The business is family owned and the husband and wife team came to my business 5 weeks befor my opening date to give me an estimate on channel lettering. They represented that they had significant experience and that the time frame alloted would be more than enough to get the sign in by opening date.Their rates were competitive so I gave them a rather hefty deposit and signed on. A week later I was contacted by my landlord who was awaiting their application which they had promised to submit in days. I called the owners and was given a long and drwan out list of excuses as to why the landlords form had not been sent. I was promised that it would be delivered by the end of the day which never happened. I was told that day that the letter had been faxed only to find out the following day that it had not. Upon confrontation the story switched again, no they couldnt fax the form the would hand deliver it..wow..no attention was paid to the fact that I had been lied to. In the end I was forced to pick up and deliver this letter myself. A service that they had been paid for. During this time I had to contact the company from new phone numbers daily as they had taken to ignoring my calls. Now the story was that the permit would be applied for and the sign installed. Five weeks from the date of contract I (though a series of investigative phone calls to the county) found out that not only would I not have my sign for opening day, but that the permit application had not even been submitted. I confronted the owner Arturo who first lied and said it had, then recanted and said it had not but that it was MY fault because they had submitted to the wrong city. Then lied again and said that it had been sent to the county. The county showed no record of permit application. Arturo and his wife were rude thoughout this process, they lied on a daily basis about the status of my sign and permit, I would call from outside their store and watch as they dodged my calls. They fully misrepresented themselves to be licensed contractors which they are not. They in no way performed ANY of the tasks they were hired to do which come to find out they are not licensed or qualified to do anyhow. In a last ditch attempt to get back my money from them I found the company which was signing their licenses for them to ask that they intervene as their name was being dragged through the mud in the process. When the owner of this company suggested that they were doing bad business he was hung up on. These people are scammers, liars, unethical and extremely unproffessional. In the end I was only refunded 400 out of my 700 dollar deposit. Once again A and G Signs lied and said 300 was spent o drafting drawings. When I asked for these $300 drawings I was given a draft which come to find out is useless without it's matching duplicate and the engineer who they got it from said he only charged them $80 for.
