Boyes Gas Service

Description of Work: We called asking for an estimate. Was told they were so busy but if we were willing to pay $109 for an expedited estimate (that would be applied to eventual service), they could do within a couple of weeks. Paid the fee, two guys showed up in mid-Dec. No estimate by late Dec and when I called for the status was told their estimator was on vacation. How nice for him! I waited until mid-Jan to call again. No excuses this time, but was told I would be reimbursed. Nearly two months later, no refund no estimate.

Description of Work: Wanted to see is my 120 gallon tank could be filled and used. To send out a tech to look at the tank is 89 bucks to inspect it and an additional fee per hour "if" he needs to spend more time there.

Description of Work: We recently purchased a home out of foreclosure. The gas water heater, while new(ish), had the distinct odor of natural gas when we turned it on. The gas company came out and found the source of the gas leak (the water heater) and shut off the gas to the heater. We called Boye's based on the gas company's recommendation of providers that could come service our leak quickly. Boye's was pleasant and professional on the phone while scheduling the appointment. They arrived on-time, but it was immediately apparent that they were lacking the professionalism department. The two servicepeople were extremely dismissive when asked any questions and became annoyed when they discovered that the gas company did not shut off gas to the entire house. They shut off the gas, but then basically refused to repair our problem. The issue wasn't terribly complex: a new regulator valve had to be placed on the water heater tank and some portions of crimped gas line had to the replaced. But the two technicians just threw up their hands and said they wouldn't do it. We asked why and they were simply rude and dismissive. They left after removing the crimped portions of gas line and w/o repairing anything. We were also interested in running a gas line into our kitchen, which is being remodeled, for a gas range. The service person, again, was disinterested in even considering the problem. He sighed and hemmed and hawed and wouldn't even consider giving us an option other than saying that it would be "really difficult" (even though the kitchen is immediately adjacent to the water heater and gas line!)
