I have been waiting for 6 months for this company to close out i the permit for my new( not so new anymore) A/C system. A permit that they took out. The owner was very accommodating up until he received payment in full. He promised that he would try and insulate the air handler for noise, but never did. I have left several messages for the last 2 months, but no return call. This is my second system with Kobie. The first time it was so smoith and effortless. I dont know what's going on with this company. The office help is unbelievably rude. She doesn't pass on messages, and she hangs up on you half way through. Unfortunately Im out of patience, and have decided to hire N A/C engineer to review the installation and an attorney, to get a response

Kobie Complete did the seasonal service on a York system that I purchased from them a year earlier. Six weeks later the drain line clogged. Cleaning the drain line was part of that seasonal service. The charge to clean it $162. I would not give them my business. There are better companies out there.

We started looking for competitive bids to repair or replace the two a A/C units in our home. Others quoted but these folks took the time to analyse our problems and make positive suggestions that were in our best interest. The crew that arrived on installation day were polite and knowledgeable. They set about their tasks in a workmen fashion each in a different direction but at the end of the day everything came together like magic. Our premises were left clean and *****. The only things left behind are our quiet and efficient air conditioners! Thanks Kobie, you are true professionals!

We have an annual contract and we paid for this one at the beginning of the year. We paid for 2 visits. We've had them for years for our previous house and for this one. Whenever I needed them in our last house they responded very quickly.

Went great. Kobie sent a big crew - two crews, really - and did the install and the re-ducting concurrently. Skilled, knowledgable techs who were fun to be around. The office staff were great in accomodating my crazy schedule restrictions and seemed genuinely happy to do it! I feel like I got a great deal on a great system from an outfit that has skilled workers who are happy to work there and made me feel that my job was the most important one that day. Only took them a couple of days.When they left you wouldn't have known they were there but for the big shiny new stuff! Hire them!
Description of Work: Install Lennox 20 SEER 5-ton heat pump/air handler/new line set/new wire back to the panel/thermostat/all duct work on a complete renovation/restoration.

A local electrician who we respect very much recommended Kobie Komplete for our HVAC. My husband called them a few weeks ago as they are running a special on Air Conditioner Winterization. They cancelled first appointment. No problem, husband rescheduled. They did the Winterization on Wed indicating that freon seemed low. Husband had them add whatever was necessary. Technician said we had a terrific system in great shape should last a long time. I was out all day on Thurs. it was an unusually cool day for Florida. At 5 pm we put on heat. After 2 hours it was still blowing out cool air. We called them and the John the tech called me back. The conversation went like this after I said exactly what I said above. HIM: what do you want me to do? ME: I don't know, what do yo think you should do? HIM: I can't give you any answers over the phone. I don't know what's wrong with the system. ME: Oh. It would be great if it was maybe a switch or something that maybe forgot to be turned back on or something. HIM: we'll I don't know. If I come there it's gonna be a service charge. ME: what?! The tech was just here yesterday and nothing happened in between except that we turned on heat. HIM: Listen lady you should hear the stories I hear every day. I don't know what you did to the system. ME: I don't know anything technical. Talk to my husband. They talked mostly discussing exactly the same thing. He continued to insist that he was going to charge us to come to the house. My husband gave me the phone back. I said "thank you. Goodbye" and hung up the phone. I called back answering service who said they would relay the message in the morning and have someone get back to me. John the same tech called me back. It didn't go any better. On Friday, I waited for a call. Finally at 12:30 hubby called the office. They said they would send someone no charge and they would be here between 2-3. I called at 3 and dispatcher said he was just leaving the next town over and would be here in about 15-20 minutes. After an hour I called to tell them he wasn't here. Their phones were turned off. Got answering service. Told them I wanted to hear from someone. Waited another 20 minutes. Finally tech showed up. At same time, the original tech Ron called. He said, don't worry, we'll get it taken care of. He even told me John has an attitude problem. He explained how the system works (degree differential and cycling of system). (i even apologized that he had to be on the bad side of a situation because of another worker's attitude.) When we told him that it blows warm for a little bit and the blows cool air, he said well it's working now. We asked him to wait to see if the temperature goes up from 73.2 to at least 74. He just left. My husband thought he was going to truck to get something. Nope, he just left.

