Affordable Kitchen & Bath Refacing Inc

Affordable was recommended to me by a friend who was going through the same kind of renovation. Their salesman, Nelson, came at the arranged time and, once he looked at my home, seemed to know just what I would like and what would work with the decor. When I made my selections, he was careful to include everything in the contract. Note: Affordable does not do floors, which I needed, but Nelson actually owns a floor store - Medina Rugs - and I ultimately arranged to have him redo my floors (prior to the other parts of the renovation). Nelson accompanied me to the supplier where I picked out my granite and backsplash, and was very helpful in picking out coordinating items. My original idea was to just do the kitchen, but as there would be extra granite, I added the powder room and guest bath to the project. From that point on, I dealt with Ken, the owner of Affordable. He brought over the people responsible for each part of the renovation, so they could do the precise measurements. Dates were set up and, much to my surprise, everyone showed up as promised, on the exact date and time. The process began with the installation of the granite, which also required a plumber to put in new sinks and a garbage disposal. That took and day and a half. When that was done, on the second afternoon (a Friday), the kitchen backsplash was put in. On Monday morning, the cabinet people arrived, and it took only a day and a half to complete the job. Ken came by each day to look things over. At one point, he didn't like parts of the granite installation and called them back to fix it. The professionals that did the work treated my home like their own and cleaned up meticulously before they left the house. I joked that they might give contractors a 'good name'. Indeed, about a week after the job was completed, I noticed that the water spout on my kitchen door was not working. I called Ken and he had the plumber back in my house within the hour (it was just a kinked line). I was exceptionally pleased with all of their work and would recommend them without hesitation, as would the friend who recommended them to me. I had rather dreaded going through a renovation, but they made it easy, and I am thrilled with the results. Great job.

I would recommend if you use this provider that you read through your contract with a fine tooth comb. I was too trusting of a person and thought that the verbal agreements being made were the same as the ones being wrote up. I did not triple check my contract. This was my error because at the time of installation I did not get what I thought I was paying for. One large item and one small item were left off. In the beginning we met with Nelson. Our meeting last 3 hours. Picking out what we thought were all the details. We were wrong. The one upgrade we allowed was a cabinet with the pull out garbage can rollers. We spent 20-30 mins going over this with Nelson. A new cabinet was to be created for this specific use. Later I found out the cabinet he wrote up wouldn't even support this garbage unit. So not only did I not get my only upgrade allotted but I now have a cabinet that can not even support what I desire. At the installation I discussed this with Ken (owner & GC). He would not honor Nelson's promise, said it wasn't on the contract. Only after verbally saying that I was very upset by this did he even offer a small (free for everyone) single trash can roller for under my sink. Then he proceeded to tell me what a great deal he got from his distributor on a large purchase of these items. As the installation progressed we found another item missing from our discussion with Nelson, below the cabinet light molding. I called to discuss this with Nelson directly, this was two items now missing. He denied that we discussed this, told me I was incorrect and I quote "I thought for a minute that I had made a mistake it would be coming from my commission and I would fix it". Ken proceeded to say it was not on the contract again and did nothing to compensate for the error. Throughout the day we found mistakes with the backsplash that had to be repaired, and then another one even later that night were and area under my window was not grouted. My granite counters have scratches on them I am told was from the manufacturer and nothing can be done about them. There is a huge (almost inch gap) were they had to raise my breakfast bar from the wall to make it level. This was not going to be addresses until we pointed it out. Then they only filled the gap with caulk and you can still tell a huge difference. The cabinet refacing is beautiful, mike and his wife did a wonderful job and were great! Everyone I met was pleasant, but the level of accountability was very poor. At the end of the day we will not be using them for the three bathrooms we need done and I have already told my two friend who are looking to only use them with caution and to NOT use Nelson.

I had a really good experience with the project manager the people who came out for the estimate. The project manager came out on site at least a few times to check in on the project. I was very impressed by that. Two technicians and a tiler came out and completed the job in about 2 days. They all had great personalities and were very efficient. They are a husband an wife team and they were very knowledgeable. They were a good team and great with the cleanup afterwards. I had no problem scheduling the project.

My cabinets were refaced by the previous owner to look like leather, with black edges. They were really quite unattractive. I researched cabinet refacing, and found Affordable Kitchens and Baths. I had another quote before theirs which was almost double with what Affordable quoted. Ken,the owner was a pleasure to deal with and set up an appointment with Nelson for my cabinets to be measured and for me to pick out the doors, trim and hardware I wanted. Once cabinet doors were in, his installers, Mike and his wife, came in and replaced the doors with beautiful white doors with really nice trim. We even added two sets of glass doors to the mix. They finished in two days...and the look took my breath away, really. I could not believe it was the same kitchen. I will use them again to refinish my bathroom cabinets which are out of date. They are on Angie's List. They were fantastic and really good. It was somewhere between $15000 and $16000. There wasn't anything that I disliked honestly. They did a superb job and came when they said that they were going to come. They were meticulous in what they did and it was just an all around good experience. They were really a good company. I've actually recommended them to a neighbor.

