"Thank you Sir for your nice review on Angie's List. We appreciate your comments which go a long way toward helping us secure our A-rating on Angie's List. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance to you in the future."
"Thank you [member name removed] for the great review and especially for your continued patronage. We appreciate your comments and your work."
"Dear Member, Thank you for your good grades and kind comments. We appreciate you taking the time to rate us on Angie's List. Your grades and comments help give other Angie's List members who could be potential customers confidence when selecting our firm. Our motto is "Plug In To Superior Service" I am glad we were able to live up to it on your project. Your business is very much appreciated. THANK YOU"
"Dear Member Thank You for your business and good grades. They both are very much appreciated."
"Dear Member, Thank you for taking the time to write the review of our company on Angies List. I was concerned with the "C" grade you gave us in the Responsiveness catagory as we make every effort to be responsive. In reasearching your call I see you called our company on August 28, 2013 and scheduled the work for August 30, 2013. We showed up as scheduled on the morning of August 30, 2013 and completed the work on that same day. I also noticed in the electricians note on the invoice that you requested a quotation on some additional electrical work that required the responce of one of our estimators. This did not get accomplished untl several days later and unfortunately the work you requested a estimate on was not work that we perform. I apologize for the delayed responce in responding to your estimate. Thank you for your repeat business it is appreciated."
Everything went very well. Craig is an experienced electrician. He worked quickly & got the job done right the first time. I value his experience & advise about safety. He gave us a tip about buying smoke detectors. Make sure that you check the date on the back of the devise. They are only good for 10 years & must be replaced. If you buy a detector that has been on the shelf for a number of years, that reduces the life of that device in your home. Very nice tip. I will ask for Craig the next time I have a need for an electrician.
"Dear Member, Thank you very much for your good review and grade. Most importantly Thank You for your business. We will pass your kind comments along to Craig and they will be used in our next company meeting as a example of what good customer service is all about. Again thank you, your comments and business were much appreciated."
"Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We appreciate your comments very much."
"Dear Member, Thank You for your complimentary review and congratulations on your wise decision to install Surge Protection on your residence. In today's high tech world of electronics, quality Surge Protection has become a necessity and not a option. Thank you again for your business and review it is appreciated and we will pass your comments along to Luke."
"We sincerely appreciate the "A" reviews. Thank you for taking the time to do so. VP"
"Dear Member, Thank you for your kind comments about Gulf Coast Electric. Your business is sincerely appreciated. Please let us know when we can help you again with any of your electrical needs."
"Dear Member, Thanks for selecting our firm to take care of your electricsal needs and THANK YOU for the nice comments on Gulf Coast Electric and our electrician Dale. Your business is sincerely appreciated."
"Dear Member, Thanks for the nice review and good grade. We strive for complete customer satisfaction with every call we do. Dale is a exceptional technician and he goes above and beyond the call of duty with all his work assignmenmts. Thank you very much for your business it is sincerely appreciated."
"Dear Member, Thank you for the nice review but it was another contractor who performed your work. Gulf Coast Electric is a electrical contracting firm located in Destin Florida, we strickly do electrical work we do not do Air Conditioning work. Apparently the Angie's List telephone interviewer incorrectly documented your comments to our firm instead of the correct AC firm. Glad you had a good experience, please let us know if you ever have any electrical problems we will be happy to help."
"Dear Member, Thank you for the nice review and good grade. Your business is appreciated and we look forward to helping you in the future with any of your electrical needs. Thank you."
Craig looked at the fan that was installed last fall and found a few things wrong. Craig was able to fix the noise problem and get rid of the wobble (the manual said there would be some wobble when on "high").
I had the three bedroom fans replace last fall too and discovered the remote to the master bedroom fan was also working the family room fan while I was in the master bedroom. As a result, Craig set the fans to different codes so a fan would not turn oin an empty room in error.
Craig was there for 3 hours to get the work done. Most of it was taking out the old box (held up by 3 screws) and installing the new box.
Note: Last fall I had a contractor major makeovers to the 2 bathrooms and swap out the ceiling fans (I bought the wrong fan for the front room - flush mount for a cathedral ceiling...oops) and replace the florescent light in the kitchen with a modern fixture. One person preformed the work. Installing tile, the light fixtures, vanities, painting, and the fans. I think what I have learned is that a jack of all trades is an expert in none. Overall the work looked great but I wonder what may come up in the future. Next time I act as contractor and hire experts in each field to do the work. ;-)
I was very pleased with Craig and his work.
"Dear Member, Thanks for the nice comments on Craig he is a excellent electrician and thank you for your business. Your comments make a interesting and important point that all homeowners and Angie List members sholud be aware of. When it comes to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC and other trades it is important to hire licensed professionals to do the work. Most handyman/contractors are not licensed to perform specialized work that require independent license. When a handyman or contractor moves from the realm of minor repairs or construction work that he or she is not authorized to do, they are entering the area of unlicensed activity and are subject to prosecution. There normally is no such thing as a legal "jack of all trades" and homeowners should beware that not only could they be putting their property at risk they could be held responsible for adding and abetting a unlicensed contractor not to mention problems with homeowners insurance for coverage on items not performed by a licensed contractor. In our area only a licensed electrical contractor can perform electrical work. There is no license, certificate of competency, for a handyman they are only required to get a occupational license(Business Tax Receipt) and when doing so they must sign a affidavit stating that they WILL NOT install wiring, replace switches or receptacles, install light fixtures, install ceiling fans, install plumbing fixtures, make roof repairs, any structural work, etc. the list is very extensive. Unfortunatly not many adhere to the signed affidavit. This work must only be done by the appropriate licensed, insured contractors. Hardly a week goes by at our firm that we don't run into a electrical issue that has been incorrectly performed by a unlicensed contractor posing as a jack of all trades, handyman, maintenance man. Many times the work has been done incorrectly, not per code and creates a hazard to life and property. The simple installation of a vanity light over a bathroom sink, or a ceiling fan, it not installed correctly can be very dangerous to the homeowner. Your closing comment that you will now hire experts in each field to do your work is the right path to take. Thank you again for your business it is sincerly appreciated."