We had the new Lenox system installed in the summer of 2011. The quality of the installation was outstanding. Very friendly and professional technicians. Have the Service Contract which sens the here twice a year, and we have never been without our air or heat. We would highly recommend Kobie Complete.
Description of Work: Air conditioner shut down due to no fault of the equipment. Called them at 8pm, the serviceman was here within 30 minutes and found the problem quickly. Was amazed how fast their service was on a hot Aug. night in Florida.

Had no trouble with workman ship . Repair person here 45 minutes and I was charged over $200.00. Called and asked why. No clear answer given. Was disappointed. Felt I was over charged for work performed. Still will use Kobie but, will check other repair shops for pricing before I let Kobie do any more work.I don't want to over pay again.

Description of Work: Kobie technician replaced breaker for AC despite my telling him I did not want it. This was after the first visit or house call ($74.95) when he determined my breaker was bad. All well and good. I accept that charge--high but legitimate A few days later same technician came through garage when I was getting dressed. I honestly had no idea that he was replacing breaker since he said it had to be ordered which was not true--this was a very common GE breaker and he had it in stock. I thought it would be a week or more before he got the breaker. Thinking I still needed a breaker, I bought one on line for $25.00--Kobie charged me $145.00 for that same breaker. Kobie did some work for my daughter a few years ago but she fired him because his technicians tried to sell equipment that my daughter's renters did not need. So too my neighbor. When she saw the Kobie truck in my driveway, she drove in behind him and told us point blank that Kobie will overcharge us and try to sell us something we didn't need. How right she was. I will not go into the self righteous arrogance of Mike, Kobie's manager but I have sent Kobie's President (Ted Steele) a certified letter objecting to Kobie gouging us and to Kobie's dishonesty in general. He never responded. Why should he when he was the cheater and we the cheated. This was a very strong letter and I would gladly send anyone a copy of it if he or she asked.

Service was provided the same day requested which is good. However it took a very long time to solve the problem. I had to coach their technician on how to solve the leaking drain pipe.
Description of Work: Unclogged AC water drain line. Seemed like he struggled with it and spent more time than needed. I had to asssist him in completely solving the problem. Charge was expensive

On 7/10/12 a salesperson came to give us a bid to have some work done to move the lines that go from the inside to the outside A/C unit. The salesperson said if we had a large job, it might take 2 weeks to get the work done, but he felt it was such a small job that we could get it done before that time. He said to let them know if we wanted them to do the work and they would get us on schedule. We called both the salesperson and the office the following day to let them know we wanted to schedule the job. They said they would look at the schedule and get back with us. A couple of days later I called again, as I had not heard from them. Again, I was told they would check the schedule and get back with me. Today, 7/26/12, we got a phone call from a worker saying he was on his way to our house to do the work. This was the first we had even heard from the company since I was told they would let me know when it was scheduled. I told the worker not to come. We didn't mind waiting the 2 weeks to have the work done, but felt someone should have let us know that we were on the schedule before they were on their way out to do the work. We honestly thought they had decided not to do the job. We have contracted with another company who let us know that day that they would be here this coming Tuesday to do the work.

They seem to do a really good job. It cools the condo really well. They put it in before I moved in. They gave me good discount too. It worked out good. I would use them in the future.

