Very unresponsive and poor customer service. I explained I work full-time and if I was scheduling an appointment I would have to take time off for an estimate for accordion hurricane shutters at 2 p.m. during the week. I was promptly home by 1:45 p.m. By 2:30 there was no phone call nor did any technician arrive. I called the main office and the receptionist explained the technicians were on another call which was running into a problem and there is no guarantee or estimate when or if they would arrive on that day. She explained they need to work safely and if it takes longer there is no control regarding appointments and that it was "my choice" to wait around till 5 (their cob time) with no guarantee they will show up. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I rescheduled another estimate for a Saturday at 9 a.m., where she confirmed they would be available. Again, same outcome. No show and no call. Again, called office and I received the same exact explanation. When I asked why no one placed a call to me, the customer she explained technicians are not given their prospective customers a phone number. This is absurd. Every other shutter company arrived within a reasonable time per the appointment and were in touch when they were on their way. I strongly do NOT recommend contracting with such an unreliable complany! If they cannot be counted on to conduct an estimate then clearly they cannot be counted on for any other issue.
Description of Work: I contacted this company for an estimate in April 2018 and they advised they were too busy to call back in June, which I did.

We've always had steel hurricane panels that we would unstack and hang when necessary, As my wife and I got older and the kids moved out, my wife pointed out that with just two of us old folks, we'd need a day or two to hang these shutters. With the kids here and being a little more fit, it used to take about two hours. Time to upgrade. Our neighbor had his windows and sliding patio doors replaced with hurricane glass and I asked about prices. When he told me just the patio doors were in in the $10,000 range, and the rest of the house would double the cost, I went looking for alternatives. Much time consuming research later, I decided on accordian shutters, based mainly on cost. Protection made easy enough so that one person could close up everything in fifteen minutes. As far as level of protection, I believe the Miami-Dade certification ensured our safety. I was not yet a member of Angie's so I looked up another review-type website for info. A Plus Mega had excellent reviews with only a couple of complaints. A Plus had responded to any complaint with a satisfactory explanation. I wasted no time and called. Voicemail promised a quick callback. Within the hour, (and this was around 9PM), Rudy Guevara called and set an appointment for the next morning. At 9AM Rudy showed up, made friends with my dogs, and we sat down to discuss business. He brought samples of his product, demonstrated how they operated, options for inside or outside locking, color choices, and he mentioned required permits, and ,of course, cost per sq. ft installed to code. Spent another half hour measuring all openings while telling me a little of the history of A Plus. When he was done he gave me the price of everything included in the job. Only the Permit fee would be added on. I gave him a partial payment for materials, we shook hands and that was a done deal. It took a couple of days to have the shutters manufactured and two weeks to get the Permit approval. Two days after the Permit was okayed, the three man A Plus Mega crew showed up with a load of brand new hurricane shutters. After introductions and a walkaround to make sure everything was ready, the boys unloaded the truck and started to work. Franco, the crew chief, assigned work to Solano and Joe, and all three got to it . These guys had well used commercial grade power tools, levels, and assorted hand tools, and worked alone or together as needed. Periodically I left my cool house to walk around outside in the humid heat just watch these three pros at work, offer them cold ice water, and check on progress. Rudy stopped by, checked things out and put some time in working with the men. At the end of the day the work was mostly complete, and Franco operated the installed shutters making sure I was happy and understood the mechanism, the locks, and any minimal maintenance. By then, Joe and Solano had gathered their tools, removed any debris and the crew left. Next morning A Plus arrived, got to work, and finished the install. No problems, no issues, no mistakes. It was done........or so I thought. My lovely wife came home and after trying out all the shutters, requested the patio doors all have inside opening locks instead of the exterior locks that were used. In addition, she was unhappy with one window which she felt had too much play when closed. Called Rudy. Next day, the crew was back. No problem. Installed interior locks, re-installed the loose shutter. No charge, and assured me that if there were any more issues they would be remedied. The shutters have been up for several weeks. When the kids brought the grandkids over, everybody wanted to close, lock, unlock and reopen and secure the shutters. The four and five year olds spent the afternoon doing that over and over with no help from anybody. They managed to lose two sets of keys, but, happily, that still left me with over a dozen sets. City Inspector examined the install and was pleasantly surprised as he pointed out the excellent caulking done, and, more importantly the Tapcons used to secure the shutter frames to the wall exceeded the minimun required by 30%. He also praised the shutters' enamel coating, and overall professional installation. And so I am very happy with everything from start to finish. You need accordian shutters?
