We were living in Georgia and purchased a retirement home in Destin Florida. We talked to many builders but used Dave because he was an established builder in Destin and every one we talked to recommended him as the best builder in our area. In addition we looked at a few of his prior projects and were very impressed. After a couple of meetings we felt he is very responsible and could build our home with little oversight while we lived in Georgia. We did come down about every other month to check on the progress and were always impressed with the progress and quality of work. Dave was always keeping us informed via the phone and when we called him he was always very responsive. I noted that his crew were all skilled in all phases of construciton, as well as electric and plumbing, and he had a dedicated foreman overseeing the build at all times. This minimized construction mistakes and kept the project on time. Dave's contracts are staight forward and easy to read. We knew that the payments we made were going directly to our project and were not requested until needed. I would recommend Dave Meyer to anyone wanting a quality job at a fair price.

Prompt response to request for estimate. David was very knowledgable and we were able to foresee any problems before they arose. Work was completed on time and within budget. We could not be happier with his work. We are using him next year for an interior renovation.

Job still in progress as of 7/19, but we could not be happier with the work so far. David has been very accommodating and flexible with both changes to the scope of work and with our desire to complete some of the work ourselves to keep costs down. Job has been on or ahead of schedule and within budget. Crew is extremely professional and their work is the highest quality we've seen (now on our third major remodel) - we can't say enough good things about these guys and their obvious pride in their work. Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! -- these are the sounds of a satisfied homeowner. I have been on the planet for 67 years, and I could write a book on the pitfalls of not doing everything yourself. I am a true cynic. So, when I take the time to write a review, it is because I appreciate an exception to the rule. If you are looking for the perfect contractor/crew, David Meyer is it! -- The initial site visit and subsequent quote submission were executed exactly according to schedule. -- Great price (I was cautious about contacting a contractor, as opposed to an individual, because I assumed the price would be higher - not so, I got three prior estimates.), convenient experience for homeowner, high quality results, motivated workers, many details taken care of without homeowner oversight, such as: plumbing, electrical, scaffolding, debris removal, clean-up, etc., etc. David Meyer's crew behaves as if they each want to have a permanent, full-time job and keep it! -- unusual for many who work in construction. They actually were time-urgent! Each day of work, the crew arrived at about 6:45 AM, fifteen minutes prior to starting work. The quality of materials/nails/screws/primer/paint/wood was all first rate... stainless steal/galvanized/oil-based/pressure-treated to withstand our harsh saltwater environment. David Meyer kept us aware of the plan for each day as we progressed. Method of payment and payment schedule was more than reasonable. Mr. Meyer obtained appropriate permits, as needed. The entire project was completed according to schedule and according to price. You won't do better!

This job had 3 overall bids, ranging from 6,000-11,000. Mr. Meyers came in the lowest and with his previous reviews on Angie's List I decided to go with David Meyer Builder. So far in the process, Mr. Meyer has been very responsive and VERY punctual. When he sets a time he is there on time if not early. His folks that have worked so far have been great, friendly and hard working. The work has not been completed yet and I will update the review as more work is performed. His communication with the customer is outstanding which is very important to me. He lets you know up front what the cost will be and why. He will sit down and run through the contract with you and any questions you may have. Bottom-line first.........I trust David; he is an honest man. Cost was reasonable compared to others. Work was outstanding. 1. We had a concept to construct a two level deck in our backyard area (one level covered an existing concrete pad and the other level was build over an existing retaining wall). David took our thoughts and made them better, more practical, and more visually appropriate. He offered advice but always listened to our thoughts and what we wanted. Design turned out much better than we anticipated. 2. David was very responsive. Met with us within a couple of days of my first phone call; one more organizational meeting a couple of days later and he had an estimate to us two days afterwards. Willing to meet with me whenever I asked for a meeting. Came to the job site every day that his crew was on site. 3. Crew was excellent. Work was outstanding. Always cleaned up at the end of each day. Great guys to talk to about the project. 4. Trust in David and his crew turned out to be critical. With work travel and a daughter in the hospital, neither my wife or I were in town for most of the construction. Never had a concern. I knew David would let us know if there was an issue or a question. 5. We love the finished project! 6. My wife an I are already discussing another project for David to help us with.

This was extremely reasonable price. He was timely, he was reliable. I trusted the people that he brought in my house, because I had to work while he was there doing this work. He made sure no dust went into my air conditioning unit. They were meticulous about their work in that regard. He kept by his contract with me. He said he would prep all the walls for painting, and when I got home I saw that the walls needed to be sanded. He immediately called the people he had doing the job, and had them come back and do what he said he would do for me. I didn't even have to ask him to do that.

Monetary and time line expectations were set and explained by the builder and those expectations were met as agreed in a smooth and timely manor. I look forward to doing business with David Meyer Builder again in the near future on another home renovation.

He brought the portion of home repaired up to current building codes. The home looks better than originally constructed. He was punctual, professional and completed the construction on time and below budget. I highly recommend this builder for new construction, remodeling and home repair of any kind
