Dave's Fence

The outfit did respond and give me and estimate but was the highest of the three I got and since it was nearly 3 times the amount of the one I used, I decided against them. The office manager said that maybe the estimate was so high because they were out of the area. I would say yes, maybe 45 minutes or so maybe even a hour. I don't know. Seems like they are more interested in larger jobs.

We first contacted Dave's Fence this past spring, while we were waiting to close on this property. It took several months to iron out all of the details surrounding the property's purchase, and to get to a point where we replace the existing fence. Of course that was well into their busy season, making us wait longer to get on the schedule (not their fault). We waited 5 weeks before they could come to do the work but they were WELL worth the wait. The staff was punctual and personable. They went over exactly what was to be done, and explained the changes that were to be made from the existing fence. When they came across a dip in the landscape that was not easily worked with, they ran a few scenarios with me, and we came up with the best alternative to get that section done without looking out of place, all while keeping the back yard child and pet secure. At the end of the day they cleaned everything up and hauled away all of the old wood. They spent some time going over the features of the fence, products they use and why, the warranty, what to tell new owners, and how to keep the fence looking as good as it does now. It rained on installation day so the wood was a bit too wet to seal, however we discussed an approximate time as to when they would be able to come back to finish that portion. Because of rain, they were not able to come until the end of the week to seal the wood, but they called first, showed up on time, finished in a timely manor, and were just as nice and courteous as our install crew. We received bids from several companies. All were similarly priced, but none could compete with what came standard with Dave's Fence. It was a no-brainer choosing this company and I will not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future!

Great They did a quality job on time @ on budget

I contacted Dave's Fence thru Angie's List messaging, and was called back by one of the ladies in their office. She set up an appointment with Dave Wheaton to measure and provide me with an estimate. Dave answered all of my questions and handled all change orders my boyfriend and I requested. The installation crew took down the old wood privacy fence & gates, and installed the new vinyl pvc privacy fence sections in one day, but had to come back on another day to install the gates. Very professional people in all areas of the company. I'd highly recommend.

Several months later a part of the fenced settled and they came right out and fixed it for free. we will definitely use them again.

Overall, the fence looks good. 95% of the work was done in one day. the last 5% was a bit of a struggle. I understand that contractors are busy and it isn't easy coming back to the project for little things. I had to point out the little things that needed to be done.

This company had previously installed a fence for us at another property and we were extremely pleased with the service and the results so when it came time to have another fence installed, it was easy for us to choose a company. The second time around was just the same as the first. The office and scheduling was prompt. The sales rep was on time and answered all my questions. The installation crew was polite and very professional. They used very good materials. The entire process was smooth and enjoyable. It was a refreshing experience.

Quick response to Angie's List message and on time appointment for estimate. Cost was better than all the other estimates I received. Trouble with the permitting, that was not their fault, slowed the process but they assisted in talking to the city most of the time. Would have preferred to have one point of contact at their office versus talking to multiple people only because it seemed we went in circles a few times. Once permitting was complete the job was scheduled fast and done in a timely manner. Quality of work was excellent and the fence looks great. Would recommend for home fencing needs.

I first met with Michael Sellers, the salesperson from Dave's Fence during the first week of April 2015. He was providing my second estimate for the planned removal of my perimeter fencing and installation of new fencing. I found Michael Sellers to be very knowledgable about the available fencing choices. We discussed my fencing preferences in detail and my need to have the work completed within a specific time frame. Michael Sellers personally performed the measurements to the dimensions I requested. Within minutes, he provided me with an estimate that simply "blew-away" my previous estimate. We agreed on an installation deadline and despite my usual reservation to sign "on the spot" to close the deal, I trusted him enough to do so. During the next couple of weeks, Michael Sellers and I had several conversations by phone. His availability was remarkable. His responsiveness to my calls was impressive as well. Making adjustments to the original plan was very easy. The start of the installation date concerned me even though I was guaranteed completion on time. Mike Sellers intervened with the scheduler and the work was begun at an earlier date to accommodate my anxiety. The installation process was efficient and on time as promised. I found Dave's Fence and Michael Sellers to be professional and accommodating. I will not hesitate to use Dave's Fence again in the future or recommend them to friends. ADS in Ormond Beach, FL.

Went very well, a paver area had to be disturbed, a unforeseen issue. They got a paver company to repair damage at their cost. The foreman Keith was awesome, had to come back a couple of times for things I found wrong.. I'm pretty picky.. They were timely and very professional, cleaned up well and all old fence removed. They weren't the cheapest but I use them because of their reviews here and wasn't disappointed. Fence was of highest quality in materials and workmanship . If they aren't your cheapest estimate, please weigh the fact they do awesome work.. It's worth the extra $$ Absolutely would refer to family and friends !!

