John was fantastic!  He knows the area extremely well and showed us around the island.  When we decided to seriously consider a move, we told John what we were looking for and that to move we had to have all of the boxes checked.  He listened.  That's right - he listened.  A home was coming onto the market and he let us know prior to it's advertisement.  We were able to get into the house that day and made an offer.  Before we left town, we were set.  

The mortgage process was very difficult for us.  My partner is self employed which complicates the process.  John stayed on top of the paperwork for us, making sure we didn't lose the house because of some error on our part.  This allowed us to concentrate on getting the paperwork together.  He communicated with the seller and the lender simultaneously and kept us in the loop!  We had such a hard time when we first arrived.  We were in a hotel, living day by day, waiting on the lender to check the box.  John offered us a room!  He is super!

We finally got the loan worked out and headed home.  When we arrived, John had left us a wonderful Welcome Home gift.  I was so surprised!  I knew it was heartfelt becuase that's who John is.

I contacted John by telephone from my home in Ohio in January 2016 regarding a home for sale in Florida.  John had no idea who I was, but he immediately treated me as a valued client.  I gave him the details on the property in which I had an interest and a list of questions I had about the property.  John said he would get the answers to my questions.  He called me back immediately with the answers to my questions.  There were two (2) offers already on the property.  Since I was 800 miles away, I asked John if he could use his smart phone to give me and my fiancé a video tour of the property, which he did the next morning.  Based on the tour and John's professional evaluation of the property, I made an offer and it was accepted by the sellers.  A week later, we were able to see the property in person.  John was there when we toured the home.  John had been accurate on everything he said about the property and we were very satisfied with our decision to buy it.

From that point on, John handled everything for us.  He managed all of the paperwork, arranged for all of the necessary inspections,  provided options for services from insurance to grass cutting, and got answers for the numerous questions that we had for the present owners.  John even got us valuable information regarding things we had not considered.  All of this was done long distance.  After the closing, John secured the property and made sure the things that should be "on" were on and those that should be "off" were off.  He continued to actively monitor the property for over a month until we were able to return to Florida.

We now consider John Raker a friend.

John was professional and on top of his job with all the required documentation required in this process and organized all the people and companies required to facilitate the sale of a home in a very efficient manner. The closing of the home went as originally schedule, without a delay or incident. I would highly recommend John if you're looking to buy or sell a home in the Fernandina Beach area.
