ORIGINAL - Had numerous and ongoing installation and operation problems with both zone systems. Multiple visits including supervisors. Everyone pointing fingers at the prior technicians or supervisors. Units didn't fit, units leaked, units just not installed properly, programable thermostats didn't work properly, permits not closed out properly. When it was time to close out the permit, they didn't finish the project and the permit expired. They then had to pay a penalty and renew the permit and then the permit was closed out subject to the final closure being complete. With the permit complete albeit subject to the contingency, All Year instead offered to close out the ticket on the outstanding balance without finishing the project closure contingency The secondary zone unit required a dozen visits to get it working properly and then six months later failed due to the failure of the safety switch which in turn caused gallons of water to flood the downstairs. The primary zone still not working properly for reasons that aren't entirely clear but may be related to inadequate returns. Now the electronic thermostat of the primary zone unit has stopped working all together - clearly we're delighted with All Year Cooling and Heating's attention to detail and quality - sorry guys. I am being sarcastic. Price was a good price, but what a lot of head and heartaches - as the install is still not right, and it's impossible to want to go back for warranty support given the disappointing quality and service. UPDATE - We posted the above report and the service and quality grades were significantly poorer. After posting on Angies List, the Manager or owner contacted us to try to make things right. He arranged for his top technician to review the work, and propose solutions to improve the quality of the air system. While some of the ideas to improve the quality of cooling were impractical given the design of the home, he was able to implement some other changes which while modest, significantly improved the quality of cooling. Given the difficulties that we experienced, the Manager/Owner extended the warranty of both air systems. WE APPRECIATED THE FOLLOW THROUGH IN THE END, but wished that this customer care and concern had been exhibited from the onset. Ultimately, we're relatively happy with the outcome and enjoying a cooler home.
Description of Work: Purchased two high efficiency air conditioning systems - Carrier and Trane high efficiency systems complete with high end thermostat controls.

In the winter the heat didn't turn on , it seems that something was not reconnected (minor). Then as summer arrived the air didn't come on (All Year Cooling came to do something) I had a new tenant move in and again about June the air didn't work (All Year came out again to replace fuses or something.) At the time the All Year service man told the tenant that this unit did not cool all rooms because the company installed an inappropriate sized unit. I e-mailed and called All Year regarding this claim by THEIR service personnel with little response as to why their service man purportedly said this .They only replied vaguely that this unit was appropriate. I called Enter the Cool Zone , thinking maybe the ducts were not open, but they didn't even return my call. 4/2012 UPdate on 12/11 I requested tha All year perform a full system check to see why the tenant continues to complain of poor air flow. This was performed and I was billed , but only after contacting Angie's list did I receive a written report of the findings. The report indicate variance in temperature from room to room and duct leaks, etc. It noted that a service tech and his supervisor inspected the system. I decided I had to put EYES on the issue and went to FL to check it out. I will try to attach photo..I found an air filter that does not seem to have been changed all YEAR..when replaced, I set the thermostat to 76 and slept in the back room and nearly froze..

They were horrible. The installers did not know what they were doing. They were not well trained. I would never use them again. We were ready to pay them $900 to repair the job they messed up.

Member I can not understand why you would write this ? AYC did your installation on 4/4/11 The City of Fort Lauderdale passed the inspection permit # 11 040264 on your address on 5/11/11. AYC has made numerous attemps to satisfy your concerns and we even paid another AC company Coastal Comfort at your request $ 1000.00 to correct the after the fact issues with your existing ductwork that had nothing to do with our scope of work. TOMMY SMITH: On another note, the first man that came to my house in Davie DID install the NEST thermometer and that is the only thing that works ok. Please don't escalate this as I don't want to have to have my husband's law firm to get involved. I do understand that you use many different people and they can vary from #1-#10. Unfortnately I got #1's or less for each job. Some employees are not understanding that it is your company that gets the reviews and the problems. As to my son's apartment in Miami Beach which I paid for, at least 3 different people came, no one was able to fix it. You told him to go to a hotel (since it was during a very hot time in September). I have all the bills for the hotel(s) that were NOT reimbursed per your promise. Also the last man to come destroyed the ceiling while climbing in the "crawl space" to try to fix the problem. The Association had it's management company leave him a notice that if it was NOT fixed within TWO DAYS, he would be charged fines. He too needs reimbursement. Thank you! I will be at the hospital tomorrow as my husband is having surgery. Please respond to this and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

