What a mistake I made in hiring Elcon. Their estimate was 25% more than my other estimate from a licensed well-reviewed electrician, but I went with Elcon because I thought hiring a large company would help ensure things went smoothly, efficiently and give me some peace of mind. Unfortunately, the result was just the opposite. There were two fairly simple jobs. The first was to install an outlet on the opposite side of drywall where there is already a switch. The electrician took out the switch where you can clearly see the other side of the wall yet he still cut right in front of the stud exposing over 4 inches of stud. Why he didn’t use a stud finder or drill a small hole first before cutting completely baffles me. He did fess up to it immediately and patched it, but never even apologized. I had to match/buy paint to match the wall and cover the patch. Next he installed a non-GFI outlet in a laundry room which is against NEC code. When I informed him that the outlet was not to code, he said their estimator didn’t put a GFI on the quote. Yet I specifically requested a GFI outlet in my email to them - both in writing AND in a photo of the job. Why neither their estimator nor their electrician followed NEC code was concerning, but he did switch the outlet eventually. The other job was to install an outdoor wired box which was clearly titled as such on the quote. When I showed the electrician where the box was to be installed, he said he didn’t have a box with him. How he did not have one of only two fixtures needed for the job is beyond me. Also, instead of going to get the box before starting the job, he did it after the wires were threaded and exposed. He was gone for 40 minutes when there is a Lowes right next door to me. If it had rained, all of my entire pool wiring (which he wired up to) would have gotten wet. I paid him in full and contacted their office via email to explain what happened. Their office manager did apologize, but her unhelpful solution to my wasted time and extra money I had spent to paint was to schedule more time with me so their estimator could “spot check” the electrician’s work. Now, not only does their lack of trust in their own electrician make me worry about the completed install, but this would have been the third time I had to take time away from work and for their convenience. This is because instead of using the detailed request and photos I sent them of the job, the estimator still wanted to see it in person. And when the estimator arrived, he asked questions that were already in my request and took the same photos I already sent. When I finally pointed out that it was all in my request and photos, he then looked and was surprised it was all already there. Thankfully, I only scheduled Elcon for two of the four jobs they estimated for me. I was going to schedule those at a later date but after this experience, I decided to hire another company for the remaining jobs and will be sure to have them check all of Elcon’s work.

The Salesman that came out recommended 12-16 lights more than necessary and insisted that they don't really upcharge for materials. After the estimate was sent to me, the salesman called me to say that the reason the estimate came in so high was that the cost of wire is through the roof and the cost of materials is the reason for the high estimate. ( The materials actually were very inexpensive, less than $700 for all lights, wires, dimmers and switches for the entire job.) They estimate that they sent me was literally over 4 times the total cost of the highly rated electrician that I ended up selecting. Their quote was over $3600 more than the next highest estimate after theirs (which I did not go with either.) Not sure why they thought that they could get away with that one. I feel bad for anyone that doesn't know any better than to select them for a project that costs 400% more. Ruthless.

The work was done by Matt. He did the install efficiently and well. The company called when he was on the way and he showed up on time. I recommend Elcon would hire them again.

The job was painless ! It took a full day for all the jobs we had lined up. The whole process was perfect. Matt was respectful, explained all options , communicated clearly, and cleaned up after each job. Superb experience !!

Had to ask for someone to come afte rhours because they were fully booked which turned out pricey but the job got done professionally and quickly.

It went extremely well, Christian did an excellent job, I was very impressed with his work ethic and his knowledge about electrical wiring. I will use them for any electrical projects I have in the future.

a wire had come loose in the wall and they reconnected it. I was charged for an hour minimum, even though it took much less time. I was aware of the minimum, so no reason to complain. They actually came earlier than the scheduled arrival time. I would use them again.

Responded promptly and professionally. But I used a different company to perform service (at half the price, including installation of lights; which was not included in this company quote). Apparently, there are many companies (including this one) that would like to charge high fees for simple work. They should take note, and pay attention to the competition.

Everything went well. Elcon Electric was very efficient in calling me back to schedule the appointment for the next day. The Electrician arrived on time, was knowledgeable and completed the work within 1 hr. I would definitely hire them again.

Some personal items came up for the electrician and we had to reschedule the first appointment. On the reschedule date an accident happened causing the installer too not be able to work due to his injury so working with Alley and Stephanie we we were able to get another electrician to perform the install of the outlet. They will work with you, reasonably priced and have a professional staff. I've hired them twice and would hire again.

Dealing with Elcon Electric was truly a pleasure. First, the scheduling department had John come to our home at a time that was convenient to us. He arrived as promised and clearly ran through the estimate, permitting process and FPL's involvement. He went on to mention that it would likely be necessary to cutout a portion of the drywall that we would be responsible for replacing. Fortunately, the additional cutout was not required. Over the course of the next several weeks, the scheduling and permitting department kept us informed of the estimated installation date. Once confirmed, Roman, the electrician, arrived as scheduled, performed the installation flawlessly and left our home in perfect condition with a brand new electrical panel. Would definitely hire again and recommend to our friends and relatives.

This company was extremely professional, prompt in replying & getting a quote in less than 12 hours. If the price had not been so expensive, I would have used this company based on the professional service I received.

Nicely done!! He removed and added a new fan, changed out a switch box and fixed a lighting switch. He cleaned up, and completed everything in a couple of hours!!

Elcon was hired to install a new ceiling fan. It turned out that the electrical box in the ceiling was not right for a fan. It was replaced and the new fan installed. The work was expert and the area cleaned up after the installation. We were shown how to operate the remote control. The Elcon office is very efficient. The scheduling, confirmation and offer of an earlier time when there was a cancellation made it a pleasure to deal with this company. Will definitely hire again.

It went really well. Shawn arrived right on time and solved several electric problems quickly and efficiently. He explained that our electric panel is outdated and may need replacing if we sell the house. He was able to reset one of my breakers which was tripped, and I had not been able to reset it myself. That solved a wall of outlets and an outdoor light now works!

Our experience was exceptional. My phone call was immediately answered by Elcon’s office staff and the job scheduled in two days. The electrician arrived on time. He was professional, personable, and technically competent. He was an incredible problem-solver. He encountered numerous mistakes in wiring done by a company hired by the previous owner of the house, and was able to fix them, and did so in a creative way that minimized our costs. I highly recommend Elcon.

Sean did everything we needed. He was able to troubleshoot the wiring errors and now everything works as it should. He is a competent electrician, and also personable. He called about five minutes before appointment time to say running late because of traffic. Showed up at the exact time he said he would! Also, young lady from office called day before to remind me of appointment. Very impressed! Would definitely hire them again and recommend to others. The price was also fair for the work done.

Totally blown away by the great customer service. I called on Friday to get an idea of what the costs might be and was told someone could be there first thing Monday morning. Then I received a reminder call later that same day. The technician arrived and was great at looking for options & explaining them, as there was no existing fan. Everything went great. He was even happy enough to give me ballpark estimates on some future work. I will definitely use this company's services again.

The concrete ceiling had no previous fixture. Part of the wall is concrete too the electrician tried 3 different ways to make the wires least noticeable. He was polite and dedicated.
