Quick Electric Service

It is an audit, not a whole house inspection. they check about 30% of the outlet and the circuit panel. I don't mind this. this is not why I am giving B grade. *The good: for a low fee, they helped point out problem with my electrical systems, something I had no prior knowledge. I find this valuable. * What improvement I like to see: - One of the two tech were little tough, from way he talk to the facial expression. Even if you have to fake it, be pleasant or neutral will help. don't know if it has to do with the fact that I asked him to stop and take shoes cover before walking into the house. -The person talked rapidly with technicial jargon, and seemed little patient to explain. I had to repeatedly remind him that I have no konwledge in home electric and asked for clarification. Thanks God, the second techician that accompanies was nice, and willing to explain to me. - The person was in hurry. he said I was squeezed in for this appointment. That's is not per my understanding. I was willing to take an appointment out for 2 weeks out, and I wasn't told that at the time I scheduled the appointment. - Would be a plus if you make a report in computer writing, not hand writing you had out of the walk through audit. I give a -B rate because I don't think the person intentionally does this. Otherwise it would be a C or D.

My overall experience is very positive. They are friendly, professional and skillful. The price quote is also very reasonable. Likely I will call them again for some of the repair works.

Nick, the owner of Quick Electric, and his helper, Dave came out on a Monday to do the inspection I ordered from Angie's list. I have recently purchased a 1977 Mobile Home and wanted to be sure the electrical was OK and would support my 'hobby' of quilt-making. He discovered that most of the front of the home was on one circuit and clearly would not do the job for me. In addition, most of the outlets were no longer grounded and there was no GFIC outlets in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room. They came back in two days to do the work. It was more extensive than they had originally thought, because the wiring was so old, and the original installations were sub-standard. I was extrememly happy with the result. Nick and Dave were wonderful to have in my home - I left my door unlocked for them to enter and they were there all day while I was at work - that's how much I trusted them! I came home around 4pm and they were still hard at work. They told me about a plumbing problem I had under the mobile home that I wouldn't have known about otherwise (had that fixed the next day). They installed new smoke detectors/carbon monoxide detectors in the proper locations, as well. I can't imagine any other electrical work I might need, but if I do, I will definitely use them again. I work with electrical engineers and I asked one of them if what I was having done was overkill and he assured me that Nick was doing the right thing for me. That eased my mind, since I did not get multiple estimates for this work.

Our house was built in 1973, and they came and inspected and found some things wrong. They wanted about $6,000 to fix some of the things. I did some research to see if I could find something cheaper but I haven't gone much further from there. They were very polite and courteous, I just haven't gone forward with it yet. I'm going to connect with the city to see what really needs to be done

I never heard from the company?. I called the day they were supposed to confirm a date. The guy who answered the phone said he would be calling all the people who took the deal on that day - to wait to hear from him. He didn't give me a chance to identify myself in order to make sure he got my request?. (This is the first time I tried to use the Angie's List website). He never called.. He was supposed to have called on January 6? today is the 11th. continued: He called January 14 and asked if he could come by immediately. I said no, we had company and plans for that day. He said he'd call back. That was the last I heard from him

The provider checked major electrical systems - main and sub panels, outlets, stove wiring - of my old and never-renovated house. They made recommendations based on the urgency of repairs, presented some options, and gave reasonable estimates. They also checked the newly installed water heater and made recommendations to bring it to code. I am happy with Quick Electric service.

I was very displeased with the service I received. The electrical work had to be redone by another electrician. I asked to have an outlet in one room checked out because it sparked...it still sparked when they left. A new electric box was installed and was not the correct box. It was not updated and did not give me enough electricity for the additions in my home. Everywhere work was done... as mess was left for me to clean up (both inside and outside).

