They did not collect a penny until their crew was already working, which showed me that they are focused on the job and not just my money. They were quite flexible during the job since I did have some unique challenges, and even gave me quite a nice surprise when I saw that they added a tile outline to my pool steps, which looks amazing. I’m very happy with my decision to have Bluewater Pools fix and resurface my pool.
Description of Work: Living in south Florida it is quite difficult to find an honest pool company that does a great job, and I found that with Bluewater Pools. I had 4 structural cracks, needed my coping redone and the pool resurfaced. It was a journey to find a Pool Contractor that did not subcontract the work and understood how to fix these cracks correctly.

+ 2 moreBluewater Pools was exceptional from start to finish! Kevin came out the next day to give me a quote on my job. Not only did he take the time to answer all of my questions, he gave me options for my patio that I didn't know were possible. His industry knowledge was apparent almost immediately. I was given a formal written quote right on the spot (something my previous 2 quotes did not provide) Bluewater Pools ended up being the lowest quote out of the 3 I obtained, even with higher end products. (Travertine vs pavers) Work began, and the guys always showed up when promised. Bluewater Pools does not contract their work out, so you know the job will be done right. Kevin was always responsive and available any time I had any questions and was great to work with. Work was done quickly, and they even cleaned up after themselves! At the end of the project, Kevin was sure to give me detailed instructions on how to take care of my new patio and newly resurfaced pool. He really has a wealth of information! After all is said and done, I can honestly say that using Angie's List to find Bluewater Pools was the best thing I could have done. I previously had bad experiences when choosing a contractor, based solely off an "A" rating. It is so important to read the reviews, and make sure there are plenty of them to get a wide range of opinions. You can see that Bluewater has plenty of reviews to read thru. I now have an amazing travertine patio and a fresh, updated pool with beautiful tile. I am forever grateful to Bluewater Pools for making my pool and patio beautiful, and an enjoyable place to spend time!

+ -1 moreWe had a delay due to the hurricane and then weeks of rain, it took a little bit to get back on track to start my project, but once started everything went very smooth. They went out of their way to accomodate my reqest last minute to add some tile to the border of the steps. The crew who did the resurfacing was great and Kevin was able to repair 2 of my lights that didnt work previously.

I'm not sure but I think our pool pump was a bit more of a challenge than he estimated (he gave us a quote without seeing the actual pump in person, just pictures), but he stayed by his word and charged us the same price without trying to finagle extra money out of us. His quote came immediately, no waiting for days. This company is TOP NOTCH. Great pricing, great service, and honest. You can't beat that. I'll never call anyone else!

+ 0 moreGreat! The work was performed quickly and on time. The pricing was very reasonable. The pool came out looking awesome, with cool blue Diamond Brite and nice new mixed-blue tile. They even throw in the first month of weekly pool service as part of the deal to help get everything up to speed and help with the conversion to the salt system. When it actually does come time to replace my pump and coping, I will definitely be calling Bluewater.
Description of Work: I recently bought a house with a pool. The pool was built in 1982 and had never been re-surfaced or updated, and had been neglected as far as maintenance. A few weeks ago, we discovered (the hard way) that the pool was leaking when it dropped 2 inches almost overnight. I found Bluewater Pools on Angie's List and I'm glad I did! Kevin was very responsive and prompt. He came out to give me an estimate and actually identified the leak immediately during his inspection. Other companies wanted a few hundred bucks just to come look at it and possibly find the leak. I requested a quote for fixing the leak, resurfacing with Diamond Brite, fixing the light and installing a new color changing light, putting in new/modern tile, and installing a salt generator unit. Kevin's price was VERY competitive and reasonable, coming in at 1/3 - 1/2 of the price given to me by another company I found on Angie's List (Cliff's Pools). Kevin is a no BS guy, which I truly appreciated. I originally asked for quotes on replacing some things that I thought I had to do (pump, coping, light housing/fixture). After inspecting my pool, Kevin actually talked me OUT of some of those things, stating that it would be a waste of money. He explained that the pump was fine and I shouldn't replace it until it stops working. He explained that the light housing was in good condition and he could clean it up for re-use, and just replace the bulb and seal. He explained that the coping is very expensive, and that mine is in pretty good condition still considering the age of the pool. Kevin actually talked me into giving him less money, which is the exact opposite of the other company that hyped up all the "problems" I had that needed to be fixed/replaced immediately. I really appreciated Kevin's honesty and straight-forward approach to things. Before, during, and after the work, Kevin was very responsive. I've never had a problem getting in touch with him on his phone and he has answered questions for me even about things not necessarily related to the work he performed (like walking me through getting my new Kreepy Krauly working properly).

