Description of Work: I opted for a "7 day guaranteed install". This involved selected from a group of carpets that they guaranteed were in stock and could be installed in 7 work days from purchase. This was nonsense. It took 6 work days to get the carpet to the installers and they didn't want to schedule the install till they actually received it. Time of install wasn't given till the morning of the install. They said I would receive a $50 gift certificate if they failed to meet the 7 days, and they failed. I haven't gotten that or been offered that. Also, the way they charge for furniture moving is ridiculous. A moderately sized flat screen TV being moved costs an extra $75 and any "wall unit" even a small antique china cabinet cost an extra $75 to move in addition to the base furniture moving charge even if there are only 2 pieces of furniture in the whole room. I do give them points for sending a picture of the installers prior to the install but I found them irritating to deal with and not at all apologetic for not meeting their own commitment. That being said, I give kudos to the installation company (an independent subcontractor) which did a nice job. (I can't even figure out where the seam is.) Home Depot should not promise what they can't deliver and they should revise their costs on furniture moving.

Description of Work: Home Depot sold and installed a ceramic tile floor on my screened porch. I went in the store initially, and they sent out a rep to measure and price the job. I selected tile in the store--big selection. The installation went well and on schedule. The installer was one of the nicest workers I had ever had on any job, and he did a beautiful installation which has drawn compliments from friends who have seen it. I didn't shop price. I wanted the assurance that I had from Home Depot that they would stand behind any installation they sold, had adequate liability and workers comp, would be there later if I needed them. I think I paid a fair price. There was a problem. Some of the tile they delivered was mismatched. I didn't notice it, but the installer did immediately. The store sent out two employees who had to pick up a new box of tile from another store. They took care of the mishap in half an hour. Gil Schechtman Delray Beach

+ -1 moreHome Depot is the most competent people to deal with. Workmen showed up when they were supposed do and did a clean, neat fantastic job! The designer Reina, computer designed the cabinets as my requirements for space and types. Workmanship of installer was superb. I did not have to pay anything for a full year. Based on my experience I would use Home Depot for anything that they are capable of doing. Even though they sub out jobs to individual workmen, you deal with them if there are any problems. You don't have to worry that someone you hired has gone out of business or need to chase them to come back for adjustments/repairs.
Description of Work: We had them rip out our old kitchen and install new kitchen cabinets and some new appliances.
