Wade went above and beyond to get my AC running. Highly recommend.

Technician came out on time, diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor, replaced it and everything is fine. My experience with other a/c companies is they grossly overcharge for capacitors. Shades charged a fair price. Total job $115. I highly recommend them and will use them in the future as the need arises.

They were out here the next morning! He said it was just a capacitor and charged me $65 to fix it. It is now working great. Any other repairman would have told me that the unit is shot (it is 13 years old) and that it needs to be replaced at a cost of $11,000. I would not have known the difference.. Seven years ago I was using another AC service that had the highest ratings and they came by when the AC system in my house stopped working. Predictably the repairman told me that the unit was shot and needed to be replaced at a cost of thousands of dollars. In order to verify this though I called Arthur at Shades AC first. Arthur came by and said there was a just small part that was broken and he replaced it for under $90. He said there was nothing wrong with the system other than that small part and sure enough, seven years later the system is still running strong. This kind of honesty and responsiveness is extremely rare. I highly recommend Arthur from Shades AC.

Great, Great, & Great. I am involved in many projects on my home that require the best possible, and find that the majority of companies in this area only want your money without satisfaction. Windows slow and costly. Roof not as described. Name it and disappointment. Usually 3 comparisons by me but this time I compared a total of six, because it is so hard to obtain a company that will do what they claim. With a 12 year old air conditioner I started getting quotes for a new system ion August. I called several local AC companies who had come out including Shade's. Out of all the companies who came out Arthur from Shade's gave the most competitive price and most of all did not put pressure on the purchase of a new system - very honest. On Christmas Day our air conditioner stopped blowing air even though the system was running outside. I called Arthur the following day before 7am in hopes to leave a message to get an appointment on the day after a holiday. Arthur answered the phone and was at my house at 9am. He diagnosed the problem as the fan motor and said that the replacement/repair would run around $600 including labor. I contemplated putting that kind of money in a 12 year old system. Arthur was honest and put no pressure on me and said that he would easily replace the fan if that was what I chose. He even offered to have me think about it for a few days - no pressure. I decided to use the quote he gave me in August (which he honored) and had him replace the system. The following day he and another crew member was at my house at 9am and installed the new system. I am very happy with Shades and will definitely use them going forward for anything relating to my air conditioning system. Highly recommend him and his company because he is HONEST, puts NO pressure on you and is knowledgeable in his expertise.

Shade's Air Conditioning was able to come out the same day that I reached them! Very professional, the provider examined the problem and diagnosed what had caused the issue and then fixed it. He also checked on my compressor outside to ensure that everything was going okay there and then only charged me for the service call. He was at my home about 45 minutes and was personable, professional, and the price was great, considering I had expected much more damage on that front. (I still have to fix the ceiling and the wood laminate floor that was damaged, but the original problem with the float switch was caused by a previous contractor.) I am so glad I found this firm on Angie's List! It's the second time this provider has saved me money on my air conditioning and I will continue to use only his firm from now on!

Professional, came and did a minor repair to salvage the unit. It worked a few days and stopped again, tried to do another minor repair and again stopped in a day. He then replaced the whole unit at a reasonable price and didn't charge me for the previous visits and repairs. Honest man.

I called Arthur to get a quote on replacing our air conditioner that is 11 years old. I was very pleased with his knowledge and honesty. He was very competitive price wise and answered all my questions. I am definitely going to consider his service to replace our air conditioner in the near future.

Arthur, the owner, is kinda like that uncle in the family that you can trust to help out-the one who knows "stuff" and will help considerably. He changed all the duct work, including extracting all the mold-made new returns, added vents where vents needed to be,changed vents where they would be more efficient-all in the span of one hot Florida summer day (the exact day and time he scheduled weeks in advance). He did all this for thousands less than the other top rated companies I had inspect the house. I've worked with him a few times now, and I've come to trust him-his professional service and advice. Once you find an outstanding car mechanic or AC guy-you put them on speed dial. Arthur's the man.

Art is a nice guy but I am not happy with the outcome. During the first visit, he explained to me that I had a very common issue occur when the air turned off in that the drain pan was filled with water tripping the safety switch. He charged me $45 and he cleaned out the pan with his shop vac. Two days later, it happened again. So we cleaned out the pan. It happened again, so I called Art back. He came out and put in a new drain line. After three days, the same thing. So I called Art and he did not return my call. I have since called three times with no response. He obviously is ignoring me and not interested in helping me fix the problem. Therefore, I cannot recommend him nor give him a good review.

Called Art and he was here on a Saturday with in 4 hours. He found the problem and had us warm in no time

Fan motor would not start. Needed new Capacitor

I called Shades early in the morning to leave a message before hours hoping they could fit me in that day for repair. Not only did Arthur answer the phone but was at my house before 9am. My ac was up and running with cold air in no time. I felt he was very fair, honest and knowledgeable. I would definitely call Shades again.

The AC system has performed flawlessly for over 12 years and is still strong. Arthur is extremely honest and knowledgeable. He has never tried to do anything dishonest with me which is unusual as most AC businesses will start out servicing your system honestly but will then later tell you that you have an expensive repair to make (which you don't). Arthur is not like that. You can trust him. He is always honest, hard working and extremely capable. I would highly recommend Shades and Arthur to anyone.
