In The Lines Painting

I started to do the painting myself (only got 1 wall done), but I injured my shoulder so I needed to hire someone. I needed them to start right away because we were moving and giving the keys back to our landlord in a little over a week. I needed it to be a good price because I was out of work due to my shoulder injury and we already had enough money going out for moving expenses, first month's rent and deposit for our new place, etc. And I needed it to be a high quality job because I wanted to make sure I got all of my security deposit back from our landlord after we moved out. I looked through Angie's List. Some of the prices in the reviews were scary. Some had negative comments. I found someone I liked and he came out to give an estimate on Wednesday. Once he saw the job he didn't want the job. He wouldn't be able to get it finished by the end of the following week and he thought working around my furniture would take too much time. I appreciated him letting me know that he wasn't a good fit for the job, but now I had to start over looking for someone. I didn't find anybody else I liked on Angie's List because I was being very picky. I didn't want a flashy company with high prices or a 6-week delay before they could start like one company I called. Since I didn't find anybody else I tried Craigslist. That's where I found In The Lines Painting. Here's what the ad said... In The Lines Painting, Fast And Reliable (Broward/Palm Beach) Is the paint on your house looking old, cracking, and it needs a makeover? Want to change your interior colors? your renter just moved out and you need to clean it up? Have you been searching for a good painter? Well look no farther. I will give you good clean job, with a reasonable price. All my work is guaranteed and I will get the job done right. I'm looking forward to your call and to get started on your project right away. I called and spoke with Eddy and setup an appointment for 9am the next day. He called the next morning to let me know he was on his way and arrived on time. He gave what I thought was a good price and just as importantly was able start right away and finish within a week. I had no customer reviews to go by, but I took a chance. And I'm glad I did. Eddy was true to his ad. He's a good painter. He did a good clean job (not one drip of paint on the carpet or tile). His price was very reasonable. And he started right on the spot. Can't get any faster than that. I'm very happy with the job he did. We pushed our furniture off the walls and he had no problem working around it. He came around 9am each morning and worked continuously except for a lunch break. He worked for 5 days. He let me know if he was going to stop for supplies or would be delayed for another reason. I left him in the condo by himself on a few occasions and there weren't any issues with that. When the job was done he walked around with me and touched up any spots that I wasn't happy with. He also offered to come back for no charge if I find something in the next few days that I'm not happy with. What else could I ask for? In addition to doing a good job, Eddy is also a nice guy. In the past I've experienced loud, foul-mouth , jerky contractors and Eddy is far from that. Will use him again and recommend him to others.