The person who came out to give me an estimate was not only very friendly and professional in appearance, he really seemed to know his product well. He was able to answer every question and addressed my concerns for my dogs. He had a nice sample of the porduct to be installed (board on board custom) and I signed right away. (I had already contacted 2 other fence companies who would do nothing more that email me their by foot cost.) On the day of installation a large crew arrived around 8:30am and worked until late in the day. They were all friendly when approached and other than the sounds of construction the noice was minimal. They were able to have all fence up and secure for my dogs to roam that evening. They returned the following day to apply the sealant, do a walk through to explain latches, and to ensure I was happy with my finished product. The new fence changed the entire appearance of the front of my home. I am so happy with Daves Fence I have already referred them to 2 of my customers. My neighbors are also raving about the appearance, and I believe they will be doing much more work in my area.

As I always do, I did extensive research so that I know what I am buying and know how it should be installed. Estimator ?Brandon? knew that the pressure treating chemical changed years ago and his company uses proper ACQ rated ring shank fasteners. Dave's site builds fences using 2x4 by 8-foot runners, 4x4 by 8-foot posts and 5/8-inch thick stockade pickets. They included linseed oil water treatment in their price. Using 8-foot runners means three joints at every post. To ensure the same durability as my old fence, I believe I would have to put posts every four feet, causing additional cost. Upgrading to 10-foot posts (because my fence is along a canal) caused a significant cost increase. Ultimately, Dave's Fence was my second choice. The company I went with uses staggered 16-foot runners. Even with 10-foot posts their estimate was significantly lower than Dave's offer.

It went great. I was asked how I wanted to swing, I chose swing out. This gives me more room to store garbage cans up near the gate. I am not concerned about putting locks on the outside and getting them cut with bolt cutters. I have police living across the street and I do not have anything to steal. The fence is to keep the dog in the back yard so she can play. The fence is beautiful. All the wood used is thicker and stronger than the previous fence.

We have a big yard, about an acre, they were wonderful and the quality of work was excellent. They did the work exactly as needed in seven days.

After I posted my displeasure at the customer service I received during my initial call to receive an estimate. I was contacted right away with an apology and a visit within 30 minutes of the phone call. The price that was given was more than competitive and I ended up giving them the job. I've scheduled the job in 5 weeks and I will update as soon as the work is completed. So far I am very happy. Thanks, Ryan!

Had few other estimates... Dave's estimate came in right around same price range. Other estimators did not even spend 5mins here. Dave's estimator (Michael) was very professional, and took the time to sit down and explain everything. He made the sale and I put a deposit down. Communication with the office was good. They handled all permits. I made a modification to the plan and they accommodated my request very well. We selected an install date around my schedule, and the office kept in contact to confirm. The install crew worked fast, cleaned up well, and did great work. I am very happy with the fence. Billing department was also very easy to work with for payment.

I had about four estimates and Dave's fence beat the price with superior customer service. I had one side of back yard done with Dave's fence, white vinyl and they use 8ft sections 6ft high which look better and use less posts. The panels are commercial grade with a nice white panel and a decorative border which is all standard price. My neighbor used a competitor company that was done the same time with 6ft fence sections and the sections are sagging within a month. Dave's fence has an outstanding product, the gates were custom made and they came out several times to make it right so the gates are perfect and they go above and beyond to make the customer happy. From the moment I called Dave's Fence they were extremely professional and attentive to my needs. They set an appointment that was convenient for me and an estimator came out to the site and went over all of the details of the project. They even had samples of their products with them. The gave us a fair price and we agreed to move forward. The office kept me informed throughout the entire process. The crew showed up on the day agreed upon and at the time that was given. They were very friendly and professional and worked very hard. They completed the job in one day! they were respectful of my yard and of any request I made. They cleaned up after themselves and the fence looks great. the quality of materials are excellent and the workmanship is very nice. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

The rep showed up late for the appointment. He was a little gruff but he took all the measurements and said he would email me the estimate. I confirmed my email address with him before he left my house. He never emailed the estimate.

My husband and I are pleased with the overall work and quality. They are punctual,professional. the price was reasonable.

TERRIBLE. I came home from work & it had been done all wrong. Because of the cost - I really expected an amazing job. The 3 sections of fence didn't match in height, didn't grade down hill leaving huge gaps between the fence & the ground. On 1 corner the gap was so big that they threw a concrete block in it to fill the gap - like I would be OK with that!! Both gates swung the wrong direction (opposite of what I'd requested & uphill so they hit the ground when swinging them open) and one gate was 4' when I'd asked to 36". I'd waited a month to get the job done & then it had to be almost completely re-done. That was another 2 week wait. They tried to push me back further than that but after complaining about being put behind other customers that hadn't waited nearly as long as I had, they came back to redo the fence. I joined Angie's List specifically to find a reliable fence builder. I thought their cost was very high but also thought that they would deliver an exceptional product. What a disappointment.

Dave's constructed the fence before we moved in and it was ready when we arrived with our dogs. It is extremely well built and exactly as I had requested. They also kept me informed by phone of the status of my project.

Dave's Fence installed a PVC fence and did an outstanding job. The price was a bit high, but the quality certainly matches; it's commercial grade. They workers were very friendly, fast, and did an amazing job. They also left no trash behind. I would recommend to anyone for a professional job, with professional grade material!
