I have made a number of moves in my life and career, but never have I experienced such an unprofessional and inconsiderate moving company. In my recent move from Florida to Michigan, I read the on-line reviews and determined Affordable to be a suitable company to manage my relocation. After initial contact, I received numerous follow up sales calls soliciting my business and offering in depth explanations of the services provided. We decided on a date for my move. Subsequently, a number of phone calls and e-mails (agreement) were exchanged confirming my move date. Based on the agreed upon date, flights were booked to and from Florida, arrangements were made in my high-rise for freight elevator availability, and a closing date on the sale of the condo were solidified. One day prior to the scheduled move, I contacted the company to confirm timing and was informed that my move date had been changed due to observation of a ?religious holiday?. I immediately called the sales person and was told he knew nothing about it, but he would call me back. My call was not returned, but I managed to contact him again later in the day and was told that the date had indeed changed. I asked how my move was scheduled and confirmed by contract on a date that the company knew in advance was a religious holiday? No answer was provided. Aside from the inconvenience, there were significant costs involved in changing flights, etc. The move was rescheduled to the following day. I advised Affordable that the packing and move needed to take place early the next morning due to freight elevator availability. The next day they arrived late allowing us only two-three hour elevator access. Fortunately, the building management was cooperative even beyond the 5 pm regulation that all service providers must exit the building for the day. After the move out, I was provided the option to choose date(s) that I would prefer my goods arrive in Michigan. I chose a date approximately two weeks out as the earliest date available. One week later, I received a call asking if my goods could be delivered on a Saturday, four days earlier than my selected date. When I said ?no, I won?t be at the new address, until the date originally provided,? I was asked if I could change my plans, as they didn?t know when they could reschedule the shipment to the area. I asked that I please be provided with a new delivery date and never heard from anyone again. I called the sales person on many occasions and could not get a response to my question. The week of the original scheduled delivery date, I began calling both sales and dispatch to no avail. The sales person told me that he had ?just spoken with someone from dispatch and someone would be calling me any minute.? After repeated attempts to reach someone, the sales person stopped answering my calls and didn?t respond to voicemail or E-mail. On one occasion, I blocked my phone number and he answered immediately hanging up when I said my name. Dispatch voicemail also went unanswered. I eventually was able to contact a lady in dispatch who said she would look into it for me and advise me of a delivery date. She also advised that, although she could see my pickup information in the computer, she did not have a ?Long Distance Information Form? and one needed to be complete and in the computer before they could arrange my delivery. I told her that I completed and signed that form at the time of pickup and had a copy in my possession. She didn?t know what happened, but she would send me a new one to be completed prior to any shipping date being assigned to my goods. At the risk of never seeing my household goods again, I completed the form again and returned it immediately by E-mail. I didn?t hear from anyone again and initiated another series of phone calls to dispatch. I finally was provided a delivery date. The day before, I received a call from the driver asking if he could delivery my goods that same night around 6 pm. I told him that I was not in town nor would I be available any day at 6 pm to begin a move-in. He advised he would see me the next day at 7 am. They arrived after 10 am. Prior to beginning to take one object off of the truck, they required that I pay the balance owed in cash or money order. Meanwhile, I had already paid them the majority of the cost of the move upfront. The movers were pleasant and worked diligently to complete the process. They witnessed the terrible job of packing and damage to a number of my goods. Lampshades were not wrapped nor protected and thrown in the bottom of boxes under heavy items. The wardrobe box did not have hanging bars so clothes still on hangers were thrown and in the box. A wooden bookshelf was cracked, etc. etc. I continue to unpack and am not surprised at the condition of anything any longer. I am relieved that this nightmare is over! I?ll hopefully choose wiser the next time!

I was referred to use them from a colleague who said she had use them before so I went with them. From the moment they arrived they did a walk through of our place that we were moving from and started right to work from there. They shrink wrapped all of our dressers, tables furniture. Right then I felt comfortable with them and believing that they knew what they were doing. They got everything into and out of the truck with no hitting of my doors or walls which I was afraid of especially at the new place. They reassembled our beds the same way that they took them apart and they were completely done moving us in a little over 5 hours. Terrance and his staff know their stuff and I will let anyone that I know that needs to move know about them.
Description of Work: Did a full move of our furniture and items from Coral Springs to Pompano Beach florida into our new home
