Excellent - Kept appointment and updated arrival time. Work was fast and efficient and pricing was very reasonable. Would definitely use Preferred Electrical again for any future electrical or wiring projects.

I've used him for the last 4 years. He always gives service within 24 hours when I call. He has an excellent workmanship.

Bill gave me a sight unseen quote for a $1,000.00 even because they replace so many of these old defective and hazardous FPE panels. He had the permit pulled within 3 days and had his installer out 2 days later on a Saturday no less. I already have more work for them to do and wont hesitate to recommend them!

not well, I still have a short, took 4 weeks to have them come out, they were in and out in less than 15 minutes. they reset a GFI and said that was the issue. When I asked what made it pop, the answer was not sure, and they were gone. had to call them back when it happend again but this time melted my door bell. The owner is very hard to get along with and gets upset easy when you try and talk with him. I still have a short somewhere. The breaker pops when you turn on the Bathroom light. (all on the same run) I am looking for a company that really cares about their customers and will take the time to find the issues. not one that gets loud when you ask questions.

I called and explained our issue and our location, the lady said they are in edgewater So I apologized and told her I didn't realize how far they were, admittedly I was just calling the list that popped up in my Angie's search, and I thanked her for her time, she stopped me and told me she would call the owner, as he likes to work Angie's listbcalls, and see if he wanted to take the business and she would call me back. She called back and said he would, so they were great about scheduling for the next day. We weren't given a time frame, no big deal they said morning so we planned to wait through the morning for their call. When he called he sounded annoyed and generally unhappy to be making the call. He unplugged our dryer (which we thought blew our fuse) and turned the breaker on and it stayed on so he said our dryer was the problem and proceeded to charge $100, he offered $10 off when he realized we were incredibly disappointed that he was over charging, he also said it would have been the same price even if he had switched the fuse in the breaker. So we basically paid him $90 to drive to us and unplug our dryer. I was never told of a service charge or any price talk for that matter, but I obviously expected one. However, what they charge is way above what we've ever been charged for a service call that resulted in no work being done. We have hired other professionals which resulted in the same, they've come out, what we thought was wrong wasn't so they did no work and they charged us $50 for time/fuel, very reasonable. I should have checked the google reviews instead of relying on the Angie's list ones.

They were here in May of 2016. I complained about a problem and they didn't call back. I don't remember the cost but it was expensive.

It went great. Bill the owner always make sure that everything is done correctly. He can figure out anything. This was a month long project because of demolition and then reinstall. He and his employees did there best to make things comfortable for us. One employee showed up on the day after thanksgiving even though he had the day off to fix something for us. Additionally, I had one other estimate on this job. It was a ridicuoulous price. Preferred has alway been honest and fair. Plus I recommended him to two of my friends and they were very happy.

Did not go well at all. the owner initially quoted $2500 to $2800 for the total job but then ended up charging me $4100. The lead electrician that was sent to my home reported wrong hours to the owner and I was charged for them. When I brought it to the owners attention he confronted me and the employee about it. The employee would not admit to the difference in hours. I told the owner that I had text to prove the hour differences. I provided text proof of hours and the owner did nothing to rectify the billing differences. He claims he did but he did not. He just added additional hours so it looked as if he fixed the hour discrepancy. The employee admitted to me of working sick and less hours than what he submitted. The electricians installed a new exhaust fan in the bathroom during demo and did not secure it. It fell into the demo pile and was thrown away. The owner Bill charged me for another fan of $175. The lead electrician worked very slow and had to have some his work reworked by the helper. Between the hour discrepancy and the slow work due to being sick this cost me at least 6 hours worth of work. At $100 an hour that is $600. This is the worst service I have ever had from a skilled tradesman. In the end this owner definitely over charged me at least $775. Be very cautious if you use this company. Get quotes in writing and VERIFY every minute they are in your home.

BFantastic. Two electricians showed up exactly on time and worked until the job was done. They were courteous and professional and dressed well. They communicated with me and before they finished called me to confirm job was done and went well. I had to leave to do to the west coast. I would use them again and will refer them as well.

I made the appointment and he showed up on time. He was very professional and got right to work. It took no time at all. I had a coupon that was on Angie's List and received 10% off the service call. He was very personable and cleaned up after he was done. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

in my Through a mistake of my own the man from preferred electrical talked me through an issue with my kitchen outlets. During thanksgiving one of my GFI started making a noice and smoking .. forturnately my son in law was was able to replace the GFI for me. Then after my son in law left the problem started again and non of the outlets seemed to be woriing. as a matter of fact another GFI on the other side started with a noice. So when I tested the outlets nothing was working.I called Preferred and he said how was I testing the outlets and I told him with a coffee grinder that was not working when plugged in. He said maybe the coffee grinder is not working and I said it was just working yesterday...he said try something else and he was right...I guess the coffee grinder was now broke. ..Well in the end alll is working well for now. and he did not have to come out or did not charge me for something that was a stuped mistake on my part. I would always recommend them...he was very nice and helpful... THANK YOU PEOPLE AT PREFERRED.

They did a great job and cleaned up well and they even did a few extra things for me at no extra charge. I used the 10% off coupon.

Bill scheduled to do job within one week, showed up on time, removed old light units, assembled new light - fan units. Good job, this is the 3rd time I have used his services. Bill has walked his talk, with on time service and a fair price each time. I highly recommend Preferred Electrical Construction. Bob Woodington Edgewater
