John arrived promptly and explained what was wrong and what he needed to do to correct the problem, a problem which was caused by a previous contracter. John went to work very efficiently, carefully explained what he was doing and why, made a couple of recommendations to extend the life and efficiency of the door, the springs, and the automatic opener. His charge was very reasonable and he guaranteed his work unconditionally. Gessner is highly recommended by everyone in the Fleming Island, Florida area. He is a local businessman whose outstanding reputation is built very much on word of mouth endorsements. We found him to be very personable, professional, and HONEST. His wife is the office manager and is also very personable and efficient. We will definitely use Gessner Garage Door again. He's the best!

I found Gessner's Garage Doors here on Angie's List after my house took a lightening strike that knocked out both of my openers. When I called to schedule the repair, Sara was very helpful in aiding me to decide which new garage door openers I wanted to replace the damaged one's with. She found me a pair on Sear's website that were on sale & had all the bells & whistles which I picked up from Sears the next day. (Gessner's does not provide the new openers) The following day John showed up as promised to install them. I was very pleasantly surprised with the time that he took to explain all of the functions of my new belt driven openers as well as the overall workings of the entire garage door assembly. By the time he finished, you could barely hear the garage doors open & close that had been so loud before. John is a true professional, honest & a genuine nice guy which seems to be increasingly hard to find lately. I will definitely use them again & would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends. (and no, we're not related) :)

John arrived on time and knew exactly what the problem was and made the necessary adjustments, he also provided me with a new garage door opener and set my car to open my garage door automatically.....I had lost the original opener, and I had changed out the key pad - but could not adjust the car's garage door button to make it work properly. He lubricated the hinges and checked out the operation of the garage door mechanism. He was finished in less than 1/2 hour. His father had installed the original opener and springs many years prior - so I wanted to have the work done by them.

I certainly know a lot more about the workings of a garage door than I did before. I am very happy to have found this business and will certainly use Gessner Garage Doors again.

the gentlemen that came out was very nice!! He answered all of our questions and even explained what he was doing and also gave us really great advice to keep the spring better for longer. He came out exactly when he said he was going to and was very polite and we had great conversations! He is also very fast!!

John was on time for the appointment as scheduled. Worked efficiently, enduring all my questions with patience and ease. His work included installation of new garage door sensors, while some others don't do this. I wiil utilize his services again if needed.

I called Gessner Garage Door and had them come out to look at and repair our garage door that hadn't been used for six months, John Gessner came out promptly and did a thorough evaluation of the door and components. He replaced the Geni-Trolley and oiled the garage door. It works fantastic! He was so professional and knowledgeable and pointed out some things to look for in the future because of the garage doors age. His price was so fair and I will be using him for all my garage door needs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND...

This is the second time I have used Gessner Garage Doors. The company is extremely responsible and professional. My garage door opener died again after I spent my own time and money replacing a motherboard. I called them up and explained my situation on Tuesday. They went online and told me the current deal at Sears and suggested I purchase a Craftsman an d they would be out on Thursday to install. I did a little opener shopping but went with the Craftsman. Kudos to Sears because I ordered the opener on Tuesday and it was delivered on Wednesday. Mr. Gessner arrived as scheduled, replaced the garage door opener and did a full preventative maintenance cycle on both doors. I can tell how much quiter the doors are from both inside and out. Then, he took the time to show me how to reset and program the openers, he helped my program my wireless wall opener, and he showed me how to program the Home Link in my car to open both doors using the car opener. I had tried several times to do that and gave up in frustration. So, now I have two quite doors, a new Craftsman opener, and my car's home link is being used instead of garage door openers. How cool is that! This is the only company I will use for garage door service.

I have never had such prompt and courteous service. I called and left a message and my call was returned within the hour. Mrs. Gessner asked me a few questions about my garage door and quoted me a price over the phone. Mr. Gessner arrived the very next morning when she said he would. He explained everything he repaired and even replaced a missing part on my door opener (at no cost, which is unheard of these days!). He tuned up the door and it works better than ever. No more creaky sounds, just smooth rolling. I can't believe that someone would grade them a F without even having them do a repair. Totally unfair in my opinion. I wish all my household repairs could be this fast, easy and accurate. Will definitely recommend them to all my friends. Hooray for Gessner Garage Doors!!

I found this company on Angie's list and a few others. I called Gessner based on the comments from other members. My wife also called other company's for a quote to replace both garage door springs. We had time to obtain quotes because only one of my two springs was broken. This meant that I was able to manually raise and support the door in order to back my vehicles out of the garage. Gessner Garage Door had the lowest quote. The office said they would arrive on the next business day. My wife called the morning of the expected day they were to arrive. She was told that they had one stop before us, and that it should be around 11am. My wife called them at 11am for the status and she was told that the service tech was delayed and it would be later that afternoon before he arrived. I work in the service industry myself and I understand that unexpected issues can pop up and take longer to address.I was not there when he arrived, so this is my wife's account of the service we received. Mr John Gessner was a very nice man. He apologized for being a bit late, but his service and attention to detail made up for that. He replaced both springs and checked the overall health of my door and opener. He lubed the parts that needed attention and gave my door a clean bill of health. All for a very fair price. I will use Gessner again for my future garage door needs.

Called Gessner Garage Doors after seeing review on Angie's list. Liked the idea that this was a local business. Very responsive to my inquiry; came out same day and replaced broken spring so that I could get out of my garage that day. Very reasonable pricing. Professional and friendly - would recommend.

They were extremely helpful on the initial call. They were able to assess my needs based on my description, gave a quote (which was accurate), tell me where the current best deal on a new unit was and schedule the work promptly. They came out, when they said they would, and did the work. They were careful, deliberate and clearly skilled. A+

John diagnosed, removed and installed a new garage door opener for us. He is very thorough and went above and beyond in our opinion. He purchased a new garage door opener (Sears Craftsman) for us, which included an outside keypad, which we didn't have before and installed it for this incredibly low price. We highly recommend him for this type of work!! They are a local family business and we chose them for that reason as well as the great reviews he received on Angie's List! Thanks John!!!
