Description of Work: The job was not completed. They have yet to finish the clean up (it is worse, I can't have access to the back yard from either gate, because of all the debris/dirt piled high. The concrete has 7 cracks and several areas that is a mess. They didn't create any control joints as mandated in ALL jobs, no broom finish, no sealant or treatment added at anytime!!! I am a widow and it is not fair that these people do NOT respond to emails, texts, voice messages or anything. They do NOT even pick up their phones. I didn't want to pay them until they were completed, but one of the workers told me that they needed to be paid. They were only here for 2 days. Please, do not call this company if you don't want to have heart failure. I was misled completely.

I contracted John Dugger for a metal building slab, parking pad, driveway and skirt by road. The building pad was out of square and caused installation issues with the metal building company. The skirt by road has failed inspection twice and he has been stalling for weeks to make it right. He tore out first skirt and re-poured incorrectly. The city has grade requirements that were not met even though they came out and marked it for him. I negotiated with city to allow him to grind the skirt down to proper grade instead of re-pour to save him money and he's still stalling. He seems to be wanting more money for fixing this because all he does is talk about what it will cost him to correct this. I refuse to pay extra for his mistakes. I already paid for the completed job. Additionally, Dirt from footers and slabs was partially removed, remainder was dumped around yard. He has sub-standard employees who work un-supervised. I was present during the forming and pouring of the original job. John Dugger was never on site when I was there and the work was un-supervised. Finally, the city of Edgewater won't allow me to pull any further permits until this is resolved, so I will rent a concrete grinder and correct the issue myself. Fortunately I can do that, otherwise someone in my position would have to pay a second contractor to correct this issue and close the permit.

Dugger concrete gave me an estimate of 2k to fill in all the joints on my adjoining driveways and then spray the whole driveway with knockdown texture....He gave me a 12 month warranty on all the work....after a few months the joints began to open up again and chunks of concrete were coming out...When i contacted him to remind him of the warranty he told me "yeah i don't really like doing jobs like this " and i asked him "then why did you do it?" He told me he would come by and take a look but he has not been.
Description of Work: filled all the cracks on my driveway and filled in where the two driveways meet. Then sprayed knockdown texture.

Performed a repair on our pool deck where we were experiencing "chipping" along a crack. They assured me that the epoxy filler they used would not chip back off 3 Months after the initial repair the chipping began deteriorating again. I made many multiple calls over a 2 month period in an effort to get John Dugger to come back out and assist in determining what needed to be done. For the most part he was non responsive to my calls and e-mails. On the two times he did respond he promised to get back with me when the weather cleared up but never followed through. His final response was that he could not afford to come back out and address the needed repairs because he would be losing money. I would neither recommend or rehire Dugger Concrete

The concrete driveway and porch installation I hired Dugger Concrete for is completely sub-standard. 1. Dugger sold concrete I PAID FOR to my neighbor during MY JOB. 2. Mr. Dugger did absolutely sub-standard work. 3. Mr. Dugger didn't leave a line between my porch and any of the concrete that was poured up to my house, then caulk it, whereby the concrete is already cracking because it can't contract or expand or drain. 4. Mr. Dugger waited too long to make the lines across my driveway, causing an unbelievable amount of cracks, holes, defects, etc. 5. Mr. Dugger left concrete splattered all over the front of my house all the way up to the roof; Mr. Dugger advised he would paint the house if necessary after clean up. After cleanup up Mr. Dugger did not repaint. 6. Mr. Dugger left my front yard totally tore up, which was mostly grass. Mr. Dugger did not clean up said mess and my front yard is now mostly dirt and gravel. 7. When the line was created for water drainage across my porch, it does not go all the way across on either end, thereby causing no way for water to drain. 8. It appears the mold was too high on one side of the driveway, because the concrete is too high/not flush; there are also indents in the concrete. 9. Mr. Dugger did not like the negative review I left him, and repeatedly called and text me, even after I asked him to STOP. I had to call the police and file a report. 10. Mr. Dugger called me AGAIN the next day even after the police left him a VM. I called the police again, whereby they left him another VM. 11. I am working through the legal system to resolve this issue as Mr. Dugger is no longer allowed to contact me by any means.