A/C went out Tuesday afternoon when I returned home from work. I called on Wednesday morning and they said they would arrive between 12pm and 2pm on that day. Fortunately, my sister was available to meet the technician. Sure enough the tech was there at 12:15 and diagnosed the problem, quoted the price and was done an hour later. Even called me on my cell and discussed the problem and got my approval before doing the work. I highly recommend and would use again.
Description of Work: Diagnosed the problem. Replaced the capacitor in the A/C condenser.

the tech took my 21.00 filter . told me was the wrong size. left me no filter at all. told to buy a new filter was given the wrong size. called to complain sent out a new tech with a replacement filter it worth was $ 1. 00. several weeks had passed. buy noticed a large amount of dust in the house . went out to buy a replacement filter$ 21.00. too no avail. the dust is in the ducts and the whole house (1) need too have the whole a/c and duct system cleaned .(2) and the house. very upset as we don't have the money too due ether. both in poor health

The after hours turnaround from my initiial call to the answering service and completion of the job was just under an hour! I felt very well informed and secure in a relationship with an excellent local company.
Description of Work: Returned home in the evening to find that my AC was not working. I have a service contract with Kobie. Reached the answering service, then got a return call in 5 minutes from Steve, the technician. We discussed the problem. He recommended that I turn off the system to avoid overheating it, and said he would be over soon. He arrived only 20 minutes later. Within 30 minutes he had found a blown condenser in the outside unit. He showed me the damaged part, explained that it is failure that can occur over time (the system is 10 years old), and gave me a firm estimate to complete the job. He did so quickly and the system was up and working within an hour of my initial call! Steve then explained some other issues regarding an aging system and discussed the importance of beginning to plan for a system replacement in the next few years. Kobie continues to be the best contracting compoany that I have ever worked with. They honor their commitments in the servcie contract, and are very prompt and professional.

Deceived by one tech and the problem fixed by a competent tech. I had been with Kobie for one house in Venice since 2003 and for another house in Sarasota since 2005. The unit in Venice had been making an abnormal noise starting in September so I had turned the AC unit off. I called Kobie and they noted that I had a fall service check coming up so we agreed to combine both service calls into one day. A tech by the name of Bart came out to look at the noise. He opened the unit and did something but in the end the unit was still making the same noise. He left the unit running. I asked him if that was ok and he said that it was because my unit was old and I needed a new one. He gave me a couple of brochures to consider a new unit ($4000). That unit was from 1998. In any case, he left the unit running with the noise and proceeded to complete the normal service call. I am not a mechanic, but I knew that a machine with an abnormal noise should not be left running so I turned off the machine after Bart had departed. The next morning I called Kobie and to their credit they promptly sent out another tech, Mike. Mike took a look and in 5 minutes told me that the problem was a burnt contact which was causing the machine to continue running, among other things. He had the part with him and got it fixed. He then went to check on the fall check that Bart had performed and discovered that most of the fall check had not been done, to include changing the filter and some other checks. Mike fixed everything. My complaint is that over the years I had spent thousands of dollars between the Sarasota house and the Venice house and I realized that Kobie techs may have been less than honest with the problems they reported. I do not live in FL so some of the work had been done after a phone call from me. I will only have Mike service my homes now but I am not sure he is not there anymore since he didn't sell units and parts the way Bart pushed them. I am 49, a man, with some mechanical aptitude. I can't imagine what Kobie techs like Bart have done to some of the seniors in FL.

My A/C decided to stop working on a Saturday afternoon - of course! Now, do I sweat it out all day Sunday or pay overtime charges on the weekend? I had dealt with Kobie Complete in a business to business relationship before so decided to give them a try. Ed was on duty and called me back within an hour after I left a message. He was at my house within the hour. He was polite and friendly, found the problem quickly (a bad capacitor) and had the part to replace it right then. Being a Sunday during a Florida summer I was impressed with the fact that he could have tried to sell me a whole new unit (which I knew I didn't need but would have expected any A/C sales guy to try) - but he didn't. Ed was a complete professional and I appreciate the fact that he didn't try to take advantage of my desperate situation. I heartily endorse Kobie Complete as my personal choice for A/C repair.
