Dave Gravley was my primary contact for the job. Gravley has 10 salaried employees but uses subs for larger jobs/steps. I believe, other than the hangers and the scrappers, I was dealing with Gravley employees. Even with sub contracted hangers, a Gravley supervisor was available, spoke English, and got things started. These guys were prompt, professional, and polite. They even didn't seem to mind me watching over their shoulders and asking questions. We had a couple stops and starts with the bead guy which was understandable with the Thanksgiving holiday. However, David was always in contact with me throughout the entire process, checking in and orchestrating the next step. I got the impression that they didn't do a lot of basements because just about all of them asked how I happened to have heard of Gravley. I was extremely pleased with the work and the process. Great Job!
Description of Work: Hang and finish 68 sheets of drywall in a basement - textured ceiling. Original estimate was one of the lowest of 3 and included the cost of the board, but I already had the board on hand (see report on Porter Drywall). Knocked off approximately $500 for the cost of the board. From start to finish, work was completed in about 10 days with the Thanksgiving holiday stuck in there too. Here was the schedule (not consecutive days): Day 1: Hung the drywall - sub contacted crew started with 3 and finished with 6 guys. Took about 2.5 hours. Day 2: 'Scrapped' by a third party that recycles the board. Took about an hour. Day 3: Beaded, bedded, and skimmed - 1 guy beaded, and 2-guys mudding. Took a full day. Day 4: Final skim coat - 1 guy. Took about 3 hours. Day 5: Sand - 2 guys. Took about an hour. Day 6: Textured Ceiling (knockdown) - 2 guys. Took about 3 hours.