There was a lot of rain and I questioned the supervisor about pouring concrete in the rain. He said a little rain would not hurt. Now my driveway is dis colored in several areas. The texture in the driveway is rough and uneven. They poured concrete over sprinkler heads and did not cap them as instructed and they broke 4 other heads. The texture on the front porch is ugly and painted unevenly. The pavers and drain are good. Clean up was included but they left everything for me. Texture and paint splattered all over two sides of my house. Unused pavers were thrown on my property behind the trees. A pile of gravel was left for me to get rid of. There's more but I think you get the idea. We made a number of calls with no response. We sent a number of emails without response. We finally contacted BBB to help. Suddenly we received a call that The sprinklers would be fixed by him and Dugger would pay the cost of repairs. A man came out to fix the sprinklers but he is still trying to fix after no success yesterday. Apparently the damage is extensive. I think Mr Dugger should come out and see what his workers have done!

The driveway was installed as contracted but that is when the problems started. I discovered that when they dug up the blacktop they dumped the debris in my neighbor's vacant lot. In digging up the driveway they broke a water line. It looks like they tried to fix it but were not successful. I don't live at the house and was not there when the job was done. The water ran unabated for over a week. A neighbor called me and told me there was a lot of water in my yard. I called a plumber and they came over and fixed the leak. I called Dugger Concrete to report the problems and see how they wanted to handle things. I did not talk to the owner but I did talk to the person that I had contracted the job with. He told me he would talk with John Dugger and get back to me. I haven't heard from them since. I have place numerous calls and sent emails. Everything has been ignored. I incurred additional expense for a plumber. I'm sure my water bill will be very high. I need higher someone to clean up the lot. And I am being completely ignored. I paid for the job promptly. The Dugger Concrete website says they are honest and dependable. That has not been my experience. I strongly recommend you do not hire Dugger Concrete. I realize that problems happen. But the lack of response is the thing that bothers me the most.

Yes the water line got broke that's common for doing driveway work we fixed the pipe before we poured the driveway and checked it. Evidently the pipe came lose somewhere else but we didn't see anything. We did the driveway and two days came back to cut and grab boards and didn't see any water leakage If so we would of fixed it. Once [remove member name] heard about the water leakage he could of alled us instead he called a plumber We would of went out and fixed the problem Now for the email and calles I have emails from me and him. I never not answered him or not answered when he called and my office guy would respond back everytime he called or emailed. So not sure what he's talking about We got 4 calls for [removed member name]. First give a price. Then the ok for the job. Then when the Check cash in his account and last the one about we owe him for the plumber and water bill And for the asphalt it wasn't much and we spread it out along the driveway on his property And also this is the 4 place he has written this review to just try to get what ever message out he's trying to get. We are a very good company and this for some reason has gotten blown out of portion that I have never delt with before thanks. John dugger owner of Dugger Concrete. 386-878-5816

