I really had different ideas than the decorator did. She was really pushing me to make purchases immediately which I didn't want to do. I also was not comfortable with her actually making the purchases for me...she would receive a decorators discount and keep that as well as the hourly fee she charged. In the store she was rude to the salespeople and very demanding . I was so embarrassed that I went back in alone to apologize and that is when I was told that the store provides free decorating service PLUS a 10% discount for working with them...and they suggested paint colors, picture hanging ideas, etc. They came to my house for free and their ideas were more in tuned to what i wanted. I really feel as though I threw $400 out the window.

The service was ok. She came over and spent couple of hours in my home. She went over different colors and furniture arrangements. She made suggestions on what I could do to improve the general feel of the place. She wanted to make it into a full scale redesign of the whole apartment which would have run into thousands. I am still considering it at this point and I haven’t done it. I thought she was very knowledgeable of her field. She is a designer and I thought she knew pretty much how to coordinate colors and shades. She really had a handle on getting a flow through the apartment which I thought was important. She knew her stuff. It was a big deal purchase.

She did a detail walk thru of the my house and gave valuable staging ideas of which I had not thought.

We called the company because we had a grout problem, and they sent someone to inspect the grout. They gave us an estimate to fix the it. I knew the tile was 20 years old, so I asked about our options to replace the tile. They mentioned that they worked with a designer, and after a brief phone interview with the company, the designer came out with the colors I was interested in. It was a porcelain tile from the Boston Design Center. They have a special deal with them so they were able to save me a lot of money on the tile. My kitchen back splash looks fantastic and the craftsmanship is excellent. It was a fun experience and I would recommend this company highly.

We invited Moore Home Staging and Design back to our new home for remodeling advice. The designer first recommended hiring an architect to ascertain the structure and the possibilities to expand and build at our 1876 historic Andover bungalow. She advised us that it is a "modified saltbox." We then called Tracy back to work with our architect and refine the design so that our space would function better for us on a day to day basis. She tweaked and expanded the kitchen area to add cabinet space by using space that was already on the plan. She reviewed the architect's plan, and walked through it with us so that we were able to see and "feel" the day to day realities, and checked in with us to see if we were satisfied with it, and i it lived up to our wish is. Tracy saw an area of space on the plan that was interfering with one of the best qualities of our space, and pointed it out to us. She then worked out a new plan to save a charming area that the architect had overlooked, and made a better use of windows, light and wall space, and flow of our first floor, simply by walking us through it, and moving some walls around. It completely opened up and updated the space, and maintained the old charm of the house. She measured and marked out the exterior walls and interior walls, doorways and fixtures with blue tape to show us, for bathroom and closet. Brilliant! Tracy then remodeled the main existing bath in way that will help us refinance our home, and position us with better value. This is also helping us live through our extensive remodeling plan with sanity, and for a very reasonable amount of cost. Tracy added an enormous amount of value to our house, and priceless planning insight. I will highly recommend Moore Home Staging and Design to others.

First of all, the company advertised that they had a designer to help with tile choice and the layout of the design. We were skeptical about this, but they listened to what we wanted to do, and then had us set up an appointment with the designer. When she came out, she was very professional and knowledgeable and made sure everything was in keeping with our house. She reviewed all the choices we were making, from wall color to faucet style and finishes, and lighting. Then she made some tile recommendations that were low maintenance and really gorgeous. We didn't know what was out there, and the designer showed us some things we didn't know about that really updated everything. We shopped around, and New England Tile Pros helped us again, we got a much lower price on the tile. We saved around $600 on it. Everything was chosen for the bathroom by the time we scheduled New England Tile Pros to come out, partly because of the designer. One day the guys showed up a little later than they said they would arrive, but overall they were professional. The workmanship was outstanding, and they patiently answered our questions. Great experience! We have recommended them to some of our friends. We will use them again.

She was enthusiastic and responsive, though I sometimes felt like she was advocating her preferences instead of responding to mine. Overall, I thought she was wonderful. My only criticism is that her recordkeeping was not professional and given that I am so busy, I needed her to keep track of things better.

