AIR CONDITIONING BY SPEEDY INC

We were getting ready to sell the house.

We just moved into a new condo so we had them come and service it.

I would definitely recommend him. Of all the years I've used him I have had no problem with him.

To give you an idea of how bad my experience has been with this contractor, I rejoined Angie's List after my account expired just so I could write this review. I don't want anyone else to have to go through the same experience that I had. Mike, who I am told is the owner, came out to my house to replace an A/C unit that wasn't working well. He told me I may as well replace the entire unit since I will spend far more to keep it going over the next couple years. I agreed and had him replace it. The total cost came to $4.6k for a 3.5 ton unit. I am now told this is on the higher side but not terrible. At this point I was satisfied even though I paid more than I probably should considering he didn't bother to pull a permit or install it up to code as I found out later. He gave me a two year labor warranty and 10 year parts warranty. He also promised to come back out after a couple days and install a new air intake vent since the one I had wasn't big enough. Mike never showed again and I forgot about it since the unit was working at that point. When the winter rolled around, however, I discovered the heating didn't work. I was never able to get him out during the winter but since this is south Florida, heating isn't really a big issue. Again, I forgot about this issue until the unit stopped cooling air less than than a year after being installed. This time, I was able to get him to send one his incompetent workers out to my house to take a look. The guy was unable to determine the cause of the issue and promised to return in the morning when it was light enough to take a closer look. He never returned and I never got a phone call. Mike later told me that he fired the employee the day after he visited my house for reasons unknown to me. He said he would send another out to my house and fix it under the warranty. A few days later, a couple more incompetent employees showed up at my house and claimed my vents weren't working properly and blowing air into my attic. Never mind the fact that the air was blowing out my vent just fine, it was only hot and my attic was 90 plus degrees and they said it was 72. They also told me that the heat didn't work because the guy who installed my thermostat originally wired everything incorrectly. They fixed it for me but not before they dropped the thermostat on the ground destroying it. I then had two other independent a/c contractors and an FPL energy audit conducted to see if mike was right. He was wrong. It had nothing to do with my vents and all to do with my improperly installed a/c unit. My attic was actually over 90 degrees and my A/C ducts looked perfect. I have now called mike at his office for two months and he keeps delaying any repairs. I could keep listing my issues with this company but odds are you have decided not to use him at this point. Now, I am looking into legal action and going after his license for not permitting the job in the first place. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to fix/replace your a/c.

Before contacting AC by Speedy, we had been working with another company who had fixed our compressor only to have it kick the bucket a month later. After calling said company back to repair, they claimed that we needed an entire new AC system for $5000. Not happy with this, I asked around and came into contact with AC by Speedy. They came out immediately and discovered that we did not need a new system and they were able to get a new compressor in that afternoon. Considering it was the middle of July in South Florida and I was 7-months pregnant, I was very happy to have ice-cold air and not have to empty my savings to get it. I highly, highly recommend them. :)

I was more than pleased with the level of professionalism and quality of work that this company showed on the work I hired them to do. This company was very efficient doing their work. The price was very reasonable and also they do not charge after hours so I think they are an A plus. I highly recommend them.
