American Built-In Closets

I called the 800 number and got a quick response with the promise of a call back. Perry Birman called me back and we scheduled a free estimate. He took a look at both my closets and came up with two designs that were great and needed no major changes. I requested belt and tie racks and he suggested a valet rod, which was a great addition to the closet. He gave his estimate with a $100 angle's list discount and two references. I called back to schedule the job and he took 1/2 the total cost for a deposit. He told me it would take 1-2 weeks to get all the parts in for installation. Less than a week later he called back to let me know the parts were coming in and we scheduled the installation date. Chris and Derran (sp?) showed up on time and did a great job installing the closets. The had to move in the huge cabinet and really took a lot of care to not cause any damage to my property. During the job and after Chris had me take a look at their progress and make sure I was happy with everything. When they were done they cleaned up after themselves which was appreciated. I am very happy with the quality of the cabinets and the installation. The price is fine with me though I found online retailers who sell similar closet designs for less (but this obviously does not include expert installation). Overall, ABC deserves this A rating and I am very happy I chose them to do my closets.

Mr. Birman came, checked, designed, and gave me all that he promised. His men were amiable and did a great job in a timely manner.

Excellent service all around! Mr. Birman arrived at our house with a smile, got right to work measuring and discussing what could be done and what our physical limitations were along with possibilities. He quickly drew out two layouts for the closet which together we enhanced to meet our needs/desires. From call to quote to sign off took less than 24 hours :) His people were on-site within a few days of signoff and showed up exactly on time. Two nice, polite young men made friends with the dogs and got right to work. Since one of our dogs is a puppy that will put anything in its mouth, the installers were very careful to pick up anything that fell on the floor immediately to avoid any issues. The work was done quickly, professionally and to our extreme satisfaction within 1.5 hours! Amazing! The closet looks wonderful and is everything we hoped it would be. Mr. Birman called a few days later to ensure we were happy with everything. A+ all around! Cannot recommend American Built-In Closets highly enough!

American Built-in Closets is a top-notch, highly professional, high quality organization. When we met with the owner Mr. Birman to discuss our needs, he listened carefully and came up with a very functional, attractive, and reasonably priced design. We discussed a few modifications prior to moving forward, and Mr. Birman was very responsive, accomodating, and low pressure whenever we contacted him. The installers were also professional. They did a quick, quality job with good attention to detail. We had spoken with several other closet companies prior to going with American Built-in Closets, and are very happy with our choice in every respect.

Mr. Birman was very nice, courteous and very clear as to what the job would be, when it would be done and what the price would be. He is very punctual and even finished the closet earlier than expected. I would recommend him to everyone who is looking for a quality and well done job.

The work was done in the time expected and the design matched the quotes. My only complaint is that the installer had to remove some of the closet quarter-rounds, which I certainly understand. However, I had just had the floors installed in the entire house at a considerable expense, and the quarter-rounds that were removed by American Closets were not left for us to re-install. Also, when the quarter-rounds were removed, the exposed nails were left! When I called American Closets to report the nails, and to see if I could get my quarter-rounds back, I was told the installer would be contacted. No one ever called me back. Finally I called again, and was told that my quarter-rounds were no longer available. When I explained my concerns, no attempt was made to remedy; no offer made to come remove the exposed nails or to provide me with replacement quarter-rounds.

Their responsiveness and service stood out the most. They did what they said they would do. They were also responsive.

There were lessons for us: 1. The depth of a drawer is the depth of the drawer facing not the usable inside height of the drawer. 2. Drilled holes in particle board need to be painted to look good. 3. Heights should be measured from the height of the hanging rail not the shelf above. BUT There was a problem with a nail going into a PVC pipe that was done by the previous closet builder. I called ABC on Sunday to tell them that we had a water leak. I got a call back five minutes later and they removed the portion of the closet first thing on Monday so that the plumber could repair the leak. They returned that evening to reinstall the closets. Contractors who stand behind their work like ABC did are hard to find especially in Miami.

Nissim was excellent. He was flexible with our hectic schedule. He was a pleasure to work with and he was the least expensive of the three estimates that we received. We remodeled our entire home (kitchen, floors, bathrooms, landscaping, doors and trim work) and he was by far the best to work with of any of the vendors. His work is excellent and we are very happy with our closets.

Perry and his team went out of their way to accomodate our hectic schedule and condo restrictions. They got everything designed and built just the way we had discussed during the initial consultation. The only reason for the B on responsiveness is because the installers had forgotten some of the closet hardware and needed to make a second trip to get it finished at a later date. That being said, if that is the worst thing they have ever done, then the rest of the closet market should just close up shop because Perry has an excellent team underneath him. Don't look any further if you need you closet system installed!