In June 2013, my husband and I hired Dugger Concrete, Inc., DeLand, FL, to remove and replace our concrete driveway. The new driveway was to have a smooth ?broom? finish. The firm?s owner, John Dugger, was eager to get the job and gave us a price that seemed very reasonable. He said that if anyone?s bid came in lower, please let him know and he would ?work with us.? Despite its pleasant start, this has turned out to be the most frustrating and unsatisfactory business experience of our lives. The job began on June 20th with the removal of the old driveway. Since we were heading into Florida?s summer rainy season, I expressed concern to Mr. Dugger over what would happen if it should rain before the new concrete had time to dry. He assured me that his crews always have Visqueen plastic sheeting on hand to cover any newly poured concrete, protecting it from the rain. On the 21st, just after the second of two truck loads had been poured and the finishing work was about half done, we had a huge thunderstorm. The rain came down in torrents, and we watched as rivers of sand and cement washed down our driveway and into the gutter along the street and overflowed into our year-old Bahia grass sod. To my shock, neither of the two cement finishers made any move to put plastic on the driveway. Instead they squatted under the shelter of our eaves and smoked cigarettes. The one in charge finally admitted that he had forgotten to bring the plastic! After over an hour of watching our driveway wash away, he called Mr. Dugger, and soon Mrs. Dugger appeared with two rolls of Visqueen. By then the rain had stopped. The workers used a troweling machine to try to revive the surface of the concrete. Then they cut the plastic sheeting and laid it over the driveway. But their efforts were too late; the damage was already done. When Mr. Dugger inspected the work on the 22nd, he said that it looked ?not too bad for a rained-on job.? We strongly disagreed. There were many patches of aggregate showing where the sand and cement had been washed away. Mr. Dugger asked us to give the concrete time to set up before declaring it a lost cause. He wrote on our invoice, ?If any problems in future we will take care of. Wait at least 3-4 weeks to set up.? Expecting him to honor his word, we paid for the job in full, giving him a check for $4,500. While Mr. Dugger was still here that day, my husband pointed out the large amount of washed-out cement that lined the gutter along the road. He asked Mr. Dugger if he didn?t think cleaning it up was part of the job. Mr. Dugger grabbed a shovel and began walking along the road, scraping the gutter and flipping cement up onto the lawn. He said it was ?good for the grass.? My husband replied, ?Well, it is not good for my lawn mower blades. Cut it out.? After he was gone, we cleaned up the gutter mess ourselves and later spent much time and energy removing globs of hardened cement from the lawn. As the concrete dried, it started ?dusting?--eroding sand and cement because of the severe rain damage to the mix. For several weeks, we swept it frequently, gathering up buckets of sand and cement in a futile attempt to prevent further damage to the landscape. We could not use a leaf blower because we did not want more of the dust in the lawn and shrubs. Despite our efforts, wind blew dust all over the place, including into the garage. Much of that got tracked into the house. To give you an idea of how bad the dusting was, we put the cement and sand from the first two sweepings (about one week?s worth of dusting) into two plastic bags, which we weighed before disposing of them. Together they weighed 112 pounds! After three weeks of watching our driveway decompose, we tried to call Mr. Dugger. The first several times we called, he did not answer, and we were unable to leave a message because his voice mail box was full. Finally he answered his phone and told us he was out of town on vacation and would be back at work on July 22nd. He would contact us then. When July 22nd came, Mr. Dugger did NOT contact us as promised. In fact he has never contacted us since being paid for the job. Every contact has been initiated by us. In August he became virtually unreachable by phone. On August 21st my husband went to Mr. Dugger?s business to speak to him in person. During that meeting, my husband told him we were totally unsatisfied and wanted the job completely redone, or failing that, at least a partial refund of our $4,500. Mr. Dugger said he could not afford either of those options, as he had bills to pay and other jobs to do. He said he would continue to try to fix the damage. My husband told Mr. Dugger that he?d heard from several sources that the first thing that needed to be done to a dusting driveway is to pressure wash it at a minimum of 3,000 psi, to try to get the surface to a point where it would stop dusting. Only then could it be assessed to see if resurfacing was feasible. Mr. Dugger agreed and said he would do this. Several more weeks passed. Finally on September 11th one of Dugger?s foremen showed up unannounced and began pressure washing the driveway. He had done only a small fraction of it when his pressure washer lost an O-ring and he had to quit. By the 18th, after having heard from no one, my husband left Mr. Dugger a telephone message demanding someone come out and finish the work that was started. The next morning the same foreman was back and washed most of the driveway, but did not do the section along the street. He said he would be back in a few days to seal the concrete with Thompson?s Water Seal. He also said they would stain the surface if we wished, to try to make it look better. We have not seen or heard from anyone at Dugger Concrete since. Nine months after it was poured, the driveway is still losing sand and cement, though at a slower rate. It is very gritty to walk on, and we have to sweep the bottoms of our shoes before entering the house. And the finish, which is now mostly exposed low-grade aggregate, is an eyesore. It is also beginning to crumble with small stones popping out of the concrete. It looks like a very old and weather-worn driveway, not at all like a new driveway with a smooth broom finish for which we paid $4,500. We are embarrassed for people to see it. As for the section of Bahia lawn adjacent to the driveway, it has died from the increased alkalinity in the soil caused by the cement overflow and dusting. (Bahia grass needs an acidic soil to thrive.) Weeds have taken its place. I have waited until now to write this review to give Mr. Dugger time to honor his written word. We have given up on that prospect. We now know that we will have to pay for whatever is done to improve the appearance of this driveway. We do not expect to get any help from Dugger Concrete. As I said in the beginning of this review, this has been the most unsatisfactory business dealing we have ever had!

They were an excellent company. The gentleman that came out seemed extremely honest. I had a few other quotes that they came in and they were trying to skate around the issues and did not seem like they would perform the job to the level that this company would. He was just a very straight tutor and easy to deal with. I plan to use them in the future. It was an overall good experience.

Horrible! First they said we did not need a permit and would only replace the driveway from the sidewalk to the garage and they would haul off all debris from the roots they would have to take out . Stated they would put rebar and termite control down. They did not place rebar nor did they do termite, which we could have forgive if it had not been all the other problems. After the cement had been poured we were contacted be the county stating that we were supposed to get a permit. I contacted John Dugger and he said he would take care of it. He further stated on every call (called every day for 2 weeks) that someone would be here to pick up the pile of roots that they left in the yard. It has been 2 weeks, and I am currently being charged by my HOA for the pile of debris and we are trying to get the permit issue taken care of , yet the county has also started charging us a fee. This whole situation has been a terrible nightmare. One we will have to confront through the court.