The outside unit at my home stopped working yesterday. I called All-Year because they installed it and it was my understanding the unit was under warranty. This was my experience on the phone with All-Year yesterday: The first person I spoke with didn't believe me the unit was under warranty and challenged me to find my paperwork and fax it to her. She also said that even though she was in the service department she was going to have to refer me to the sales department for my problem. I dug out my paperwork which says "10 Year Warranty on Compressor." The second person I was transferred to was a supervisor who told me that even if the unit was under warranty, the warranty only covered the part and that I would have to pay for labor. The third person I was transferred to was a scheduler who estimated labor at "around $600." He also said that I should just get a new unit for around $1,200 instead of fixing the one I had so I could have a new warranty.... Seriously? The tech just left my house. He informed me that the "compressor" is under warranty but the rest of the unit (fan motor, condenser, contactor, etc) are not. Total quote to fix it: $679.00 Shame on me for not asking the right questions when All-Year installed my air-conditioner unit 10 years ago. I always understood the outside unit to be the compressor and the inside unit to be the air-handler. Had I known that the compressor is this tiny little container inside the condenser (the outside unit), I would have never paid extra for a 10 year warranty that turned out to be useless. All-Year Cooling used to be a great company. They were small and had personal relationships with their customers. I own three homes and they installed the A/C in all three of them. Unfortunately, they've grown into a HUGE company that is only interested in three things: money, money, money. I will never do business with All-Year Cooling again. And, after today's fiasco, I will never recommend them again. *** UPDATE *** All-Year had quoted $679.00 for the repair as follows: $386 fan motor $187 two-pole contactor $106 condenser coil cleaning The repair company I used charged me $250 for replacing the fan motor and contactor. All the coil needed was hosing it down with water (which they did). All-Year Cooling is a rip-off.
Description of Work: No services performed. Estimate only. The tech showed up, looked at the unit and gave me an outrageous estimate for a part that I understood to be under warranty.

It did not work the day after they put it in and when they came out to fix the NEW AC unit they said that it would cost over $600 when I just bought it. I was sold a lemon and should not be responsible for the cost to fix it. Now, they will not return my calls.

We found them years and years ago and we are still using them. They have installed multiple air-conditioners for multiple buildings that we have over the past 10 years. The service they did they day before yesterday is part of a policy we have had with them over a long period of time where they check the air-conditioners twice a year to make sure they are functioning properly. We continue to use them because their price is very reasonable compared to other large air-conditioning companies in the area. They are here when they are going to be. We never had a problem a problem with them at anytime no matter what the situation was. The only problem we ever had was with a very expensive thermostat that we had installed and it was controllable over the internet. The company that sold that thermostat was new and we had a little trouble getting started, but eventually they worked it all out between them, the thermostat company, and us. It all worked out very well and we are very happy with the service they provide at this point and we have no complaints about any of the people involved.

I had a horrible experience with them. They opened up the permit of my home for the air conditioner. The permit expired. They did not renew it. I was very dissatisfied with them. The permit has expired a year ago. If they don?t open up another permit, I will have to hire another company to do the work. It has been over a year. I have been calling them and they have not corrected the problem. At this point, I can only think of hiring another company, opening a permit, and correcting the problem. The inspector came for the mechanical and electrical inspection. The mechanical work passed while the electrical failed. They did not correct the problem prior to the permit expiration. They are yet to make good the problem. I paid $7500. It was for the complete installation of the central air conditioning system with duct work. I have made several attempts at contacting them. When I called them the last time, I spoke to a lady. She said she would call me back. I never heard from her again. When I called her recently, they told me that she was no longer there. I have heard every excuse in the book. The air conditioning is working, but the permit has expired. I will not use them again in the future.

Our AC broke and after getting a quote to 'repair' from the people would normally used, we decided that spending another $1200 to fix an old unit just made no sense. The quote we got from All Year was great, in fact it was so low we were a little nervous but liked the price so we figured we would move forward with them. I will tell you there is absolutely nothing wrong with the AC unit or the work that was done. The AC works fine and we know we got a good deal. We had a few little hiccups along the way but they have consistently followed up to let us know they really care about providing great customer service and have more than made up for thew few miscommunications that can happen with any project. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We had an entirely new AC system put in. Everything was replaced except for the duct work.

Everything went well during the ititial process and installation. The unit seemed to be working fine but I have had to have them out twice for adjustments and another time to correct an installation mistake.

