Description of Work: Redid back patio with pavers

Description of Work: A new driveway and add a circular drive. Including the sidewalk.

Description of Work: We needed our driveway pressure cleaned and only the edges and small squares painted.

Description of Work: we needed to upgrade our pool, as it was not redone in nearly 15 years. we also wanted to change the patio from just concrete, to something nicer, and chose 6x12 travertine pavers.

Description of Work: The final product is really nice, the workers did a wonderful job.. | |But along the way, I encountered numerous problems concerning coordination with the owner. Often times he arranged a date for work to be performed and no one would show. I am a pet owner and there were at least three to four times this happened. What was really frustrating was that we were never notified of the changes and my Wife and I were at the house when we could have been doing something else. | |Coordination with his workers appeared to be a problem as the crew laying the pavers did not follow the Building Permit Plans. My Wife and I were at work on this day and upon my arrival I saw the mistake and promptly called the Owner. Lucky for me I was able to get the layout changed to what was in the plan without additional fees. | |Additionally, during our discussion before agreeing to let his company do the job, he spoke to my Wife and I about polymeric sand that when used would decrease the amount of weeds, he even said that we would need 7 bags at approximately $22.00 a bag. I said that we indeed wanted that product. Funny thing is that I learned from the workers that normal playground sand was being used and when I asked the Owner about that he said that it was not listed in the contract. Funny thing is that his estimate that he gave us said that the price was for all materials and labor. So if you do business with this company have a contract that LISTS ALL MATERIALS from how many yards of sand to how many pallets of pavers, how many bags of cement because otherwise you too will be surprised. Be aware that you will be paying for products that might not be used. No refund if this happens. | |Finally, my house suffered damage to the exterior from a bobcat that removed a cement slab patio, in addition to having our cable cut.. He claimed that it was in his contract that his company would not be responsible.. Well it does, but I never saw his contract till the very end as he forgot to have me sign it when I gave him the first payment. | |There you have it. We love the final product but the 3 months it took to complete it proved to be fustrating. | | I must add that some of the delay was caused by my Home Owners Association, learning that a separate permit was required from Broward County Drainage District, and Pembroke Pines Building Inspections for a cement footer that is under the pavers for a patio cover that is to be installed. Finally we lost about 10 days when the Owner discovery that a key 8x8 brick of our pattern was sold to another Contractor (that he thought was put aside for our job). We had to wait for new ones to be made. | |I was able to maintain a positive diolage with the Owner up to the very end but we did have our differences about the polomeric sand that was never installed. During our conversation, I did learn that he was running 25 jobs simultaneously and I feel that this contributed to the delays. In the end I like the final product but it was a very difficult process. I would use a different Contractor if I were to do it again.
