Waterfilter USA

In early 2010 I decided to put a whole house water filtration system into my home water system. I live in a rural area and our water supply is a well that taps into the Florida aquifer . I performed an extensive review of the systems available at the time, and concluded the Pelican PSE-2000 Premium Whole House Filter and Softner system sold by WaterFilter-USA (a front for Pelican) would do the job for us in terms of price/performance. Pelican systems are designed for homeowner installation. I called WaterFilter-USA and had extensive conversations with their representative, Ron. He was very helpful and professional. After I ordered the system, I had a professional installer install it. The system has since then. My complaint is the system does not do what it is supposed to do: filter water effectively. I've seen no improvement in the quality of our water. Before I purchased the system I was assured by Ron the system would mitigate the lime streaming we got on our shower doors in our bathrooms. He told me to clean our glass once with LimeAway, and then spray it down with Rain-X and we'd never have to clean it again. This has not occurred. We installed all brand new glass in our showers (cost about $1500 for 3 showers) and all 3 show evidence of liming. The filtration is NOT working. We also have evidence of sulphur in our water (the smell is the key). To fix that, I'd have to buy a third tank from Pelican. Ron should have told me about this problem and had me test for it up front BEFORE I bought the PSE-2000. I could have factored the costs in and perhaps chosen a different vendor given the different costs. In summary, this outfit is easy to deal with in the buying process. But, their system does not do, for us, what it was advertised as being able to do, and it has turned out to be a costly mistake for us. Recommendation: Stay away from Pelican systems.

They were responsive. They say the product would make the water soft, but that?s not the case. None of them remove anything from the water. I would recommend against that for anybody because the product is misleading. I bought two units through mail order. They were fairly priced, but I was disappointed. The water tastes great, though.
