GLK Construction

Do not use this construction company if you want quality work done! The workers remodeled my shower and did a horrible job. There is a dip in the shower floor where water pools. The tiles are uneven and the shower head came uncemented the week after the work was completed. When we brought up these issues to the owner, he did not resolve them. They also caused air conditioning problems because they did not tape up the vent to keep the dust from getting into the system.

GLK Construction has been a tremendous find. My husband and I have been looking for an honest and reputable company to build a deck off of our second story to replace an old dilapidated existing deck for at least 3 years. We have had a terrible time finding someone that can tackle this task until we found GLK. We are extremely happy with the quality and workmanship of our finished deck but most importantly we found a company that we can trust. Gary, Lewis, and Michelle were a pleasure to work with. They kept us well informed of the status and plans of the project. The final invoice was right within the initial bid, even a little under budget. I highly recommend this company. Without a doubt, we will be using them for future projects.

Does not answer phone calls. A huge problem with the Trades down here.

After the initial visit for the estimate, I was surprised how quickly the work was completed. I had a pool light that had was continually shorting out due, they replace the wiring and the light and it has been functioning fine now. Also, I need to replace the wood on my deck that had rotted out to excessive water exposure. We also 30 sqft to the deck. On the replaced wood, they were able to match the stain of the original. Gary is very professional, will use again for future projects.

Our previous 60 foot dock located at the end of a canal in Fort Lauderdale was dilapidated due to poor quality wood from the original builder and infestation by carpenter ants. The response to our RFQ was prompt and the transaction to start the job was equally expeditious. GLK demoed the old dock diligently working half the dock at a time. They used quality guaranteed pressure treated lumber for the joists and stringers (the carpenter ants will have to find a new home elsewhere). We bought the cedar planks and stain and GLK worked with us to implement the job as we wanted it but with suggested improvements from their prior knowledge. Gary has been doing this since he was a helper to his Dad some three decades ago. In bidding the job I spoke to other contractors but unlike Gary they were not accommodating to our needs. We did the whole job by communicating via email as I was out of the country during the project. I highly recommend Gary and GLK Construction to do your dock and we will most likely use his services in other remodeling projects we have in mind for the future. Went very well, came in on time and on budget, I have used 2 contractors in the area, for different projects, and GLK, was great. He reviewed all of the designs, and actually came in right on price target. I had more problems with the city slowing up the job. But GLK worked on weekends to finish on time. He has been doing more work for me throughout the year as well.

I was amazed by the amount of work that was preformed in under 100 days. They demoed the hole half of my house off added an addition, new bathrooms, kitchen, garage, and new fencing. They showed up every day on time and cleaned the job site before they left. They even walked my dog when I was not home. The best service I have had in this area by far.

I am so thrilled to have found a company that I can trust for ALL or ANY of my needs! They did a GREAT JOB on my new roof,and my kitchen and bathroom remodeling. I had many other companies come by and give me proposals for my roof, and others for my kitchen and bathroom. GLK construction does ALL of these jobs...They had the best price and I only had to deal with ONE company for all my needs! The price included all of these things mentioned below: My kitchen is a dream come true! GLK changed the cabinets, the floor tiles, they put up these beautiful ceramics on the walls and replaced my counter tops with marble! They also painted the ceiling and changed all the light fixtures. They even replaced my refrigerator. My bathroom is Amazing!! They took down all of the old tiles and got rid of the old bath tub, sink and toilet. They replaced the old bathroom window and changed the lighting. Now I have a new jacuzzi, sink, toilet and a bidet. They painted the bathroom ceiling and placed the new tile through-out the bathroom. Everything is updated! I cant believe its my bathroom !! :) With the roof they were quick and very neat. It took them about 3 days. They completely removed the old one and built my new roof. Other companies did not include the base boards in their pricing. Glk removed the old ones, put new ones and even painted the base boards to match the rest of my community's color. ' I give them and A+++ and would definatly call them again whenever I need it GC

It's hard to find honest people these days, especially in South Florida. Our area is inundated with 'get rich quick, quality be damned' contractors and vendors. We've all seen it. Calls not returned (that's your first sign to stay away). Outright lies (that's the final straw). And lots of signs in between. In every dealing with Gary at GLK, I have found him to be a man of integrity and fairness. I believe Gary understands (unlike so many in this area) that honesty and integrity are the hallmarks of a successful business. It's really not rocket science! If honest, integrity, fairness, and solid construction is important to you, you might consider GLK. And no, I'm not a GLK employee or family member. I'm a real customer.
