Description of Work: My mom's air conditioner was making a funny sound and we had actually called another company for an estimate. They quoted a ridiculous amount and we were not comfortable with what they were saying. After searching I found the actual papers for the company that installed my moms AC, it was Jim's Fix It Shop!

Description of Work: Fixes anything you can plug in. I didn't think he'd touch my microwave because it's not a toaster, but he did an amazing job fixing my microwave/convection oven. GE said it couldn't be fixed. They said it was too old.

Description of Work: Replaced capacitors on or 52" flat screen, brought it in Christmas week and he had it done in two days.

Description of Work: My 89 year old Mom's 40" tv wouldn't turn on. Called Jim's Fix It Shop and discovered he would take the tv but would loan one while ours was gone. Have not found anything like that service anywhere else. It was late in the day and he was going to a Dr. appointment but said he would stop in when he got back. He and his lovely wife came and brought her a 26" tv to watch while he had hers and he set it up so it worked with her usual cable remote. Several days later I had heard nothing from him so I called. I explained to Wendy that Mom is about to turn 90 and is not a patient person. She understood and when he came back from a service call she would see what was happening and call back. No one called but the next day when I got up he had come and gone returning her tv. It was a $49.00 deposit on his tv the day he picked it up and $89 for the repairs. She said she told him the picture did not look as sharp as before but he hooked it up and left after receiving his check. When I got up I seadjusted the tv settings so she was happy again. I will use him again but am taking points off for the lack of communication and not trying to help an old lady get her tv back to how she liked it. He had everything set to standard and I don't know anyone who likes all setting the same. Obviously he knew by then from her, me and his wife that she had no clue how to adjust the settings. Had she been living alone she would have had no recourse but to watch her tv with her poor eyesight with difficulty until someone visited who could help her. Do not hesitate to use this person. Just know you will probably need to be the squeaky wheel or just patient enough to wait for him to do things in his own time frame. Since neither Mom nor I could lift the tv even a flat screen to take into a shop the pick up and return was crucial as was the loaner. I felt the charges were good, not excessive.
