I called several times to try to discuss my project. First time she was with a customer and said she'd call back in a few hours. A few days later I called again; she was busy and said she had lost my number before. She sounded irritated that I had called but said she'd call back at a certain time. She called late and continued to sound irritated. She gave me short, clipped answers to my questions and couldn't explain how she would present her recommendations (pictures, color swatches, diagrams? No - an Excel spreadsheet. Really?). Obviously didn't use her services.

From the very first appointment (using an Angie's deal for a 2 hour design consultation) in April 2014 throughout the last 16 months, Sarin Design has worked patiently within my timeline and budget to transform the dowdy interior of my 1970's ranch home from drab into a beautiful 'sanctuary' reflecting a new look that beat any vision that I had on my own and prior to working with Sandra. This was my first time working with an interior designer and the Angie deal for 2 hours was the right price to step in and understand the process and pricing along with whether my project would be a fit for Sarin Design and them for me. My home was a small project in contrast to the larger and more expensive projects in the area.. My other priority was seeing if my inarticulate 'non-design' gibberish/terminology was able to be translated into what I was trying to say or whether I would be pressured into the current colors and trends even if my personal selections were not current. If there was a 10 star rating system in this category, Sandra would get 11 stars. Like most people, I had a budget but I was not in a rush nor had any particular deadline. I was willing to wait to get it right and make slow purchases along the way as my budget permitted. I knew this was not the traditional approach where entire rooms were decided at once. I've been plodding along piece by piece at my own turtle pace. Sandra's patience and professionalism never wavered. I waited to write this review because of that slow pace and so I could show a before/after with walls painted, fabrics selected, window treatments installed and several pieces of furniture purchased. I have a new custom sofa which looks exactly as I pictured in a fabric that will withstand my 3 dogs, a beautiful merchant rack that will hold my TV, a gorgeous new chair in the softest fabric, and the most exquisite linen dining room window treatments that match the walls, floor and the decor perfectly. My home has been transformed due to Sarin Design.

You can probably get her several ways. She is quite good at listening to what I want and working with me in terms of my choices, which I think is the key thing. Some designers are told what we want and they create what we want, but it is more their design. This was much more us wanting our design and her assisting us with our design. That would be the reason to go with her; if you want your own design and you want some help doing it. Big difference in the design world. Some people don't want to bother. We had some furniture pieces that we wanted to integrate into it and she was great with that. She was quite good to work with.

Sandy was great to work with! We were remodeling a 1988 house near the beach and pretty much had to re-do the entire house. She is a sweetheart, very easy to talk to and she really listens to what you like. She took me to some marble companies to select countertops, tile place to pick out floor and bathroom tiles, and brought paint samples and helped select colors for the entire house. Then she also designed bathroom cabinets for 3 bathrooms: pool bath, master bath, and guest bath. She had a guy build the cabinets and they came out great! I would definitely use Sandy again. In fact, I am getting her help on selecting a paint color for the outside of our house! She is very fair and can quickly pull together a "look" for any room. Give her a shot, you won't be disappointed!

She was very reasonable and very sweet. The team was the best group we could have asked for. She located a great crew of hard workers. They did everything we asked and more, I purchased all the materials but they put the home together essentially from the ground up. All the guys were very helpful and kind ( Just like Sandra).

I was very happy with our visit. Sarin design moved furniture and helped me choose a color. I have not completed the room as yet because I am having the popcorn ceiling removed. I am very sure with that done the room will look so much better, using the color we chose.

It was fine. She worked with me on a whole design, and I had a few meetings with her. She was a very competent young woman. I was very happy with her design.

She was nice, she came over and I like her. She gave me some ideas on how to set my picture frames, how to decorate my living room and some other ideas for my hallway. She was very affordable, the package was good and the service she provided on me is the one that I need. She save my budget.

Our experience was good. My wife was very happy with her. She was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. She gave some good ideas about what to do with our space.

She was polite and on time. Gave me a wealth of information. I would definitely use her again.

Excellent service. Very prompt, professional, friendly and helpful. We bought a 'daily deal' because we thought we could use a hand selecting window treatments. We did not know what to expect and were pleased with the entire service. Sarin gave plenty of ideas for "sprucing up" our home, in fact she discussed ideas for each room! The $59.00 we paid for the 'daily deal' was so worth it. We plan to use this design service again and would recommend it to our neighbors.

She is easy to work with from the beginning. Very flexible and sensitive to the client's needs and taste. She did a great job turning our outdated style house to a beautiful contemporary style.

We would highly recommend her, and are still using her. Unlike other decorators we've used, she listens and strives not to spend unnecessary dollars. She's busy, but made time for us.

What started off promising ended up becoming a waste of time setting me back 3 weeks thanks of her "busy" schedule and indecisiveness. If you are seeking someone who will treat you more as an afterthought and wont keep a promise (and change the deal at end) then look no further than Sandra. I was a fool to believe all of her "pages of references", don't make the same mistake. Reply to her comment Regarding the contract, had I known she wanted $1K upfront instead of telling me 3 weeks into the project, I would NEVER had agreed. I found that completely DISHONEST. Verbal agreements with her are meaningless. Caveat Emptor!

Sandra Rautins is the sole proprietor of Sarin Design. She has been knowledgeable, professional, creative, and sensitive to our wants and needs. From our first meeting there has been a positive energy in our interactions. To start, Sandra listened attentively to our goals and requirements, asking questions as necessary to clarify She has been punctual to all of our meetings and has met agreed completion times for all work. For each element of the project, Sandra has presented us with a variety of options based on our needs and desires. We have reviewed those and eventually reached agreement of a plan for that element, for instance a bathroom. Sandra then proposes specific products that might be used to effect the desired result. When necessary, she has taken us to suppliers to view product options. Her designs are creative and she has demonstrated an excellent knowledge of available products and materials. Once a selection has been made, she reviews pricing against budget. In this process, she has always been sensitive to budget constraints. In those cases where the initially selected materials prove to be too expensive, she has proposed less expensive alternatives to achieve the same effect. Visits with her to suppliers have been very helpful and she always seems to have a good relationship with the supplier's representatives with whom she works. While she has not previously worked with our general contractor for the project, they are working together very well and share a number of contacts in the trades. One interaction impressed us very strongly. We had gone to a kitchen and bath cabinet showroom to look at cabinetry for the master bath. Their proposal came in far over budget. Sandra took the design to a cabinet maker with whom she works and came back to us with a proposal for cabinets of similar design and construction but at about half the price. This made it possible for us to get the effect we wanted and stay within our budget guidelines.

Finding a decorator can be a nerve recking task. We never thought we'd find someone who could not only help us realize the type of look we wanted, manage a strict budget, and be on schedule and accessible. We were a bit nervous when we first met with her, because honestly she was very attractive and looks more like a model than a decorator, but boy were we wrong. Sandra was breath of fresh air. She orchestrated everything with grace and made sure to stay on top of the various contractors. She talked us into a couple of things we never thought we'd like, and now we're so glad we did them! She was even willing to incorporate our aquarium and certain pieces of furniture we were attached to and made them work with everything else. :-) We highly recommend Sandra and will continue to use her services for many years.

The results where great. From the beginning she was right on track and finished on time as promised. Overlooked all the work being done with the floors as well as window treatments. All work was completed on time.

Working with Sandy was a wonderful experience, she is very professional, thorough and detail oriented. She understans her clients desires and needs, and delivers. I fully recommend her.