Tracy Mullane is the name of the design consultant. She was professional and we talked with ease. I gave Tracy a tour of the condo, pointing out the areas about which I was concerned. We first focused on the living room. Because I had no space large enough to sit 4-6 people for dinner, we worked around the idea of putting a dining area in the living room, and separating it so both areas would be distinct and comfortable. We looked at table size, rugs, and space needs, and came up with a design which I really liked. She measured the room and drew the layout on graph paper to scale. She was sensitive to my needs, including my desire to include furniture that was handed down from a previous generation. We talked about color, lighting, and design techniques which would enhance the look of the condo in general. She evaluated the kitchen and office areas, and provided sound ideas for both.Because there is a pass-through between the kitchen and soon-to-be dining area, we reviewed some paint colors for the kitchen that would provide the impression of space. She ordered large paint samples right away, which I received the following day. We considered some options (moving the TV into the extra bedroom, adding a closet and more storage space, etc) and how they would fit into the design we came up with. I was very pleased to have found Tracey through Angie's list. Tracey is both thoughtful and knowledgable. She listened well, a skill I considered essential to the effective communication between us. She provided me with options for moving forward. She has companies and people lined up to address all areas of the design. I would certainly recommend her highly. She did what she said she would do, and did it well.

We asked her about staging and all of her ideas were very elaborate. Our real estate agent came in and told us we only had to move a few things around which we did and our house sold in an hour. She wanted us to spend a lot of money we didn’t have to spend.

My design consult with Tracy was very helpful. She helped me select colors for the kitchen, dining and livingroom. I ended up with colors that really looked amazing and we continue to get compliments over our color choice. She had swatches of colors you might not find in the hardwars store, but that a paint store is able to match. She was very pleasant and took the time to make sure I was happy with the selection. Tracy also gave suggestions on what to do to update the kitchen cabinets, and changes to make in the livingroom and dining with decor and pictures. I would call on her again and suggest her for my friends and family.

Tracy arrived a little later than scheduled but otherwise was her usual highly-professional self. She encouraged already meticulous homeowners to step-up to the next level in their home's staging. Prospective buyers are enthralled with how the home presents.

Loved the paint chip color selection. But the colors did not work on our house. Had to get recommendation from someone else.

It went fine. I've never had anything like that before so I don't have anything to compare it to. We have a lot of remodeling projects going on and I don't know how to place the furniture. We have a weird place in our house with a lot of doorways leading into it and she was helpful identifying what might work. Not that we have settled on anything yet. That's what I was hoping for, scale and ideas for function. That's what she was helpful with, ideas, future thoughts, and planning. She was very nice and pleasant. She listens and is very thoughtful. I wasn't sure what I wanted so she was very patient, which was very nice. She was very aware that people get the impression that she might be trying to get paid by the hour or rush them. She's very honest about not wanting to rush people. She gave us some thoughts and then asked to see the whole house because I had mentioned other rooms were torn apart. We talked about those rooms too. She did a good job, it's tough because you walk into a very traditional house and we are very contemporary people. She picked up on light fixtures that we had already changed out. She sat down with a notepad and wrote out different things and ideas to check out. We had a very nice conversation. It was very helpful and inspiring. She gave recommendations to different furniture places. It was offered to give her a call, and she explained how to design it and go out and buy the furniture and stuff. I thought it was a great deal. She was waiting for a call, and notified me before hand. She was very attentive. She was a little late, but she called ahead. We both had a little bit of a timing issue. It was nothing that I would discount her for.

