Jim was referred to us and I'm really glad that he was! His pricing was very reasonable, and much less than another one I got. He scheduled us right away to beat our deadline so we can have our kitchen cabinets and counter tops replaced. We had already removed the popcorn off the ceiling so Jim came in and finished the work on that and did a lot of patch work on our kitchen.

Roof leaked and damaged a small area of ceiling and wall. Mr. Norton very professionally replaced the damaged area. He was very careful to minimize dust and debris in our kitchen. He is congenial, returns calls and easy to work with.

Does no respond to messages or calls.

I got estimate from Norton's online. I then called 4 times and left messages over a 2 month period to try to set up an appointment and received no response.

Mr. Norton returned my calls and texts within the same day and kept me up to date with schedule and arrival times. Work was excellent and made an old house look new on the inside. I definitely would use him again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to family and friends.

With the repair Jim did, you can't even tell the wall was damaged. He was on time and completed the repair quickly.

Excellent. Previous contractor really screwed up ceiling and Norton's fixed it and did an excellent job. Worked around my furniture, cleaned up and left no mess. Really nice guy and good price. Will be hiring again to fix garage ceiling damage.

I will do everybody a favor if you want to save time, money and have quality work performed - call Jim Norton first then after you spend your time interviewing and getting estimates from other drywall people you will realize that nobody compares with Jim. We had a large remodel job done by a handyman that even though he had great reviews did a horrible job with the new drywall he had installed and the texturing he had done in the whole house. If you need drywall work done hire a professional like Jim that knows his trade and not a handyman who is a jack of all trades and master of none. Why pay for a job to be done twice when you can hire Jim and get it done right the first time! There are other areas that still need to be redone from the original handyman remodel and Jim is the only person I will be calling when that time comes. Thanks again Jim!!!!

Very well. Jim came out and explained to me most of the damage was cosmetic on my kitchen side. No worry about the attic side. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. Also told me i could do it myself for a very small amount. He was very professional, nice guy. While I didn't need any work done, I felt I should leave a review recommending him to others. If i wanted the work done it would have been a 75 dollar service call to patch it up.

He did a great job. He also took the old popcorn ceiling off. Was very clean and efficient. Good price. We would definitely hire him again.

Though ours was a smaller job, Jim did an excellent job. Out of 8 contractors called, only 3 returned calls, and only 1 showed up. Jim arrived when he said he would on a Saturday morning, and did a good job of protecting items from dust or mud. He made quick work of the job, and was enjoyable to talk to as well. He is personable, kind, and does good work, what more could you ask for?

Very tidy in his work and his tools were nicely taken care of. He was clean and careful with my animals. Jim was very courteous and professional.

I spoke with Jim on April 1st, to discuss getting an estimate for removal of popcorn and redoing the ceilings. He scheduled to come out on Monday, April 4th. He was very courteous during his time looking at the ceilings, telling me it would take 4 days and cost $1,800. The options he explained were to have a smooth ceiling (which he said would be full of flaws due to sagging and time), an orange peel texture or knock down texture. I am familiar with the textured products and don't find them attractive. He asked for me to text him my email address and he would write up the estimate. At 8:23 a.m. on April 6th, I received his written estimate for $400. In my reply to him at 1:50 p.m., I asked if this is the correct amount and once again asked about the option of a smooth ceiling. When he replied at 3:26 p.m., he said that yes it is the price and that leaving it smooth would "show all the rolls and waves". In my 3:51 p.m., reply I told him that I was on the fence about using headboard or tongue and groove as an option but that for this price I was tempted to go ahead and have him do it. So I again asked "Jim, is $400.00 the total"? He responded by apologizing that he had sent the wrong estimate and a minute later followed up with the correct one for $1,800.00 After taking a couple of days to consider if this is the way to go I sent him one last email on April 9th. (Before spending this much money and going through so much mess, we wanted to make sure we could be happy with texture.) In it I fully explained that we have some hesitation about doing this because we don't like the texture very much and asked his opinion about the options of using a product to cover the popcorn and not have to deal with the work and mess of removing it. I also mentioned that if the sprayed on textures are intended to hide flaws, couldn't he achieve the same end by using a "skip trowel" method of spreading mud on the ceiling giving it more of a plaster look. I closed by asking his thoughts on the different options and the pros and cons. There has been no contact from him after that email. 0Although he was courteous during his visit, my two issues are sending an incorrect estimate and having to be repeatedly asked if it's correct then not responding at all to a potential client's questions. This seems to be a pattern among too many workers out there. It appears that want to devote a little time to quoting an estimate then have you commit to the work but they're not really interested in truly serving the customer or making sure it's the right choice for them. If someone no longer wants to do a job or isn't capable of providing the service the customer is requesting, a professional states that. Making a mistake in sending the wrong estimate is an easy mistake perhaps but should have been noticed in the first inquiry asking if it was correct. Not getting back to a customer is inexcusable and very unprofessional.

Jim did a great job of repairing the drywall in our pool bath, dining room and garage. He hung, taped, mud and textured all these areas and installed the base boards and chair rail moldings as needed. The areas he textured were very well done so that it is very difficult to notice the repaired sections of drywall. He was very professional and cleaned up after the job. The best part was he did this at 1/3 less than the other quotes we received. Would highly recommend him to anyone.

Jim did a great job. He was thoughtful and professional and called immediately when he had to reschedule. He did good prep work and cleaned up. He was very reasonable and his work was excellent. I would recommend him to anyone.

James and his partner both Drywalled my kitchen.they both showed up early and finished on time and on budget.they even went the extra mile to help me out on a few other things I needed.i would highly recommend them if you need any kind of drywall repair done.prices were very fair and they were professional and courteous.

Norton's drywall workers are trustworthy and do top-quality work. This is my second time using them in 11 years for major remodel/renovation work. Would easily request their services for our next remodel/reno project. They show up every time when they say they will, and communicate well during the process as needed. Trustworthy as well. I've had tools and other personal items in the work areas and never had to think twice about whether items would be missing.

I had previously had a wall removed between two rooms. You could tell where the other contractor had sprayed the popcorn material but you could tell where the room had previously been divided. Jim came in, removed all of it and resprayed the material. He even went out of his way to find the sparkle type to use. He did a great job cleaning up to. Jim is professional and so personable. My dogs even loved him! If I need more of this type of work done I will hire him again for sure!

He did an excellent job. He left the area excellent. He completed the job in a timely manner, but he always came in a little late.

After part of the ceiling in our garage collapsed we contacted a few contractors from Angie's list and after speaking with all of them we felt more comfortable with Jim Norton that he would be able to do a good Job. Jim came over and gave us three estimates one for repairing the collapsed section of the ceiling and one for ceiling repair and replacing the popcorn with knockdown and the third one for replacing the entire ceiling. He was very informative and professional and all his estimates were fair. We decided to go with replacing the entire ceiling since it was old. Jim showed up at the scheduled time, he covered all sides and floor of the garage. He was very neat in his work and he did a great job on the ceiling and completed the job on schedule. Jim was a professional, easy to work with and all around a nice guy. Within past 20 years, Jim has been one of the few contractors that I can say we have been very happy with his work.
