been my experience with them. They misrepresented themselves. And after many calls, texts and emails. They will not fix the issues nor take any accountability for their employees misrepresentation of their services, costs etc. I would never recommend them to anyone.

LEFT MY HOUSE INFESTED! And charged me $111 for it without fixing. Signed up with them because we moved into a new house and we're having ants. They said they would send someone out but I had to cancel the appointment due to an emergency. When I did they told me I would be contacted to reschedule. No one called. I called multiple times and left messages. No one called. It's been weeks, no contact. Meanwhile the ants went from a few to infesting every floor. There are flying ants now. They are establishing a colony in our house and our pest control service is no where to be found! I managed to cancel the contract with them. They charged me over $100 for their failure to service my contract what so ever. If you are their customer you litterally have to pay for their mistakes, gross negligence, and misconduct. They didn't even have the decency to to wave the fee as an apology for delivering absolutely zero service and leaving my house infested. Had they done so I probably would have just let it go and skipped writing a review but the absolute disrespect after they completely failed me was too much. I went down and bought the products I needed and was able to get rid of the infestation myself. I highly advise avoiding this company.

A young kid strolls up to my house at 730pm, his name was Eli, he stood in front of my garage (I have a privacy screen on my garage) he could see me but he could hear me......he asked if I was in need of pest control services, I kindly declined but he was persistent, understandably so, its his job. After a couple minutes of talking he said listen, sign up with me today, ill come back next week and we will go over all the details and if you want to hire us great if not that's fine. He takes down my info, has me initial a few things and asked for my card info, I then asked what do you need that for, im not hiring you at this point, he told me it was just to have everything in the system that way when he comes back next week and I decide I want to go with them that everything is in the system and they can just quickly move forward, I said fair enough but I won't be charged or locked into any type of agreement, he assured me absolutely not so I obliged the young guy and he went on his way.....3 days later and I have $50 charged to my card, so now at this point I'm trying to call the company but I literally have no paperwork, no office numbers or anything, so I'm googling their company to find out how I can contact customer service, I finally find a tampa bay number and I call it, 3 different people later and im on the phone with accounting, they proceed to tell me that I signed up for a 12 month agreement and that somebody already came and serviced my house and that they called me, no one ever called me! So my options were to pay the cancelation fee or continue my service (that's what the woman told me) I asked what the cancelation was and she said $50 so I obviously went that route, but now they just $100 off of me for nothing. This may be their MO, because if you think about it, 100 bucks here 100 bucks there, it adds up. Straight up scam artists, granted my kindness for a young person trying to make it in this world overtook my logic and I wanted to give him a chance, but when you lie to me and scam me out of money, I don't care if it's a dollar or $10,000, I become livid. If you are even remotely interested in this company do what I didn't do and use common sense, jump on their website and look at all the 5 star beautiful reviews but also look at the fact that you can't leave a review on there, so it's either fabricated "in house" reviews or they are cherry picking the best review on the internet, either way, stay away from this scamming company!

They were excellent to work with and very professional and had good follow through. I like that the products they use are pet friendly.

Very unprofessional, They cancel the service without my permission and they have my money. I cant give 1 star. I can give below zero rating.