+ -1 moreThey were the cheapest price around. They got the job done. I wasn't unhappy. The communication could have been a little better. The prices were amazing. The job was done, it was done fine and as I said he was thousands less than other people. I would say his responsiveness could use improvement. His communication can use improvement. When he says he's coming tomorrow and he doesn't show up a phone call would be nice. They were very professional I'd have to say. I'm not sure if I would use this provider again, for a small job yes, for a big job, no. I had my pool resurfaced. Would I use them for a $30,000 pool resurfacing and retiling, new decking and landscaping? Probably not.

+ 0 moreI have waited over 6 months to write this review, mainly because I wanted to see if there would be any problems. Thankfully, everything has worked out very well and I have absolutely no follow up complaints. It was a quality job. Now about my experience... I met with Kevin at the end of November 2016. He is extremely confident, a good salesman and was thorough in explaining the process. He gave me some good advice about choosing tiles and coping stones. The job was to be finished by mid December which was too ambitious, but not much of a problem for me since I am retired. What I did find frustrating was work not being done when scheduled, which required us to reschedule crews or me just waiting for them to show up a day or two later. I had to rearrange my own schedule because I definitely wanted to be home when the workers were there. Maybe it had to do with the number of jobs they were trying to fiish before year end but I felt that I was basically at the end of the line and not a priority due to the distance from Pompano. To be fair, Kevin or Brian always returned my calls and answered my questions. Some repair work was necessary behind the tiles and around the skimmer, since there were voids due to water intrusion. After completion, there was a minor leak which we initially thought was at the skimmer. Brian came out right after the New Year, checked everything and replaced the deteriorated sealant around the pool light. No leaks since. He also brought the "water letter" which I was having receiving electronically. You need to make sure you follow up on this because it will save you money on the water bill. One strong recommendation I would make is that the 10 year waranty be more specific as to exactly what it covers and be professionally typed on separate company letterhead rather than what is basically a notation from Kevin on the contract. Overall, I am very pleased with my pool. It looks like new.

Description of Work: They drained the pool, under coddled all lines and lights. Bonded all surfaces to be resurfaced. They used diamond brite to resurface. They installed new drain covers. They refilled the pool and balanced all the chemicals. They installed a new gas heater. They installed a new colored light that changes color. They installed tiles inside the pool. They built a slab for the new heater. It included a mosiac compass that we put inside the pool. They lined up the compass so it is correct in the direction. They didn't put it in but they lined it up.

He offers competitive prices and is friendly, knowledgeable and honest. We were so happy and trust his services we referred him to two friends prior to completion of the work. + -1 moreBluewater pools was recommended by one of my local pool supply companies. In doing my due diligence, I sought out several ( 6) different pool companies from Angies List and other companies. I have to say, I was a bit skeptical with Bluewater pools as that their price was much lower than others, so much so that I called Kevin out for a second estimate and to go over questions that I had. I went with Bluewater pools and it was the best decision I could have made. One minor little hiccup, but Kevin was all over it and I am extremely happy with their work. What made it even better for me was that since they have finished my pool, ANY little item or question that I have, I know that I can pick up the phone and Kevin is all over it and taking care of any concern or problem that I have.

+ 0 morePool resurface was A+, nicely done. The travertine installation was OK, and we're still waiting for somebody to pour the salt into the pool and finish the job... Communication can certainly be improved. Lots of promises made by Kevin were unfulfilled. If you are planning to remove something that is already in place, let the client know and make sure they are aware so they are no surprises.

+ -1 moreBrian is a great guy who was attentive and very responsive in replacing my pool pump. I called him late Thursday and he showed up promptly at 9AM Friday when he said he would ! I appreciate contractors arriving promptly and getting right to work which Brian did. In a half hour the pool was up and running and the new pump was much quieter than my old clunker. His price was very reasonable and I am grateful that I have found my new pool maintenance company for years to come ! As a foot note it didn't hurt that he's a Patriots fan either !

+ -1 moreOverall, the experience was good working with Brian - he's knowledgeable and easy going. However I felt at times he was not receptive to input about what we wanted done to our pool and at the end of the day, our pool was going to look the way he wanted. He obviously has lots of experience and perhaps based on those, he wanted to steer us the right way but it not come across that way at times. Maybe it was his approach but we had discussed accent tiles being done one way and on the day of install, I was told it could not be done the way I had previously discussed with him . I would have preferred something in writing detailing what we agreed on so there would be no back and forth on the scope of the project. At the end of the day, we are happy with the work that was completed, it was done expeditiously and we would recommend Blue water pools.. If your style is knowing everything up front, perhaps get something in writing - even if its just bullet points. Also, I chose a waterline tile, thought it looked great in the tile store, had it installed, hated the way it looked but once the water went it, it looked great and came together nicely - Lesson is that you have to really look at the overall finished look and remember, only 2" of the pool tile will show once your pool is filled in so don't fret too much :).
