Sta-Brite Refinishing

I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH STA-BRITE REFINISHING AGAIN. I have been sending Mark referrals for 11 years and now I feel guilty for doing so since I'm sure he has given my referrals similar runaround. If this is how he treats someone who sends a volume of referrals nobody else stands a chance. I hired Mark (Sta-Brite) to do three tubs in one week in different properties we own. He broke our shower door in the first property then refused to replace it. He said it "exploded in his hands and was not his fault." We had just had the place painted two days before so it was pretty easy to spot the big corner-shaped gouge in the wall where he had run the shower door into it and broke it when he was removing it. Plus he did a pretty rough job on the tub. In another property we paid him extra to "strip" the tub completely before applying the new finish. We were very specific that the former owner had used a home refinish kit and we wanted it completely stripped. When he arrived on site he said he thought he could get away with a "partial strip." We said "no we paid for and want a full strip." He then only stripped the bottom of the tub and of course the sides (which he didn't strip) started bubbling and pealing within weeks. He has been out there two additional times and each time promised to do the "full strip" on the tub as we had originally requested. Each time he did NOT do what we paid for as he promised and keeps doing the bare minimum only to have other issues pop up within days or weeks. He has since stopped responding to calls and texts so I have been forced to hire another refinishing company and pay a second time to get this job done properly. Terrible.

It took about two hours to complete, and looked brand new. Will it hold up? Time will tell, but the price was right and the materials were top shelf.

The agreed appointment was 3pm. I got home at 245p as the tech was just leaving, having been given access to the tub by a roommate. As the tech was talking about how his business resurfaces tubs and does other bathroom remodeling, I took a quick look at the work done and it seemed to be good. It wasn't until later when I actually used the tub that I found some small chips had not been tended to. Oddly, before the tech left, he had made a comment on the sloppy work done by someone else. His work was no better. It was less noticeable because he used a matching color. This business was sent to my home by a contractor who had done done tile work in the tub area and inadvertently chipped the tub in several places. He had attempted to repair the damage himself but the product he used didn't hold nor was it the matching color. So, he sent this company out, not having used it previously. I advised my contractor that, although I accept the work done, I strongly suggested he not use this business again because the workmanship does not meet his same standard of excellence.

I called to set appointment for an estimate. They arrived on time. I was quoted an estimate, made the appointment. They arrived, again, on time; they job was completed. The tub looked great. I have since had them refinish at least three other tubs and have recommended them to others. They do an excellent job and never leave a mess. Thanks, Sta-Brite Diane

They came in and performed the service in a couple hours. They used an exhaust fan, but the fumes are pretty strong. I would plan on being out for a while afterwards.