Very satisfied with the level of professionalism, from the design help and recommendations right through to the installed products. It is amazing feeling you get from their products.

They were very good about communicating with me throughout the design process. They were very responsive and they were able to schedule to job right away. The prices were competitive to doing the work myself. The crew who came out to do the installation were very quick and courteous throughout the project.

We had an excellent experience with American Built-In Closets. Perry came out and provided an estimated on the work. Since we came from Angie's list he threw in a few free accessories. Price was also better than most other quotes we had gotten. After we decided to move foward an appointment was setup a couple weeks later for installation. Everyone was always on time and was very professional. The install was completed in about a day. After the install there were a couple of issues with the drawers and with one of the dividers not lining up properly. Perry ensured that someone came out immediately to address these issues. He was very considerate and tried to ensure we were very happy with our purchase. Overall we are very satisfied with the work performed and would recommend them to anyone who needed custom closet work.

Job went very well from initial visit where closet was measured and options were discussed. About one week later, installers completed job as scheduled on-time. Also, received follow-up call a couple of days later to make sure we were satisfied. Used this company because of good reviews on Angie's List and they lived up to reviews.

Perry came out and took a look at three walk in closets. I also wanted a bench and drawers for my son's room which he said they could easily do. He created the design on the spot. We selected the finish of each closet and he quoted us and we ordered the closets and bench. About three weeks later everything was ready and they came to install. They were courteous, professional, timely and flexible, as we were still waiting for new carpets to come in, so they had to make two trips to our house.

They were professional and on-time. They completed the job as they said they would.

They came in at promptly 9:00 am and left our place at 2:00 pm. The crew of two people assembled our two closets and left without any mess in our place. I highly recommend them because now we have a very organized closet. For the first time in my life, I actually love organizing my closet because it looks and feels amazing now.

A terrific experience! Perry returned out call quickly and was EXACTLY on time for the initial appointment as others have reported. We had figured out the layout prior to him coming but he designed the closet with a different approach which made a much better use of space and suggested adding the built in hampers which frees up some space in the bedroom. Had we done this ourselves with materials bought at a home store we should not have the great closet we have now. The day of the install, his serviceman arrived early, did a great job, and left early. No muss, no fuss. Perry called later to check up on the installation and to see if we were satisfied with our closet. We certainly are pleased and glad to recommend him to anyone who wants a good job at a good price with no hassles.

Everything went as planned the job was done quickly and neatly.

Perry came out to measure the space for the two closets, talked to me and looked at all the things I wanted to store in the closets and drew up plans for what he would do for me. He gave me an estimate, giving me a discount for the tearing out the old wire shelving and patching that I planned to do myself (normally included in his service). His team of two came out a few days later to install the system for me. The fellows were polite, on time, did good work, and swept up and removed their trash. The closets looked as I expected them to (white melamine shelving/ metal bars installed on the walls) and I am still having fun figuring out how to best use all the extra space I have. I paid a little more than I would have with another company, but I chose this company because I liked the style of installation (like what I had in another house) and the plan and "feel" of what was presented better. Happy!

Perry was available within 2 days to visit and give me an estimate. He came up with a unique layout that incorporated everything I needed in a unique way that was better than my idea. He was not pushy, when after all the measuring and drawing, I told him that I would have to think it over. I gave him the contract the next day and he volunteered to stop by and pick up the deposit check. The closet was finished and installed almost a week ahead of the original delivery date. The installation crew was very efficient and cleaned up after themselves. They also cleaned all the shelves and surfaces when they were done. I had at least two other companies give an estimate for this job. However, Perry was the only one who had both an interest in my needs and a thoughtful approach to the task. The estimate was the highest I had gotten, but I felt it was worth it. The well thought-out plan, the quality of the shelving and the skill of the installation meant that everything went perfectly.

I am so happy with the work they did. They were on time each day and the finished project is just what I wanted. They explained the whole process and the keep in line with everything. This is where to go for a new closet and an organized space.

This was my first experience hiring a contractor off the list and I am elated! Recently, I have had so many frustrating experiences in an attempt to hire a number of contractors. This experience has served to restore my faith that there are good contractors in south Florida. From the timely response to my initial inquiry to the completion of the work, everything went well. The closet is well-designed, highly functional and maximizes the limited space. The quality of the product exceeded my expectations and the versatility of the shelving (i.e. placement) is an added bonus.

Great! Perry is like no other. He is truly concerned that his clients are happy and will bend over backwards to make that happen. The time he puts into designing the closets is unbeleivable. He personalizes his work and seems to know what the cleint wants/needs. His installers are prompt and do very good work. When we could not figure out how to move the bars in our new closets, Perry sent his guys out right away. He is all about producing a great product and making his clients happy. You will not be disappointed in American Built-In Closets!
