I am beyond disappointed with this company and now regret using them. They came to my home to fix a simple leak and now a large portion of my ceiling is destroyed because of them. They came out 3 times and each time had something different to say yet the same leak continues and now worst. I am so stressed from this whole situation and may eventually have to take them to court as I have more damages to my home now because of them. I trusted these guys and thought I was at peace and in great roofing hands hiring them over other local companies but I am now regretting my decision. My experience have been 💯 negative and a disaster. They do not return calls, texts or emails. This is very unprofessional and I am sure his grandfather (founder) would be very disappointed with the customer service today!

SEE ABOVE COMMENTS. IN PAST YEARS MR. DEVLIN SEEMED HONEST --HAD USED HIM FOR POPPED NAILS AND RE-SEALING WITH NO PROBLEMS AND WHAT I THOUGHT WAS FAIR PRICE BUT I WON'T USE HIM AGAIN EVER. THERE'S JUST TOO MUCH DOUBT IN MY MIND AND TOO MANY OTHER ROOFERS AROUND. I'll get a new duplex roof when it leaks (no problems yet there in that regard). It makes more sense to put the $900. toward a new roof. when a roof if 15 years old.
Description of Work: I had roof repair which was fine--done in 2016 plus another one done a couple of years ago--well done, but I also had an estimate for maintenance on a duplex rental --- just for maintenance. Michael Devlin quoted me a price of $900 for work needed there. which was much higher than in 2015 when he examined that roof and did some minor repairs. He also said price was higher because it was "two roofs" which was "new" to me. I hadn't heard that in previous years when I had hired him to inspect and do minor repairs on same roof. It's a duplex so take that for what it's worth???? I said "NO'". He then countered with $650. I still said "No". I had another reliable roofer look at the duplex roof. He generally doesn't do repairs just re-roofing and has an excellent reputation--I trust him more than Mr. Devlin now. He said it only took him 10 minutes to repair one nail which had popped up and re-seal an area. Mr. Devlin did send me pictures but I couldn't see any problems--must have sent me at least 15 pictures of duplex roof!!! Furthermore Mr. Devlin never showed up on time twice at my house for estimates (did call)--was 2 or 3 hrs. late and it was even too dark to look at roof. Once I can understand but he even asked me when he cancelled out the first time, what time would I like him to come the next day. I said 3 p.m. He did call well after 3 p.m. but didn't show up until a couple of hrs. later. Maybe he's very busy. THE MORAL IS "GET A SECOND OPINION". I JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE THERE WAS THAT MUCH WORK TO DO ON A ROOF THAT HAD JUST BEEN EXAMINED AND HAD MINOR THINGS DONE TO IT JUST A YEAR BEFORE--MARCH 9TH, 2015. AT A [PRICE OF $600. Is inflation that rampant or am I ignorant of roofing processes????? I have to say that I DO TRUST OPINION OF SECOND ROOFER RATHER THAN DEVLIN--TRUST MY INSTINCTS.

You only really see how good a company is when you see how well they stand behind their guarantee. First they were supposed to come out on Friday but never showed, no call. No call until Wednesday with no apology. Devlin refused to consider a new leak had come from the area he repaired. All he did was measure where the two original leaks were on the ceiling citing that those were the areas where the leaks were repaired. The repairs were done on the roof and did not correspond to where the leaks were on the ceiling. I have even recommended this company to others but now I can't. You make more money off of referrals than trying to be cheap with one customer.

The client neglected to state that we are in torrential rains from double fronts moving down from the north & the worker's compensation department frowns upon roofers going up on roofs in rain storms, so we have to schedule appointments around the weather. The owner of this company personally was in contact by way of cell phone with the homeowner, rescheduling the appointment, and he is who addressed this leak, the owner of this company. It is company policy to courteously apologize at time of having to schedule, a voicemail message is saved on company owner's cell phone and homeowner acknowledged he had received the message that was left on his cellphone. These facts can all be documented through cell phone records. On 7-4-2014 a contract was agreed upon that stated 2 leaks, exactly 6' and 10' in from french doors. Homeowner has a tile roof that is fastened with nails. This is called a "nail on" installation, which means there are 2 nails in every tile driven through roof. As tile age, they become porous, water seeps through and runs down nail legs into sheathing, so when you make a repair on a nail on tile roof you remove an area of tile large enough to secure all nail holes in leaking area. Roofing contractors are very very specific about stain location measurements because any nail can leak anywhere on the roof. There is no attic on this house so all that can be done is a measurement, he can't go in attic to spot. When he completed the job on 7-6-2014, it rained the next day and the homeowner called and said there was still leaking and we went back the next day and found a third leak and did not charge a dime more for the additional work. Now almost 2 years later, the homeowner called and said the same work we did 2 years ago is leaking again and when we went over there he showed 2 stains along the bottom of the roof under the first row of tile that would be 1' in from french doors farther to the south by about 5'. This company "photo documents" all estimates and repair work to verify all facts stated. These 2 new leaks almost 2 years later have nothing to do with previous work. If a roofer misses a leak it will leak again next time it rains. This is almost 2 years later in a 2 different areas. The homeowner had no intention of listening to anything we said. He was abrupt, short, and demanded to hurry us out once he realized we determined the new stains were new leaks. The owner of this company explained he would write up an estimate, taking into consideration the difficult circumstances, and would certainly have discounted the new work, but the homeowner must have gone right to the internet after we left so we were notify immediately the next working day. We strive to satisfy all our clients and always work very hard to get through a difficult situation. Judging by the actions of the homeowner and comments on Angie's List I have to believe the homeowner may not have been aware that the contractor is notified of a complaint and opportunity for explanation. We are always open to dialogue, but there wasn't any.

