Mr. Carpet's installation crew were THERE, when they were supposed to be & I KICK myself for allowing Empire to put in the WRONG CARPETING on the WRONG LAST DATE possible, when I could have cancelled them completely at $2950 & gotten BOTH jobs done for the CORRECT pricing through Mr. Carpet. Should I EVER have to do any replacement whole house carpeting or just replace the floors in the bathrooms next year, I will CERTAINLY give the small business of Mr. Carpet with Dennis the younger & Dennis the Senior, the work, because they & their installers were the MOST PROFESSIONAL, helpful people that we had working on the house, except for one other SMALL business person for the AC & the one that helped us to buy the Shed for my farm.
Description of Work: Had been dragged for over 3 months by Lowe's & their "professionals" in the flooring department & the human that came to measure the house who kept putting an extra Bathroom into the mix & who has somehow also pulled UP two pieces of the existing linoleum in BOTH bathrooms while he ran from room to room measuring without listening to WHAT we were replacing. The FIRST order was for the carpet, & the second order was for the vinyl to replace the kitchen & two foyers ONLY. The Lowes' carpet quote dragged on for a MONTH, before coming in at almost DOUBLE the original "guesstimate" at the store WITHOUT drawings or any kind of measurements. WORSE, the combined measurements of the house came to BIGGER THAN THAT HOUSE by over 20%. I understand overages & matches of "pattern" & everything but there WERE NO REPEATS on either product to "match". The Vinyl quote took almost 2 months with a firm deadline that HAD to be met & was even WORSE than the carpet, both SUPPOSEDLY WITH FREE installation. NOT. Just as I was getting frantic about deadlines...I drove past for the 20th time in a month, Mr. Carpet on route 15 bypass, Spring Garden Blvd. & turned in. Mr. Carpet's Dennis the younger came to the rescue with a decent quote on a great vinyl planking product in the CORRECT COLOR with a great warranty for HALF the price of everything INCLUDING installation & furniture movement et al. It cost $720 up front to order the product & then $720 at finish of job. Excellent way to do business... Empire took my check & cashed it, after a HORRENDOUS installation of the WRONG carpet color -they put a label on a roll of what WASNT either the right thickness nor color carpet & fled, never sending the refund that they said they would try to get me for the mistake. NEVER again..

On July 15, 2015, Mr. Carpet finished the install of our new Tarkett Lifetime Vinyl Flooring in our kitchen, laundry and pantry. It was installed over our existing tile a after floating the floor with a thin layer of material. The next day, we noticed ridges in the vinyl. The installers and then the owner came out and agreed it did not look right After one attempt to fix the problem without replacing the vinyl (which left a new seam with a gap), the owner eventually agreed to replace the vinyl. This was in August 2015. After a variety of reason for the delay, the vinyl was replaced in February 2016. It originally was to take one or two days. After five days the floor was finally installed correctly. The installers had vacuumed up the dust from removing the tile and then emptied the vacuum onto a tree in our side yard. The floor now looks very good after seven months of delay.
Description of Work: Installed vinyl flooring in the kitchen, pantry and laundry rooms.