From start to finish, everything went perfectly. There was one small area that was marred during manufacturing that was replaced in 2 days. Couldn't be happier!!

The experience was great from start to finish. It started with Nelson, the one who showed us all of the options and gave us a quote right there on the spot. Our kitchen was the original built with the house in 1992. The cabinets were in good shape and were clear maple. The counters were white Formica. Completely outdated. We wanted to go darker with the cabinets and granite for the counters and back splash. We went with the Thermofoil refacing and opted for both sides of the doors and underneath the cabinets. We went with a tier 2 granite which was middle of the price tiers (1 to 3) and found exactly what we wanted. The complete kitchen was about $12,000. Then we had them build a custom booth for an irregular shaped breakfast nook. The benches provide storage inside and the table was built as a cabinet with a piece of granite for the top that was the same as the kitchen counter tops. We had been wanting a "booth" for this nook for years and they did a fantastic job. This added about $8,000 to the job. Ken oversaw all of the work and was very good to deal with. Mike was the cabinet guy and did an awesome job. He is a stickler for details and made sure everything was exactly as he would want it for his house. We'll definitely be calling them when we're ready to re-do our bathrooms.

Everything went as promised. The crew was professional, organized, polite, explained everything that was to take place and additionally, showed respect for my concerns and my home. The work was completed ahead of schedule and everything was left spotless. I was comfortable and secure with Ken's professional ideas and impressed by the way his crew resolved my problem. I am very satisfied with this service, would use them again if necessary and highly recommend Affordable Kitchens.

We are extremely pleased with the results of our kitchen cabinet refacing! From our initial in-home visit advising of our options to the actual installation our expectations were exceeded! The owner, Ken Sandvoss, was present at the visit to measure the cabinets and reviewed the selections made to ensure that end product would match our wishes. He graciously made a change to the plan after the contract was signed as I had changed my mind about increasing the depth of a cabinet. I received the changes in writing within days. We were advised that the cabinets could take a two to three weeks for delivery. We received a call and advised they were in within a week. We were able to have them installed immediately. The installers, Mike and Lori, were extremely pleasant. They worked non-stop for over 7 hours and did an amazing job! It truly looks like I have a new kitchen! Everyone involved in the project was punctual and courteous. I will recommend them to my friends and family!

My overall experience with them was good. They did an excellent work. I, however, did not like the fact that I chose the wrong material for lack of better experience. I wanted wood initially, but I was told that would was not good because it would crack, it would dry and it is not good for the kitchen. The thing that they had the experience and I went with what they told me, frankly I am not happy but that is my fault not theirs. I would have appreciated a more honest opinion than just if you buy this product this product is good. Their salesperson was very professional. As far as the quality itself, it was satisfactory. Professionalism and quality is something that I always look forward to.

It was an absolute pleasure every step of the way. Nelson[the salesperson] was the first person I met with.he was punctual, professional and such a pleasure to deal with.After picking out my cabinets,which included the pulls of my choice as well as the sink of my choice with faucet and soap despenser, he took me to the showroom to pick out my granite. When they came to measure the countertops and cabinets,everyone was just so very nice and VERY clean when they finished the job!! The cabinet makers, Mike and Laurie were amazing. Not only were they very personable their work was impeccable. My dog even loved them and that means an awful lot!! I will use them again in the futere for my bathrooms.

Ken called today 11/12 after my original review that stated we did not receive a call back. At this point I believe that this company did make an attempt to call us back but for some reason the call did not register on our answering machine. For that I apologize to Ken.We are meeting his salesperson this Saturday and we are looking forward to exploring what Affordable Kitchen & Bath has to offer.

They ran very late BUT they called and told us they were going to be late due to prior job complications. Fast and clean!

we were going to get our kitchen cabinets refaced by this company and we also were getting estimates from 4 other companies for granite countertops. This company measured 95 sq. ft. and everyone else measured 55 sq.ft. Plus they were going to charge us 3,000 more than all of the other estimates. Because of this we did not use them for the refacing of our cabinets. I would advise everyone to get plenty of estimates before you get work done by these people.

The gentleman arrived promptly, was a great help in making my selection and then did a beautiful job installing a new kitchen counter. He worked professionally and left the premises clean and me a very happy customer.