Arrive on time Provide me with everthing we agreed upon and even more. Moved and rewired my new thermostate near my return where it should had been located all the time . Never complain. The guys where great. Followed up on any thing I called them on. They took care of all the rebates did not have to do anything. I even refered them to relatives and neigbors. Each one of them recently purchased a new ac package from them and are very happy with the prices and work.
Description of Work: install new ac/heating unit. The trane XL19i best quote was from all year and they did not nickel and dime me with add on's. The price included the unit and the entire install no hidden charges. Very happy with the unit and the install. If I ever needed a new unit again I would always seek a quote from them.

Very good workers for both jobs. Company met my lowest price. I chose them because they could do the install and duct test a few days later. The techs ran into a problem for the duct test. After they made a phone call they were able to proceed with a creative solution. The negative is that when you call you generally have to leave a message. They do call you back though. I never tried to call their general service line so I can't comment on that.

I used All-Year for 9 years. Something changed the last two years--the techs seemed less friendly and didn't explain much. And with every visit, it seems they were wanting to sell me something. On the last visit, the tech said one of my central ac units was about to fail and thought it should be replaced right away. He also brought up the rebates that were available now, but didn't know if they'd be available in the next year. I decided to have another company check it out, six months later. The unit was still working, of course, and the tech thought even though old, it could go another 6 mo. I asked for a replacement estimate, and it was $100 less--and of course, all the rebates were still available. I never felt wary using All Year before, and maybe it's just me, but I'm more comfortable with this other company now.
Description of Work: Had a twice yearly maintenance contract with them, and this was the last visit on that.

We weren't sure why the heating and a/c wasn't working. They examined everything and found a problem with the thermostat and they replaced it. They came when they said they would. They were extremely polite and helpful. The price was reasonable. I would definitely call them again.

My unit stopped working on one of the hottest days of the year. After two other companies came and promised to give me quote (and never did), we called All Year. Not only did they respond quickly. they also were able to do the job within the week. Everyone associated with the installation was polite and professional. I will use them again without hesitation.

Our experience with this company was great. The personnel: salesperson, staff, installers, etc were courteous, professional and efficient. Kevin, in Sales, was prompt in scheduling a field salesperson to come to my home to measure and provide an estimate. Kevin was very helpful and took the time to assist me with choosing the most efficient system at the lowest cost that would fit in my current space. The installers were on time, were professional , knowledgable and neat. A big plus is that they installed the system on a Saturday. Also, the Company assisted with submitting rebates. In addition their prices were reasonable.

We got an incredible deal on the unit, because of all of the manufacturer and government rebates and incentive programs. We got a top of the line product for an excellent price. The work was great the only issue that I had was that they were unresponsive to a permitting issue that came up throughout the project. They did get everything resolved, but I wish they would have been more responsive initially.

The price was right. The installers (Willie Walker & Bruce Harper) arrived exactly on time. They worked efficiently and thoroughly. The new handler was a bit larger and they had additional work to make it fit. They changed the duct work above the handler. installed a new thermostat and checked to make sure that everything was working properly. They cleaned up afterwards. They reviewed a check list with us . We received a certificate of product ratings and a FPL rebate was deducted from the billing statement. VERY SATISIFIED

A very positive experience. Technicians were courteous, knowledgeable, polite and meticulously clean. Calls were returned promptly, the few small issues addressed quickly and efficiently. I feel we received a good and fair price for our new Rheem high efficiency unit, which has already lowered our daily electric useage according to an FPL energy audit. Sales staff were also polite, helpful, caring, non-pushy and knowledgeable in all areas including matching our needs with the right system and available rebates. Although when our AC went out I initially dreaded the prospect of finding and dealing with a contractor on short notice everyone at All Year worked hard to make the experience a pleasure from beginning to end.

installers were neat and very nice, after the installation my wife and I had some concerns and we called and Tom Smith sr.( owner ) called us back right away and we told him of our concerns ,He said he would check into it and get back to us as soon as possible. He called back and assurred my wife and myself that all would be made right .Tom Smith SR assured us also that customer service is #1 and he demands that every customer should be 100% satisfied no matter what he and the company needs to do.TOMsr.REALLY KEEP HIS WORD EVERYTHING WAS DONE TO OUR SATISFACTION IN A VERY TIMELY MANOR WITH TOM GIVING US UPDATES ETC. We would be remiss if we did not mention and thank Greg and Nick who also made it happenWE WILL RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DEAL WITH A HONEST AND RELIABLE A/C COMPANY. Installers had to work around some unexpected problems with space for the air handler. They also had to run some additional wiring. Problems were solved and the installation was completed. Clean up. Overall good job!
