David arrived at our home on time. He was very pleasant and professional. He set up a display with a heat lamp and a Crooke's radiometer. He explained that the speed of the rotating vanes were relative to the ambient temperature. A higher temperature caused the vanes to spin faster. He placed several samples of windows between the heat lamp and the radiometer. Of course, when he placed his window sample in front of the heat lamp, the vanes barely spun. I'm not a scientist, but when I googled what causes the vanes in a Crooke's radiometer to spin, it appears it's mostly related to light, not heat. Regardless, this "proof" was somewhat suspect due to the fact that we were supposed to believe what he said. After he was finished with the display, he took some measurements and scribbled his estimate on a blank piece of paper . He provided us with a quote for $6,570 that was good for TONIGHT ONLY. If we didn't accept his quote tonight, the price would go up to $8,000. I explained to him that this was the first quote we received and I wasn't going to make a decision tonight. He insisted that once he walked out the door, the lower price was gone forever. He stated that could attempt to call the company at a later date and make an attempt to negotiate, but he could make no promises that they would be willing to give us his price. I'm not a fan of the sales pitch that forces me to make an immediate purchase. I believe that most people, like myself, want to get another estimate or spend a short amount of time to think it over before making a large purchase. I'm quite certain that there was plenty of cushion in the estimate that would allow for any increase in costs if I decided to pull the trigger several days later instead of today. If you don't mind committing to purchase immediately after receiving the estimate, than this company may work for you. However, if you're like me, and want to spend a day or two to think it over and perform research on their product before committing to purchase, then don't bother to call.

Gave me an estimate (fair) we negotiated a bit sent someone to check on installation. Got permits & had recommended setting screens because of code did the work fairly promptly cleaned up very well.

Work took longer than expected due to unforeseen circumstances. They kept me informed every step of the way.

The service was really good. They did a wonderful job on the windows. What we thought would take several days only took one day. The guy we worked with was very good and the installers were excellent as well.

It took them 7 months to finally get everything in. The windows look great but I had to eventually work directly with the window manufacturer. They took out the old windows and then installed all mismatched windows. The three people I originally dealt with were eventually fired and then everything got worse. Everyone I have talked to have been nice but the work has taken a long time to get anything done.

Salesman came and did lengthy demonstration using a high grade double hung Simonton Reflections window, which we selected. He promised contractor supplied life-time warranty and 5 year interest free financing. I called the salesman's attention to the fact that the receipt did not specify the "Reflections" model name. He quickly wrote this on my copy only. I called them several times to make sure the windows ordered were correct and they assured me that the Reflections model shown was the only one they install. As the first windows were being installed, we noticed they delivered a lower quality construction grade, single hung Simonton window. Total bait and switch. We stopped installation until we could come to an agreement--Return windows or re-negotiate price. Fasteners for all double windows were drilled through our beautiful marble window sills without any warning. The picture window in the family room, which we specifically asked to be the same size, was shrunk by 18 inches and its side windows made larger. We halted the installation again, and called the office where we were told they could lower the price a little but to get the windows we originally ordered we would have to pay twice as much. Financing turned out to be for three years, was not interest free, and was delivered in the form of a credit card which had been taken out in our name with the purchase price as the balance. We cancelled that credit card, and secured other same-day, interest-free financing from another of their outside vendors. The only bright spot throughout the whole ordeal were the installers who were quite professional, courteous, and clean while working. We checked references and the BBB. Their ratings and reviews were based on the Parent company and not the window division.

Their sales man came to the house and was ontime for the meeting. the representative was very professional, however it was your typical dog and pony show with the representative constantly saying phrases like, " you would agree or you can see the value or similar phrases to elicit positive responses from us". After nearly two hours we finally got down to numbers and the representative gave me a quote of $16,100 for 14 windows, over $1,000 per window. Needless to say I am in the wrong business I did not know there was such a large profit margin in windows. We said no to the quote so the representative got on the phone with his "boss" to see if he could reduce the cost. It felt like we where at a car dealership where the salesman goes back and forth with you and his manager trying to make a deal. They came back with a second quote of $15,000 oh and did I mention 5 year interest free financing. What a deal, they must think people really idiots. Needless to say we did not use this company and would never use them based on our interaction. Subsequent to receiving Southwest Florida's quote we looked through Angie's list for rated contractors and received quotes. For the exact same Simonton 5500 reflection windows with LoE-366 we received a quote of $6,400.
