Eric explained everything he was doing or needed to be done. He was very detailed and professional. He also showed me everything he was doing. He was at my house for 45 minutes.

Adrian, the plumber arrived on time. He was very courteous, thorough & cleaned up after each project. We are very pleased with American plumbing.

They're work and prices have always been very satisfactory. They're responsive and punctual.

Our toilet had clogged and while plunging we saw filth seeping up in the tub and in the shower in the other bathroom. We had guests arriving to the house in under an hour and did a quick search on Angie's List. The dispatcher was charming, efficient, and informative, and the on-call plumber called us well within the time estimated by the dispatcher. He arrived when he said he would and immediately went to work. He was competent, quick, courteous, and professional. He had to spend about an hour working to unclog the drain and he was able to reveal the reason for the clog. The dispatcher and the plumber had warned us that emergency calls cost more than service calls and so we were not surprised when the total came to $254. What was surprising was that the plumber did not seem to have ever heard of Angie's List and did not recognize the coupon for %10 off that we had printed. He promptly called his boss to receive guidance on the matter and was instructed that the coupon was not valid for emergency calls. This information is not on the coupon, nor posted on their listing or website. This is the only reason we gave them an overall B.

I had a plumbing leak that occurred in Feb. 2011. It was a multiple step process but the company was courteous and followed me through the house repairs accordingly. I had to deal with the removal of plumbing items and replacement of those items. I have recommended them to my co-workers for repairs to their homes.

They did a great job and I am very satisfied.

They've been an excellent resource for me. I've used them for many years. They usually come out the next day unless it's something where they have to order special parts. They are very quick, efficient and honest.

He shut off the water since I wasn?t able to reach the shut off valve and didn?t change anything!

House full of overnight guests (7 people). Woke up to clogged toilet with back-ups in two other bathrooms. Blockage somewhere in sewer line leading to house. Arrived within 15 minutes of call. Very, very professional. Solved problem quickly. Would definitely hire again!!!

It was quite good, there was no problems. They are very professional. The quality of their work is very good. They were very clean looking. The were on time.

We have a concrete block house that was built in 1968 so there was some disintegration in the pipelines by this time. Pembroke Pines code enforcement is very strict so Eric and Louie were up in the hot attic for about 7 hours, running the piping through there to comply with code enforcement. They did a great job and cleaned up everything. Next year we will be putting in a new bathroom and we will definitely be using them again.

I think they were ok. My house is an older house and I have lived here for 35 years. I called American Plumbing because I had this drip in my bathroom sink. When they got here to fix it, they found all kinds of other problems and kind of just said what I needed to have repaired. When I asked them to give me a statement in writing so I can have a full description of the work performed and all they gave was a little statement with 2 to 3 lines. They got the job done within 5 hours but I still have this drip in my bathroom sink and that was the main reason I called them. American did clean up well after themselves. I had 3 other estimates and they were the lowest. I prefer paying for a job by the hour and not by the job however they charge by the job.

American Plumbing is honest and they have great service. They were on time, efficient and very polite. I thought I needed a new water heater and they came and looked at it and told me all I needed was the thermostats replaced. I ended up saving half of what I thought I was going to spend.

American Plumbing did the job fine however they did have to keep coming back trying to solve the problem until they just replaced the toilet. The workers were neat, efficient and they cleaned up after themselves. They also were willing to work with me on the price. I am satisfied with their work and I am glad the problem is fixed.

The work was good. They were prompt. They responded immediately to my call and came out within a few hours of my call. Their response was professional and they corrected the problem fairly quickly. They were courteous and professional. They were unable to repair the drain because they didn't have the equipment, as that was not part of the initial reason I called. But they did make an attempt and were honest about what it would cost and what it would require equipment-wise. I thought the price was fair and good.

They did a great job, were right on time and had very fair prices.

Prompted by water bill $600 over norm, I needed 12 apartment units checked. I got several quotes generally asking for $500 just to look property over and nearly the same amount to replace a toilet that had gone bad (mineral deposits under rim). American quoted $200 for the toilet and got the business. They arrived promptly, were extremely courteous and knowledgeable. They did a great job at a fair price. I've finally found a plumber I'm happy to give repeat business to.

Terrible. I think I was over charged and he left a terrible mess in my bathroom! The plumber (Mike) had trouble installing the new fixtures. He cut a hole in my closet in order to get to the tub and shower fixtures. He tracked in mud and dirt in my house and left a terrible mess in the bath room, dirty sinks, tub, and floor. I do not recommend them and will never use them again. He charged me $390 for the labor and $180 for two drain stoppers for the two sinks. The stoppers I purchased did not fit properly.

Everything went well. Adrian did a thorough check, including installing a pressure valve and verifying the pressure drop when the house water was used. He replaced the main cutoff valve at the house (I knew it was old), and inspected the supply line from the city meter. He noticed that the meter was an old style (no check valve), and suspected it was becoming constricted with deposits. While he was at the house, he also checked out the hot water heater which was running out off hot water too quickly, and replaced one of the thermostats.

It was a much larger project than I thought. It took all day. The plumber who came was very friendly and appeared competent. When he left he checked all sinks for leaks and advised to allow several hours drying under one sink before we use it. I did have to call him back since several sinks were leaking. He said it was the turn off valve on several of the sinks but he was able to set them in so they would not leak. He said eventually I would need to replace one of them. He did not have time to do it then and recommended I call for an appointment where there would be an additional charge. The sinks continued to leak and I had to call him back. He made repairs to one sink and replaced two turn off valves. I am not aware of any leaks now.

Since I needed both plumbing and electrical work done (most plumbers leave you hanging with electrical work), American subcontracted an electrician for me. The only problem I had was that I wanted a higher efficiency unit that they could not get in a timely manner so I had to install a lower efficency model.

I described the problem and showed him the ceiling leak. He went upstairs to the bathroom and immediately began working on replacing the defective part. I asked him to fix a bathroom sink which had the hot and cold water reversed. He fixed that problem. I then had various questions about bathroom renovations/potential plumbing issues. He was polite, did a good job and worked fast. In fact, he worked so fast that he did everything in exactly one hour (maybe 55 minutes) which was why I was so surprised to be presented with a bill for two hours (approx $290,which included parts). When questioned as to why I was paying for two hours, the plumber told me that the co. does not charge for drive time and, basically, needed to make the $. I sent him back to his truck two times to write up a bill that was fair, a bill for 1 hours work, plus parts. The final bill was for 1 hr and 1/2, plus parts. I settled for it because I was uncomfortable with having him in my home at that point.

I wasted $250 to repair this toilet the previous week with another company, (they changed some of the plumbing but did not stop the leak). I decided to join Angie's List in the hopes of finding better service elsewhere. I called on Friday and they said someone would be out on Monday. I received a call at 8:00 on Monday morning to say they were on the way. On arrival the man was extremely courteous and immediately set to work. He completed the job without any mess, diagnosed the problem correctly, and the repair looks great. I feel very confident that he corrected the problem and did a good job.

Replacing the main valve was difficult as it was embedded in the concrete block wall. The wall had to be chipped out around the valve and the main water supply line into the house. Copper pipe at the new soldered joint adjacent to the new valve continued to leak after the job was finished. Contractor had to return twice to finally stop the leak, though not his fault entirely as it was difficult to access the joint in the wall to properly solder it.