As we been back and fourth with the homeowner the apron was poured by mistake. So the got a whole New driveway for the price of only half because of my mistake to my guys by telling them to go all the way to the road We never talked about a pest control spray. There were tree trimmings left from the tree because of the tree we had to trim to get the concrete truck in driveway. So we saved them money there plus all new driveway. The trims we by the road and usually the trash people pick up lite trimmings? As the permit there was not one needed until we accidentally did apron And I called Orange County to see about getting one after the fact because of the mistake and it took the inspector 1 1/2 weeks to get back with me as I sent the message to homeowner to verify

We got several estimates, and Dugger was the least expensive. This is sometimes a little scary when the estimates vary so widely, as these did. But we decided to give them a try and are glad we did. They got the job done in 1 day. There was an issue with washout under the walkway several months later from a storm. It may or may not have had anything to do with Dugger's work, but they went to check on it anyway. The issue has been resolved.

My first impression of proprietor, John Duggar, was not quite complimentary. Well, I was wrong. John Duggar and his crew delivered what was expected of honest, no-nonsense, and hard-working people. The work done on our driveway was exemplary, and was completed in three short days. I am proud to recommend Duggar Concrete, Inc. to anyone needing such work done on their property, in fact, we already have. Thank you, John, nice job! Ethel Wilson Kareklas Altamonte Springs, Florida
Description of Work: Driveway repair which included demolition, removal of tree roots, leveling of ground, framing, hauling, pouring, broom finish, cutting for a picture frame finish. He took care of the county permit & had an inspector check the work. He also provided wire mesh for extra reinforcement to the 3000 psi fiber reinforced concrete. Dugger Concrete provided us with their liability insurance coverage and a signed contract. The price was exactly as agreed on the contract & no surprise fees in the end.

John showed up with two employees and then promptly left saying he had to take his kids to Daytona..The workers needed to borrow my gas to fill their concrete saw, they also needed to borrow my circular saw to cut the forms and cordless screwdriver to remove the fence panels. They poured the pads then had the Bobcat stuck in the back yard because they couldn't drive past the pads they just poured , so they had to remove more fencing to the street at the rear of the property to get the machine out of the back yard. They left saying they would return the next day to remove the forms and fix the fence. This is where it went downhill. Two different employees showed up and removed the forms and attempted to replace the fence panels. They couldn't get it to line up so they used my circular saw to cut the vinyl fence panels and rip some of the vertical slats to make it fit. Needless to say the fence panel and the gate were a mess. They also forgot to replace the screws that hold the panels to the posts. They took off before I even realized they were supposedly done. I called John and sent him an e-mail telling him that he needed to be a little more hands on with his company and supervise his employees a little more. He apoligized and said he would be over the next day to fix the problems.........That was the last I ever heard from him.Absolutly one of the least professional companys I have ever dealt with.

Although we strive to make every job as best as possible this one here went very well for the concrete work part like we were contracted to do. The gas borrowed was due to extra concrete we had to cut due to extra concrete added to driveway that was unexpected. I'm not sure about the skill saw borrow I'm not sure about that part, we have saws that's a main part of concrete (cutting form). And the fence was taken down due to after we completed the concrete work we graded the whole side of his yard and had to take a section of fence down when we were finished to get it out. After we were finished and paid for the job. The homeowner called me about his concerns. It was two days before Christmas and the new year came and it slipped my mind due to the holidays going on. Since then I have tried to contact the homeowner and have gotten no response yet I am willing to take care of any concerns he may have but I can't do so until I get in contact with him 386-878-5816 thanks

Dump and concrete trucks made a lot of furrows in yard during the fill dirt and pouring processes, Dugger leveled off most of them with his small bobcat when work was complete. Final paint on patio is fair; some areas outside bedroom sliders are patchy. Final acrylic and paint coat application materials (empty cans, rollers) were left in the yard. Some of the form boards are still in the yard a week later despite calls 5 days ago to please clean up. John and his crew are good folks overall.

I never received a call back.
Description of Work: I called the company to possibly find out about getting the house leveled. I left my name and number and asked them call me back.

Response from Dugger Concrete Inc
One of our main priorities that we do is make sure we always make a call back As I remember in this case I remember his name and we tried to call back but no answer when we called back. It happens about 80% of the time if a homeowner calls and leaves a message when we call back the person usually dosent answer on the time we call back due to different times I don't think it's fair to rate my company a F because of this in other advertising places we have normally perfect ratings across the board
