Response from Palm Beach Kitchens & Interiors
This valued member had a beautiful home, and had made some lovely improvements to it over time. We went around together and assessed the many many ways, in detail, that she could make small and large changes that would improve each room in her house, and add value to her home. When I left he consultation, this Valued Member thanked me and told me that she hadn't thought of the things I had recommended and would put the ideas into use. These ideas implemented would have increased her value by thousands of dollars, as they always do. The improvements we discussed entailed work that was described in detail and the proposed cost of it at the time, which was a large amount in the thousands because of many inherent size limitations in the rooms. My recommendation was to do the small things that involved the interior such as furniture removal, and then get back to me if she and her husband still felt that she needed to spend such a large amount of money changing spaces drastically in order to sell her home. I did not recommend it, and also did not receive a further request to do the work. Therefore since I did not receive any further communication from this Valued Member, I guessed that she agreed with my recommendation. I'm sure the $20,000-$25,000 of materials, labor, time and attention it would have taken to make the changes was money that the Valued Member's family was, in this case, more beneficial to them in other ways. Value and ROI needs to be considered when selling a home, and in this case, it was not there. I wish the Valued Member all the best!
