My husband and I first met Carl 4 years ago. We had purchased a lot in Dunedin to build our dream home on and then investigated our options for a builder. We discovered Glenn Cairne a development that was in its early stages. These particular homes where Green homes, something we where very interested in. Carl showed us the model and then came over to our lot to discuss what would or could be the possibilities. We were very excited about our endeavor but had a lot of preparation on our part to get ready for this move. Thus, we spent the next 3.5 years getting everything in order in New York. We sold our home and moved to a location about 1.5 hours north of Dunedin. We broke ground in July 2012. Carl was with us all the way. Making sure that we knew what was going on with the building. Keeping us informed of progress and regular meetings. This after numerous meetings to discuss floor plans and possibilities long before we ever broke ground. This is not to say that there where not delays. Mother nature insinuated herself a few times and there was this rather large tree stump that needed attention. Carl never made us feel like we where imposing or asking and quot;stupidand quot; questions and ALWAYS responded with an answer or and quot;I will get you the answerand quot;. And he always did. We moved into our home in February and are amazed at home many of our neighbors have commented on how they watched our home being built and have made very positive comments, not only on the structural details of the building, but how it all came together. We are extremely happy with our home and would and have already recommended Carl to others.

I liked the personable involvement of the contractor and developer. He was there from the beginning of the sale to the closing. He was very open and easy to work with. He would listen to our ideas and would provide advice on the development of the home based on his experiences.
Description of Work: They built my home.

My wife and I, who are both retired, came to Florida in early 2009 to find a winter residence. We were first introduced to Dunedin which we really liked for its sense of history, community and liveability. We looked at other areas on the West Coast, but were drawn back here to explore more fully. This house which was the second one the realtor showed us, had been built as the model for what will eventually be 14 separate two story homes in the neighborhood. We fell in love with it and within several days entered into a contract to buy it and lease it back to the builder for a year. This allowed him to continue to show it to other prospective buyers and us to sell our house up north. We moved down in October, 2010 and feel it is one of the best decisions we have ever made. There are presently 4 homes completed and a fifth that will be finished in a few weeks. Each is constructed with an elevator shaft. We had an elevator installed (approx. $25,000 extra) which is a great help in moving heavy/bulky items between floors and will assure that we can access all rooms if the stairs ever become a challenge to us. We are two blocks from Main Street, Dunedin, four blocks from the Gulf of Mexico and a half a block from the 40+ mile Pinellas Trail where we walk and bicycle. There are great restaurants and shops on Main Street and there are frequent markets, festivals and parades in town, all of which make for a lively and fun environment. Anyone looking for a great house in a wonderful community with friendly people should check out this neighborhood before the houses are all gone.
Description of Work: Carl Krave, through his company, Pocket Neighborhood, assembled and finished our new house in Dunedin, Florida in a development known as the Cottages at Glencairn (see www.GlencairnCottages.com for a virtual tour). The house was constructed in four large units (total floor space approx. 2,000 sq.ft.) in a controlled environment then trucked to and assembled and finished on site. The quality and workmanship are excellent and the builder incorporated many features to minimize the carbon footprint and make the house environmentally friendly. Carl has been very responsive to any problems or issues.
