We are an electrical service company with six employees. We have a State License and have been in business for 36 years. We have a minimum service call of $90.00 which includes the first 1/2 hour on the job. Each additional hour is $90.00 billed at 1/2 hour increments. Upfront pricing is also available so you know the cost before the work is done

Prompt ACCURATE estimate of costs (including pulling permits) Punctual professional friendly workers. Work completed in a timely manner We used Al Siefert Electric when we updated our original home about 20 years ago We had no problems of any kind and were pleased that workers showed up on time and projects were completed in the time estimated AND on budget. Therefore when we bought a new home and renovations were in progress we were delighted to find their service is just as reliable as our previous experience. When we recently installed a new generator you'll never guess who we choose to install the service...right! Al Siefert Electric to the rescue once again. If we get any break in FPL service to our home the generator switches over so seamlessly we don't event know it.
Description of Work: Completely replaced electrical service to our renovated home including new boxes. Installed service to new generator with automatic transfer.

Needed an electrician to service a dead outlet and look at a light fixture outside, Siefert Electric came out and quickly diagnosed the issue, replaced the outlet and fixed the light fixture. service was fast and I would recommend them to my family and friends for anything electrical!

Excellent service and quality workmanship. Siefert Electric is personable and provides education about safety.They did great and I would rehire them for the next electrical job.
Description of Work: Had multiple ballasts go out over time and needed lights to come on in my office. Siefert Electric was out to the office quickly, had the ballasts in stock, replaced them, and replaced some bulbs efficiently.

This is not the first time we have used Siefert Electric and we have been happy with all their work. In this case the electrician replaced two outlets in a bathroom we were renovating and was done in under an hour.Efficient, affordable and explained any concerns throughout the entire time.

They sent some guy who was not licensed out there. I refused to pay them. He showed up 30 minutes early and I told him not to do any work until I got dressed. He went around back and started to video tape the lights. I asked him to please leave. I wrote them a letter to tell them why I was not paying. They sent me a young, inexperienced guy who did not know what he was doing. He was just taking pictures on his phone. He was unprofessional. He told me I needed to have my entire yard dug out.

In response to [members name removed] comments, I would like to say that I am surprised that Angie's List would publish this without first checking with us. When we make a service call it is our policy to call the customer when the technician is on the way. Jerimi, our technician, arrived five minutes early to this job. [members name removed] claimed that she had no power to an outlet to the dock, which was verified by Jerimi. Upon further inspection, he found a tripped circuit breaker in the inside electrical panel. When he removed the panel cover, he found a romex wire attached to that circuit breaker going through the top of the panel, through a large hole without a connector. On the outside of the house he found the wiring to be in a conduit going to the dock. Jerimi then reset the circuit breaker and found that the wire was shorted in the conduit. This was apparent because there was smoke coming out of the conduit. Jerimi used his phone to video the occurrence before the breaker tripped again. He explained his findings to [members name removed], stating that he would need to go in the attic and find the splice from the romex to the conductors that were in the conduit. He would then need to pull new wire out to the dock and this would require a second man to do the work. At that time [members name removed] became angry and accused Jerimi of trying to rip her off. Jerimi then wrote up his findings on a job ticket which she refused to sign. I feel we did a good job for the customer and she took advantage of us because we found the problem and she refused to pay. She is now on our No More Work Customer list.

Description of Work: I called AL late on a friday night. I had no 220 power... now air conditioning, no stove, etc. He said, I will certainly come out tonight if you need me but I think you are describing a problem FPL will take care of . Here's their emergercy number. Call me back if you need help., I took his advice, and FPL got my 220 power running by 1 am that evening. I think Al Siefert performed an extraordinary service.. he answered his phone on a friday night, when many wouldn't, gave me great advice, and gained my good will from his service

It went very well we paid them in 3 installments and all the people we dealt with were very professional and on time. You pay a little more but it was well worth it and I would use them again and recommend them to anyone needing electrical work.
Description of Work: They changed our electric to 200 amps we had 125. Supplied new conduit from new meter to utility power pole. Changed electricity from overhead to underground. Installed 30 amp 250v power inlet box for generator for 50' of service. Installed mechanical interlock for power inlet box. Installed female cap cord on supplied cord. Re-feed water softener from new service. Re-feed sprinkler from new service.

Quality top to bottom. Explained everything upfront, including pricing. Set up appointment that day and came on time. Technician was friendly and professional. Solved all my electrical problems and gave advice and pricing for possible future electrical issues, which he explained to me thoroughly.

Description of Work: On one circuit in my house, power was intermittent. Lights and outlets would work sometimes, not other times. After checking the situation, the electrician said he would have to conduct a diagnosis procedure that would cost $300. This was in addition to a $50 fee (to come to the house). He corrected the problem, and it took two and a half hours to locate and complete the repair (it was a loose wire nut in a ceiling fixture). I thought that a more reasonable fee would have been $100/hour or a total of $250 vice $350. I won't use this company again.

When we use an upfront price we give the customer a price to do the work.This case involved trouble shooting a problem that was caused by someone else. We would not have charged more if it took longer to find the problem.We feel that this is better than a time and material. This customer knew the price and had the option to decline the work

Charging $50 for an estimate is not the way I compensate vendors. If you can't estimate a job for free, find another line of work. In any event, such vendors don't work for me. The job went to some one else.
Description of Work: Siefert wanted $50 to provide an estimate for my job. Not my style. If you're in business, giving (not selling) estimates is part of the deal. I don't pay for estimates.

We charge a dispatch fee of $49.95 which we explain to the customer before we come out. The $49.95 pays for the man and the truck to get to the job. We then use an upfront price before doing any work.

THE ELECTRICIAN THAT DID THE WORK FOR US DID A GREAT JOB. HE HAD TO REWIRE PART OF OUR HOME TO MAKE THE FANS WORK AND HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THAT HE WAS GOING TO DO BEFORE HE DID THE WORK.