I will provide an update on their work once it is completed. But based on their responsiveness for following up and scheduling an appointment, I would not recommend them. UPDATE: I finally spoke to Quick Electric on January 9, 2014 after their last email on December 18, 2013. They left a message on January 5, 2014, but their voicemail box was full so I could not leave a message. When I spoke to Quick Electric, the person was upset because I gave them a D rating for responsiveness. After discussing why I gave them this rating we scheduled an appointment, but the earliest appointment was not until mid-February. After scheduling my appointment I read some of the other reviews and found that others have had a similar experience. Based on my conversation with Quick Electric and some of the reviews I decided to cancel the work and request a refund for this Deal.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine. It was just a quick check. They went down a little list and gave me a little printout, that was it.

Left detailed message to see if they could they could complete work. They never called.

Went very well, they even fixed a current problem, which took them less than 5 minutes.

A representative from Distinct Designs came out to talk about plans for redoing my patio. Over 4 months and several messages later, I have never seen plans let alone had the work done. However, each message was responded to and they were always very courteous.

They looked very professional and they're work was as clean as they looked which is rare these days. Dave & Larry finished job early salon was bright and shiney in record time.Its not often you use a company that exceeds your expectations but Quick Electric did!!

Wanted to rewire garage and replace subpanel

I purchased the Big Deal and filled in the online form right away and waited to be contacted. After about a week I got an email thru Angie's list asking for my phone number. I responded immediately. After several days and not receiving a call, I left a voice message, another week goes by, then I called him and finally was able to connect and get an appointment for Nov 4th at 8am. The morning of the appointment at 8:25 he was a no show so I called and asked if he was on his way. He said he was in San Jose and totally forgot about my appointment (we are in Oakland)! We set up another appointment for that same day at 5pm as I had plans to take my dogs to the beach. We get home at 4:30, and they pull up right after us, so there was no time to use the restroom or feed my dogs because they were a half hour early! They seemed to know what was what about home electrical but the whole nightmare about the appointments and the fact that they walked into my home reeking of marijuana totally turned me off to ever working with them again!

Interesting service provider in that they do not have time to do anything!

I called this provider numerous times and his mail box was full, or he just wrecked his car and couldn't talk, or he was in the middle of a job, ? etc., etc., etc. He did return my call twice but could not commit to a date for service. I tried a few more times to contact him to no avail so I gave up. $49 down the drain. This has no happened to me twice with Angie's List "deals." Providers offer "deals" then they get swamped and can't handled the load of jobs. Lesson learned - do not be suckered into "deals,"

We bought this deal back in July of 2013. We had to call them at the time to schedule only to find out that they would be on vacation of six weeks. We called again to schedule and the appointment was set up for October 25th. They called the day before to reschedule and it was set up for October 31st between 9-10. They did not show up and did not even call. I called after 11:00 A.M. to cancel the service. I requested our money back, but he said I had to go through Angies List to do that. This is absolutely the worst outfit that we have ever dealt with via Angies List.

requested the offered service and vendor has not responded. Also had angies list attempt to find another contactor and they were unable to do so. Was told that a refund would be processed in 7 to 10 business days on 9/30/13. Still waiting for the refund to be processed.

They provided quote for electrical stuff related stuff and/or upgrades that needs to be done but I feel complete details and any other alternative was not provided (the same that I received from other electrical contractors).

Despite at least two phones calls and three emails, the provider essentially did not provide me with a written report as promised to my home in Henderson, Nevada. I paid for services NOT provided, since he never emailed nor mailed me a report of the electrical problems concerning my Piedmont, CA house. I must assume he never did the analysis.

Been trying to book since July. Made appt on 7/12/13 @ in afternoon, called @ 10 to tell me he was on his way, which I could not do. Tried calling several times, either not there or told to call back. Took today off from work again had appt @ 3:00 never showed up.

They rewired the whole house. It was supposed to be $36,000 but ended up being $55,000. It ended up being more than I expected. The owner was a little too pushy. He said I should have a circuit breaker for the dishwasher. An LG appliance technician was on the phone with the owner regarding the dishwasher and the owner started arguing with the technician. The technician hung up on him. It seems like we were duped. We should have looked around more.
