+ -1 moreThis was a bad experience. They still have a wooden step ladder and appliance mover of mine. They were late with delivery both on days and on the time they arrived at our house. Full service move was none existant. The damage to our items were excessive. Some things were packed well and other items were just tossed into boxes. Benny recommended I buy Rubber Maid boxes at Wal Mart for their use, and they could be returned to Wal Mart after use. The Rubber Maid boxes were destroyed. They delivered in the evening hours and basically dropped and left. They did set up one bed. The also damaged a bedroom wall while moving a hide bed into a bedroom. I have contacted the Miami Herald's Action Line and received no response, also two area Better Business Bureaus (no response either) and the Florida Division of Consumer Services who is looking into the matter. Sophie suggested using their services and not pay for North American's name. DID I GET TAKEN!!! Hopefully this firm will be closed.
Description of Work: We recently moved from Homestead to Lakeland, Florida. While pursuing companies to Move our household items, I was contacted by Sophie. She provided an estimate based on another companies itemized list. Her estimate was $6203.00. I told her that they need to look at our house and contents. Sophie stated that she has been doing this work for 6 to 7 years, and her estimate is good and the gun safe, shed items and refrigerator are not a problem. Benny (Warehouse Supervisor) came to our house to deliver boxes and packing materials. He looked over things and made the same statement. ''Not a Problem.'' When Benny returned on Monday, 24 April. Benny began to pressure me to sign blank inventory forms. I finally told him that I do not sign blank documents. On Wednesday, 26 April the price increased another $2647.00, due to the work requiring more packing boxes and time. They had already removed two truck loads of our belongings. I am held hostage and the contract was filled in.