We started off a bit dubious as we weren't sure that we got what we expected from the initial visit, which had increased in cost from the web site, but in the end the result was fantastic. Tracy was usually late arriving, but she was also working on her daughter's wedding, which took place in the middle of our project. However, she works quickly and has incredible taste with both design and color. We started out mainly wanting help with colors for painting. We had already done a lot in decluttering our home by taking a lot of stuff to a storage locker. We had already lined up a number of contractors from Angie's list for carpet, hardwood floor work and deck staining, handy work, etc. and our landscaping was already beautiful. After talking to Tracy however we went with hybrid package that would allow us to continue to oversee all of the work except for the painting while using her for all of the design work. It did make a difference that I would be home all day. We already had a pretty nice house with some good pieces of furniture, but Tracy quickly picked the items that would stay and those that would go. She also arranged for us to rent a few pieces of furniture, and she brought in other items including a large rug and some art for us to use. Additionally we added granite to two of the bathrooms. My husband and I also worked extremely hard at night making sure that all of the furniture was moved from whatever area was going to be worked on the next day. Even though a lot of our furniture is not expensive Tracy was able to make the house look great. Our realtor had come in while all of the work was in progress, and she had decided to list the house for $610,000. When she came back after the work was done, she upped the listing price to $624,900. Admittedly we live in a town with very highly rated schools, and right now it is a seller's market,and we have a good size house that is only ten years old, but after the pictures went out on the internet we had eleven showings first day, three the next day, an open house with a huge number of people the third day, and on the fourth day we compared our eleven offers and chose the one for $653,000 that included $50,000 in escrow in case they didn't close. Everyone commented on how much they loved the home. The buyer's realtor even said that it was one of the nicest homes that she had seen in town, and there are certainly a lot of houses that are priced higher than ours. Overall we are extremely happy with Tracy and with our results, and we don't feel that we would have gotten nearly as much for our home if the design work had not been done.

Tracy responded to my request for help to re-arrange my living room and asked to fill out a multi-page questionnaire in preparation for the meeting. I sent my answers back to her a week in advance. The day of the appointment she was 10min late and obviously didn't even bother to read my answers because she didn't have a clue of what my needs are. She draw some pretty bad sketches of the floor plan, took a picture of them with her phone and sent it to me. That was it for her "professional" services as a designer. There was not even a mention of color which was suppose to be a part of the deal. I could have done the same over a glass of wine with my girlfriend while having a much better time. I was expecting a professional designer services to be, let say "more professional".

This was an excellent deal. Everything went as planned with some great ideas.

Like many people, I find challenging and anxiety-provoking the tasks of envisioning what it is I want to do with a room, working my way through the large number of paint colors out there, and coming to a final decision. Two prior experiences I had with interior decorators added to my lack of enthusiasm for my current project of multi-room painting and selection of window treatments for one room. The other decorators clearly operated on the principle that I should accept what they thought rather than helping me to arrive at my own view. When I did not do so, there was tension between us. I felt that they were both rather condescending, uninterested in listening to what I wanted, and inappropriately impatient. Despite these former unpleasant encounters, I needed help so decided to try again. Angie's came along with a Big Deal with Tracy, and I was lucky enough to make the decision to take it. With Tracy, my experience has been not only markedly different but also totally enjoyable. From the beginning, she listened to my rather inarticulate accounts of what I wanted, and very quickly caught on to and clarified most helpfully for me what I was trying to do. She was amazingly patient, had so many good ideas, and I felt no sense of pressure or unpleasantness when I'd change my mind about something. Tracy would simply switch gears and go where I was. Gone were the impatience and condescension I had previously experienced with decorators. I never felt that I was somehow deficient in needing help on my project or not having all the answers. In contrast, I'm going to end this effort with an enhanced sense of confidence in my own abilities, thanks to Tracy's style of working and graciousness. My project became our project, and was transformed from a chore into an exciting adventure. I cannot recommend Tracy highly enough.

Tracey Mullane came prepared to give me specific recommendations on improving the staging, or look, of my home. She was pleasant throughout, and creative and resourceful in her feedback. She also quickly followed up with some pictures of the kind of wall structure she had recommended which I could not visualize. Very professional, pleasant and prompt in her follow up. I think she spent a bit more than the hour I had hired her for.

Ms. Moore arrived a little late due to weather. Spent about an hour and a half talking with us. She seemed to want to spend time at quite an expensive hourly rate to shop with me. She did say she would arrange for contractors to work with us and set up a 5:00 pm meeting for the following week. When the day arrived for her and her contractors to come to discuss what was needed to be accomplished, she called and canceled. Which made us feel she wasn't reliable. She also sent me a picture of an area rug she thought would be perfect and in my opinion it was "Not Me". We decided Ms. Moore was not the right interior designer for our project.

Tracy is extremely knowledgeable with colors, current, and upcoming trends in home design as well as staging. She has a list of reputable service people in the area which is hard to find when you are dealing with contracting out for services like flooring, painting, etc. She spent a lot of time going over each room and making sure the color was just right for my living room. I would use Moore Home Staging and Design again without any hesitation and hope to in the future if needed.

It went great. She was on time, polite, and professional.
