DUNTARA MOVING & STORAGE

It took a couple of days to get the estimate back once Michael had come out to the house. The price compared to others was reasonable. Duntara did not arrive to pick up our goods on the day they promised. It forced us to rearrange all of our travel plans. They packed up the house on one day and then came back the next day to load. The first truck they sent had hit an overpass on its last run and the part over the cab was bashed in and tapped up with plastic. We refused to put our stuff onto that truck. We had purchased an exclusive truck for our move for an extra fee, meaning there would be no weight charges and the move as guaranteed three day service. The truck arrived two days late causing us to have to stay at a hotel for two extra days. To Duntara?s credit they did not charge us the extra $400 for exclusive service. Promises were made for arrival of the truck over and over again. We were told that the truck had left on a certain day, but upon discussing it with the driver we found out they drove straight through the night well after the time we were told they had left. Very little of what they said was the truth. Most of our stuff arrived OK, but there was some damage to the pieces they packed. We filled out a claim form and sent it in. As we continued to unpack we discovered more and more items that were damaged and sent in another form. We got paid on the first form a total of $63. We held off depositing that check because once it was deposited the claim was closed. After repeated calls to find out the status on the larger of the two claims we found out in January 2013 that they were not going to honor their word and pay for the rest of the damaged good. Our cost to repair the damaged items is about $2,000. We cannot recommend Duntara for any kind of a move. It turned out to be a drawn out, unpleasant and costly affair.

They said they would pack and move in 2 days. Driver was on probation and not allowed out past midnight. They threw most things together, damaging stereo equipment, bedroom furniture, and many other things. I had to buy shipping supplies since they were short. Still finding damaged equipment as I unpack.
