 + -1 moreOn contacted this company based on Angie's List reviews. Unfortunately, they were not able to visit premises to provide an estimate. Nor do they provide for annual maintenance contracts. They suggested I visit their premises and bring pictures and size of area to be services, than they would make suggestions. As such, my comments are not a reflection on their work or cost. Rather their were unable to provide services I needed.

 + 0 moreExcellent! Pat's will honestly steer you to plants which will grow well in your area. I had been wanting to plant a certain type of azalea, and although they were perfectly willing to get me the plants and sell them to me, they cautioned me to be careful since my house is located in an area known to have a higher water table and the azaleas I wanted don't do well in that area since they don't like their roots to be wet. I appreciated the advice and asked them for alternatives and they showed me many other choices which were similar and we found one which is doing very well!
Description of Work: We relied on Pat's to advise us on plant selection/landscaping for our new paver patio. They spent time with us showing us multiple options for shrubs and trees based on our input as to how much time and effort we wanted to put into the landscaping as well as our desires for color in the summer months. As a busy family with 4 kids, we didn't want plants which needed much TLC. They set us up with a landscape plan which will look beautiful year round and after the initial months of extra watering and care, won't require too much upkeep. All the plants were extremely healthy and after 4 months in the ground, they are all growing well. We prefer to use local companies instead of the Big Box stores and have always found Pat's to be extremely knowledgable and helpful.

I called back and asked them to look at my magnolia trees while they were there to give me their opinion if they thought the trees were too close to the house. They said they would get to the house over that weekend and then get back to me. I haven't heard from them since.

Description of Work: Purchased 3-20' Queen Palms at $125 ea. + delivery which I believed to be a very good price. Had my landscaper couldn't manage the trees. Called Pat's for install service and they fit me in next day eeven though they had a 2 wk backlog. I believe I was mostly lucky because the crew said that they were working in the vicinity. I still give them credit for finding a way to help. Note: install cost as much as the trees. The install was very professional, and the restoration of damages from their backhoe was left in good condition.

 + 2 moreQuick and efficient. The trees are still thriving.Pat's products are a bit more expensive than purchase at a Lowe's and Home Depot (hence my grade of B on price). However, you get what you pay for. I trust their work entirely. They provide good advice on landscaping and are knowledgeable about what will grow and what will not in northeast Florida. When they make an appointment, they stick to it.

 + -1 moreI called this company after getting the name form Angie's list. While working in my garden, I broke through a main sprinkler line. Water was gushing out of the ground and I had to cut the water off to the house. I was frantically looking for someone to fix my sprinkler before we had to go without water for the rest of the day. I got a recording so I left a message explaining the situation. They never called me back that day. I guess the work was not "big" enough. I did get a call back two days latter. Perhaps if I had a large landscaping project they would have been more receptive. I ended up calling a guy who was recommended to me by another landscaping company I called.
Description of Work: No work performed, they did not call in a timely manner.

 + -1 moreI consulted them on different types of sod and ways to install. They were very helpful and recommended an installer for me who worked out very well. They made a special effort to deliver the sod ahead of schedule. Sod is doing great after 2 months.
Description of Work: I bought a pallet of sod from them which they delivered. Their recommended installer worked great. We had to get additional sod because my estimate was low.

 + 0 moreThe landscapers were punctual and worked very hard to complete this large job in one day. The "boss" stayed with the project and ensured that everything was planted as required. The plants were spaced evenly and carefully for the sun and soil requirements of the particular species of plant. The area was left neat and not one cigarette butt was found. A thorough explaination was given as to the watering needs of each type of plant. My backyard was transformed from an ugly, weed-infested dirt field, to a beautiful paradise, thanks to Pat's nursery.
Description of Work: Two orange trees were planted and mulched. The back area around the screened porch was completely landscaped with a variety of palms, grasses, bamboo and plants. This area was cleared, planted, mulched and outlined with river rock.

 + 1 moreGreat work by the Pat's Nursery staff. They arrived on time and removed an existing tree and replanted a four trunk pygmy palm in it's place. They cleaned up as they worked and did a follow-up 30 days later to make sure the new tree was thriving.

 + 0 moreI was short and had to order another 2 pallets but Pat's would not be able to get me the product as quickly as the competitors. I had to make an order with another company and the quality from the competitor was spectacular for the same amount of money.
Description of Work: I ordered 10 pallets of sod. The quality was skeptical as I laid it down, thin slices with little soil and some thatch. I was afraid that one pallet was going to be a total loss because the pieces were so thin there was barely any soil. To give credit, the sod had been down for a month now and is doing fair to good.