He is extremely nice and very professional. When he introduced himself, he presented me with the company business card.
I showed him everything that I wish to have done and he was on it in no time.
He made recommendations for my future projects, in which I will be using this company again!
He worked non-stop from the minute he walked in until the work was finished.
I know my job went beyond the time that was probably slotted for me, and Craig just kept on working hard.
I kept adding things for him to do or kept asking him questions. He was very patient with me.
I will highly recommend Gulf Coast Electric to my neighbors.
It was a great treat to discover such a dependable company.
Even when I made the appointment the gentleman that answered the telephone was courteous and so helpful about what I wanted to do and explained all the rates etc..
"WOW Thank you so much for the nice comments. Our motto at Gulf Coast Electric is "Unique in our passion to exceed customer expectations'. Our tag line is " Plug In To Superiopr Service". We strive hard to accomplish those phrases on every call. Every employee in our company from the individuals that answer the phones to the warehouse manager are educated on almost a daily basis on the importance of good customer service. We are happy you are happy, that is our goal. Craig is a excellent electrician and a true asset to our company. We will pass your kind comments along to Craig and documentation will be made in his personnel file. Thank you again for your comments they are very much appreciated and very helpful in our training. Your comments reveal to our electricians that good service is recognizable and very much appreciated. Most importantly thank you also for your business. Jeff R. Linn President"
I had requested a free estimate on some substantial electric work at my home. During the phone call the telephone attendant asked if I had any emergency repairs. I said no, but I agreed that they could look at some of the small items on my list (an outlet--here is where I went wrong, she had her hook to charge me.) She mentioned a $67 dollar service call for repairs performed. I said I understood. So when the guy shows up I tell him I just want the free estimate. We walk around the property, discussing the work that I had in mind and I finish with what he thought the estimate would be. He said he would have to go back to the shop, but before he went he said I was being charged for the visit and I might as well have a repair done. I was flumoxed, but realized as I talked with the gentlemen he was unable to do an estimate, they had sent a low level technician and I was being charged for my estimate. I had him repair an outlet. I was charged $162 to fix an outlet.
Then Roger calls the next day and says "I am to do your estimate." I took time off from work again and met him. I let him know I was unsatisfied that I had asked for an estimate, got switched with a technician that I thought was doing the estimate, and then charged.
When I went by to pay the bill, which totaled $162 (remember, I only had an outlet replaced) I was introduced to "Dave" I handed him the invoice and told him their charges were unacceptable for a free estimate. I said I knew that there was to be a $67 service fee if I had repairs ...he interrupted me and said very tersley and pointedly there was never any discussion of a $67 fee. He had the paper in his hand, and it clearly said "Service fee--$69." I knew he was not going to listen. I thanked him for his time and left. So, beware they overcharge, they attempt to pull you into repairs to pay for their "free estimate."
He also did an excellent job of explaining what was wrong and steps to prevent other damage.
"Dear customer, First I want to thank you for selecting Gulf Coast Electric to help you with your electrical problem, your business truly is appreciated. Second I want to thank you for taking the time to post a review about our performance on your job on Angie's List. Customer feedback is very important to us and helps us improve and it is always nice to get positive customer reviews and a good grade. Thank you. Happy Holidays to you and your family. "Member, Thank you very much for your kind comments. Your business is sincerly appreciated. Please let us know if we can be of future service for any of your electrical needs. Happy Holidays"
After a week of dealing with our home warranty company, whose referred company (R and R Electric) failed to respond to multiple dispatches and/or phone calls, we finally called Gulf Coast Electric ourselves. Within three hours of my first and only phone call to Gulf Coast Electric, we had an extremely proficient and honest technician (Dale) at our house; after one hour, all our issues were resolved. The office manager (Judy) was great to deal with, as was Dale.
"Member, Thank you for your nice comments about Gulf Coast Electric and our Staff. It is always rewarding to have another satisfied customer, that is what we strive for with every call. Your business is very much appreciated. Thank you"
"Member, This is what it is all about, usually customer service has it own rewards, thank you Member. We will pass this along to the service technician that attended your job. Thanks again. Don, VP"
"Dear Member, Thank you for the nice comments. This was a difficult and labor intense installation. We appreciate your understanding of the complications and thank you for your business and positive comments about our company."
"Dear Member Thank You for the good report. Our electricians hang a lot of standard ceiling fans throughout the year but few of them are of the "flush-mount " type. They assemble a little differently and take just a little longer to put together especially if they have a lite kit. I am glad your experience with us was a good one and we appreciate your business. In the future if you need any type of electrical service please call Gulf Coast Electric. Thank You"