He has worked with us on other jobs. We had to make a hole in the roof for pipes, he did a great job sealing it. It went great. Whenever there's a problem, he comes right back. We have used him over the last 10 years. His grandfather started the business in the 30's.
Description of Work: Total new flat roof. He scraped off the old roof.

His workers arrived as scheduled, the roof was pressured cleaned, sealed and then painted, all in stages over about 10 days.
Description of Work: Mr. Devlin came to my home to give me an estimate, arriving promptly. He inspected my roof, gave me options of replacement vs a sealant coating. For my situation and the roof's condition, I decided on the roof coating. The service was in stages, as promised by Mr. Devlin, and completed within a week of starting the job. He was responsive and professional, I would recommend him to other needing some roof repair or replacement.

Very good job. We had another company come out over and over after they put the new flat roof on and still the roof leaked after heavy rain. We have used Mike Devlin in the past to stop troublesome leaks that no-one else could fix on another house. We have every hope that this repair will hold just as well as the other one his company did. He is a little expensive but it is because of the superior and more expensive product that he uses for flat roof repair. He is good at diagnosing the problem and providing pictures before and after.

Devlin Roofing (Michael Devlin) was professional from the 1st time we met him. He inspected our roof, determined the location of the leak, provided a written quote, honored the quote, was prompt with time, repaired the roof, and cleaned up after the job. His employee was easy to work with too. Also, we asked additional tasks with the job. We needed documentation of the repair including cause of damage, location on roof, damaged area, and the completed repair. Devlin Roofing documented the entire process and validated the cause of damage. Since their repair, our roof does not leak. Our roof was new and under a 10-year warranty and the original company (All Pro Roofing / Teitelbaum's Roofing) did not want honor their contract; we even offered to pay All Pro Roofing to determine the cause of the leak - not just a visual inspection; owner, Steven Teitelbaum, refused. Without hesitation, I recommend Devlin Roofing. We have heard about the company's good reputation for years. Our experience confirmed the same.
Description of Work: Repaired roof leak at my home. Moreover, the company aided us in documenting the damage so that we had proof that the original roofing company (All Pro Roofing now known as Teitelbaum's Roofing, aka J & S Industries) breached their 10-year warranty on our new roof.

He repaired one section and then another section on each visit. The service was good. They were very professional and I was very impressed with his thoroughness and the efforts he made to go above and beyond with the service.

His prices were exorbitant. You couldn't even trim him down. He was three times more than other people. He didn't even give me a definite price but his starting point was 3 times higher than everyone else.

My estimate states that there is a leak in laundry room/garage and appears to be a vent or valley leaking. To repair vent-remove tile around vent, reseal, re-install tile priced at $750.00 To repair valley-start removing from bottom & go up a maximum of 18 feet priced per foot @ $150.00 per foot. I also stated on the estimate no charge for vent if valley is leaking. My estimate states exactly how much the job would cost down to the feet. The prices are in line within the roofing repair industry, which can be verified by calling any licensed & insured roofing repair company. There are two possible areas leaking, and one must be investigated before knowing if it's both as per my estimate. If the vent and the valley were leaking, the estimate states that the cost of the vent was going to be waived. I don't know how I can be any more fair than to do the work for no cost!

They were very prompt in finishing their work. I really appreciate that they came all the way from Ft Lauderdale to do such great work. I have a rental property in which I am not always present at and they send me lots of pictures to keep me up to date on the progress. They sent before and after pictures so that you can the damage that you have, then the corrections that they made.
Description of Work: Devlin Roofing is based in Ft. Lauderdale and they came all the way to Boca Raton to fix my roof. I had two holes that were close together and they only charged me for one hole.

From the time he came out to give me an estimate, I could sense that Michael Devlin took pride in his company's work, and l could trust him to do a very professional job. I had not realized that although we had a long-term guarantee on our roof, the wooden fascia and soffits were vulverable to damage. In our case, the damaged fascia attracted termites which further damaged the fascia in some places beyond repair. Also, Mr. Devlin inspected our roof and pointed out damage from poor work done by our original roofer. Mr. Devlin proceeded to repair the damaged roof. The bottom line is that I feel I can trust Devlin Roofing to take care of my roof. They emphasize preventive maintenance, which I now will have Devlin Roofing do annually. I have learned a valuable lesson.

I have used their services three times now. The roofer came out and did the job. He tends to be a little bit more expensive than some of the other people. He comes on time and I haven’t had any problems with him.

he repaired the roof and stalled the rat screens thevery next day. when he left the job, there was not a trace of him left behind. extremely neat, and we were very pleased.

Mike Devlin visited twice to assess the project and answer our questions. He's very knowledgeable about roofing in general and leaks in particular. His men spent the better part of two days to prepare the work and to complete it. Everything and everyone were very professional and so far it appears as though they were successful in repairing the leak. Mike is also licensed to inspect roofs something that Citizens Insurance now requires. He did that for me as well and was very thorough and helpful in that process.
Description of Work: Devlin fixed a leak in my garage roof. The work required removing/replacing many tiles, replacing the material underneath, putting it all back together and painting to match the rest of the roof.

Excellent - they only do repairs, not roof replacement, so they don't try to sell work you don't need. They even pointed out I didn't need all the work I originally called about, saving me money. Honest in the time it would take to do the job (expected a delay due to the volume of repairs after Wilma - their estimate of time was accurate.) Devlin only works on referrals - can't just call them from the phonebook. I've used them several times, including to finish up and fix the job done by another roofer several years ago. May be slightly more expensive than others (haven't compared) but worth every penny.
