CREATIVE DESIGN SPACE

I loved the entire team! They had great ideas on how to maximize space and make the outdoor kitchen flow with the rest of our house and backyard. We love using it!

Likes: 1. Love the new space. The quality and work of Creative Design Space was great. 2. Cindy Cook, the designer of the space, was punctual and listened to what we wanted in the space. 3. The crew that worked daily was very professional, nice and explained things along the way. 4. The construction area was always left clean. 5. The design was good and 3D renderings really allowed us to see the design. Cindy even took the time to create drawings of the pool area (as I was worried what a vertical pool in backyard would look like compared to horizontal), but I wasn't have the pool done at this time. Dislikes: 1. Pavers over existing concrete patio - paver company did not use sand (compacting material) before placing down pavers. As such, they wobble a little and required 3 applications of sand grout between pavers. I hope this wont be an issue long term. 2. I specifically asked Cindy if having a travertine backsplash behind the grill would be cause smoke to fly back into the cook's face/stain the tile, and was advised this would not happen. Both occur. 3. In framing in the firepit area the crew dug two temporary trenches for water drainage during the process. The holes were not repaired and this killed my grass and left a noticeable 4-6inch trench line in the grass that I have to repair. 4. Everything is piecemeal with the construction process - i.e. - had to extend electrical outlet for lighting to the pergola. Electrical was not included in the work. Irrigation - I have my backyard being transformed (softscapes to hardscapes) and I have to hire a separate company to handle changing sprinkler heads (if they contract with the granite people, paver people, etc., why not get a sprinkler company and electrical as well). 5. Firpit Cover rusted almost immediately. Not for nothing, but I shouldn't be told by the crew manager that "you get what you pay for" when you specifically put this in the designer's hands. If I knew the firepit cover would rust immediately, I would have chosen a different model. Overall, I love the quality of the work and the people that performed the job. This company was pricey, but the quality is there and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a backyard makeover.

They were excellent. They listened to what we wanted and looked at what we had existing. They had a great plan and some good ideas. They really picked some nice tiling and accent tiles and things like that. They were very knowledgeable.
