VAN'S COMFORTEMP AIR CONDITIONING

At most part they are very good. They can come the next day you need it. I use them for at least 20 years now and I only had one problem with them, one serviceman told me I needed a new air conditioning system. I hired another company and they were able to fix it. I called them to complaint the salesperson and they told me they fired him already. Very polite and knowledgeable.

It has gone terrible. We had a new air conditioning unit installed in 2010 and since then we've had to have Van's come out 8 times to repair it. Everytime they've come out we've had to pay for the repairs on a system that should've worked to begin with, and we've spent over $1000 extra. In addition to the 8 times Van's has come out to work on the A/C, we had another company start coming because we had to drop Van's. The other company let us know that some of the parts should have been under the warranty on the A/C. Van's has not answered any letters or phone calls about resolving this issue and the additional money I've had to spend. Carrier should also stand behind their product, even though it appears that it's the installation by Van's that is causing all the problems. Carrier should stop distributing their product to a company that can't install it. STAY AWAY from Van's. I'd also like to note that Florida is not a consumer friendly state, so whenever you have a complaint be prepared to have it dismissed.

We had been serviced by them for 10+ years, yet in the past two years, since our unit was going pass the 10 year marker, all we heard was you 'need a new unit' every time they came out to do the PMs. Then the problems started, leaks here and there adding Freon every time they came out and supposedly, the compressor was over heating (and going bad) causing the air unit to not cool. Last time we called for service were not given an estimated time of arrival and the Technician called from 1 hour away at 10:30 PM. In view of the distance and time we were told that we would get serviced by 9 AM next day... never got the call until they were at the gate at 10:30 AM. One thing which bothered me was I would call for the service date and after a short pause, them looking up our account, the first thing we were told was that our unit was 11/12 years old. What was the relevance of this? We were told because they would send out a more senior Tech whom knew how to PM these older models, yet that was not the case. New Techs were being sent out a number of times lately whom appeared to have very little experience with our 10+ unit and were only taking 15-20 minutes to provide the semi-annual PM's we had prepaid; but they didn't waist time telling us we needed a new unit while they were doing the PM's. Then immediately quotes for a new unit were presented and then we were given 48 hrs to sign the quote and get credit back for the Freon refill they had put in, yes 48 hrs, when we had been a customer for 10+ years. We obtained a blind second opinion from another AC specialist (from Angie's List and rated 'A') and the compressor is fine and the unit is in excellent conditions. If we have a small Freon leak it is very hard to detect; therefore, we have options. The cost of replenishing the Freon is (same lbs.) would be $168.00 versus $463.00. No sales pushing, just honest service focusing on getting the unit fixed. We are truly disappointed and have no plans on having them service our unit ever again.

Van's Comfortemp Air Conditioning has a great contract plan. They come twice a year and if you have a problem they will give you priority service if you sign the contract. There is no waiting for repairs. They provide an excellent service.

Ok. AC not very cold in the room. Called back to have them check it they did come at no cost. It sounded like not charging me was a favor instead of what was the right thing to do. Tech said he adjusted flow. Little better, but not $550 worth.

Excellent job. This company is top notch. It is one of only a few companies that power and light company allows to direct bill energy efficiency credits when installing a system. Not only was their installation great, their service contracts are very reasonable. They hire very knowledgeable staff. Always professional.
