Description of Work: We set up an appointment to quote repairs on my two chimneys, but James rescheduled at the last minute, then didn't show for the rescheduled appointment. No communication at all from them. Very disappointed.

Description of Work: James Rydill came out to examine the chimney and determine the cause of a leak. The roof was leaking around fireplace and previous attempts to fix had not worked. He determined the leak location quickly and provided a repair estimate. He is very knowledgeable with chimneys and fireplace.

Description of Work: Don't waste your time calling them. I waited three working days and never received the courtesy of a response to my request for chimney and dryer vent cleaning. I guess the economy is too good for them to answer phone calls for basic services.

Description of Work: Waited and waited. Never showed up. Called and left a message. No return call. Called again after appointment finally closed. He said that he attempted to call but the phone line was wasn't working. I had received several calls during my wait from other people, my phone line was working just fine. Bottom line, I lost half my day for nothing and now have to find another company.

 + -1 moreON MONDAY I CALLED TO TELL HIM THAT I WANTED HIM TO DO THE WORK AND TO HAVE HIS INSURANCE COMPANY FAX ME PAPERWORK ASSURING ME THAT HIS POLICY WAS ACTIVE. HE SAID I'D HAVE IT THE NEXT DAY(TUESDAY, THE 15TH). I LEFT TOWN THAT DAY FOR ALMOST A WEEK AND NO FAX CAME THROUGH. I CALLED HIM AFTER RETURNING-SOMEWHERE AROUND 3/22 THROUGH 3/24 AND HE SAID HE HAD JUST INCREASED HIS INSURANCE BUT HE'D HAVE THAT FAXED TO ME RIGHT AWAY. LATE LAST WEEK, 3/30 OR 31, I CALLED AND GOT HIS VOICE MAIL AND TOLD HIM OF MY FRUSTRATION SINCE I WANTED HIM TO DO THE JOB BUT COULDN'T SEEM TO GET HIM TO DO THE JOB. NO CALL BACK. MY BOTTOM LINE THOUGHT: HE'S NOT INSURED.
Description of Work: THE WORK I WANTED THIS COMPANY TO DO FOR ME WAS TO INSTALL A NEW CHIMNEY CAP ASSEMBLY. MY FIRST CALL WAS ON 3/10 AND HE WAS TO COME THE NEXT DAY. HE CALLED JUST BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT TO SAY HE WOULD HAVE TO RE-SCHEDULE TO SATURDAY BUT WOULD NOT CHARGE ME BECAUSE OF THE LATE NOTICE. I WAS IMPRESSED. HE ARRIVED PROMPTLY AND LEFT A BID. ON MONDAY I CALLED TO GIVE HIM THE JOB OVER ANOTHER BID BECAUSE HIS ALSO INCLUDED PAINTING THE NEW ASSEMBLY TO MATCH MY HOUSE AND WAS COMPARABLE TO THE OTHER BID. THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS STARTED. Description of Work: CALLED AND LEFT MESSAGE TO SET APPOINTMENT AND JAMES CALLED BACK THAT EVENING. SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITHIN A WEEK AROUND CHRISTMAS TIME. UNFORTUNATELY, HE HAD WRONG DAY LISTED IN HIS RECORDS, MEANING I HAD TO TAKE EXTRA TIME OFF FROM WORK TO MEET HIM THE NEXT DAY. WHEN HE ARRIVED, JAMES WAS VERY PLEASANT AND HE DID A THOROUGH JOB. HE POINTED OUT SOME DAMAGE AND A MISSING PART (IMPORTANT PART), AND WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE REPAIRS AND REPLACE THE PART AT THE TIME OF SERVICE. WORKED QUICKLY AND KEPT MESS OUT OF THE HOUSE. NOTE THAT WE ARE IN EXTREME SOUTHERN ST. PETERSBURG, AND JAMES IS BASED IN TAMPA. HE HAD NO PROBLEM COMING TO OUR HOUSE, EVEN IF THE SERVICE HAD BEEN HIS BASE CLEANING SERVICE. ANOTHER CHIMNEY CLEANING COMPANY IN ANGIE'S LIST THAT IS BASED IN PINELLAS COUNTY WOULD NOT EVEN MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, EVEN THOUGH ITS LISTING SAYS THAT IT SERVES ALL OF PINELLAS COUNTY. WOULD GLADLY USE JAMES' SERVICE AGAIN.

HE WAS ABLE TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE OVER THE PHONE AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO PERFORM THE WORK 2 DAYS LATER. JAMES ARRIVED RIGHT ON TIME AND WAS VERY CAREFUL TO PROTECT THE INTERIOR OF THE LIVING ROOM FROM THE CHIMNEY DEBRIS. HE WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE CORRECT BRUSHES TO USE FOR MY OLD CHIMNEY AND PROVIDED BIDS FOR INSTALLING A DAMPER ($419) AND REPAIRING THE FIREBOX ($289). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.
