No real improvement

Worst company ethics. They went to another home instead for 5 months even after repeated calls our yard died in huge patches. They only offered to give us the next five treatments at no charge since we had already paid for them. They came twice after that. We will have to replace a lot of our grass now. They are rude in the office and would not even let me speak with a manager. I would never recommend them and would never use them again.

I found bugs in the grass and asked for someone to come out, they never did. I got a call from them wanting to sell me tree and bush services, I told them not until someone came out and no one did. I got a call trying to sell me thatching services. I told them not until someone came out and no one did. I got an automated call saying they were coming out for the regular service. I called them and said not to do that until someone came out to talk to me, no one did. I got another automated call for regular service. I called the support department and got voice mail saying they were too busy so I went to website to cancel service. A week later I got a call trying to sell me additional services again. I told the lady my problems and she assured me someone would contact me within 48 hours. I told her if someone didn't come see me I would cancel service a second time (since they ignored the first) No call. This past Monday the regular route guy came to my house for the monthly spray. He had no idea I had cancelled the service or that I had been having problems. So I cancelled with him and got attitude from him. I have gone to another company. It is amazing how a few questions grew into cancelling service and they don't seem to care.

TruGreen is a huge disappointment. My lawn was perfect when TruGreen started a year ago. One year later, it is looks terrible. The local office is never able to be reached. The local office was always very slow to respond to messages left at the 800-TRU-GREEN number. When TruGreen service began, the salesman stated the lawn would be serviced every 7 weeks. Sometime later, I counted on my credit card bills that they were showing up every 4 weeks, equaling more money to them while my lawn's condition steadily went downhill. TruGreen's $150 "guaranteed for one year" add-on specialty service when they diagnosed mole crickets did nothing to the mole crickets which continue to thrive. After a year of regular service and specialty services, the lawn looks terrible. TruGreen was completely unresponsive to my numerous calls to meet with a manager in December. A month later, the service manager left a message that he had a baby and was out of the office for awhile. By that time I had fired them. I would never hire TruGreen again and would recommend to anyone who asks, don't use TruGreen.

I have been with Tru Green for 2 years. Last year I decided to pay for the year in advance in order to save 10%. When I looked at my bank statement I saw that Tru Green had deducted an additional amount from my account. When I called them I was told that the amount I paid in advance was short and so they took the remaining amount out of my account. I asked how that could be since I paid the amount that they told me to pay and did not hear either by phone, email, or US mail that any additional amount was due. During the course of the 2 years that I was with them, the sales staff constantly called to offer me additional services even though I continuously asked them to stop calling and take me off of their calling list. I finally had to block their sales phone number. I feel sorry for the technician because he was a nice guy and did a good job but I cancelled my service due to the poor customer relations I had with them

I had issues but they usually take care of it eventually.

We hired TruGreen to handle our brand new sod at our new home through the word of mouth from a neighbor who's yard was really good. After the first treatment, much of the fungus was gone and many weeds disappeared, but the sod never got better. Looking through the paperwork the inspector said that we had "acceptable" levels of thatch for our St. Augustine sod. Being new, I really didn't know what to look for so I trusted their judgment. When things did not get better for the next three months I spent more time reading and doing a more thorough analysis of what should be done and found that their inspection was inaccurate. I spent 7 hours dethatching my sod and then called them to cancel. I filled three 60 gallon bags from my <5000 sq ft yard, easily 1/2 inch of thatch throughout which was suffocating the St. Augustine. Their customer service did say that this did not sound right and tried to get me to give them another opportunity. Unfortunately, I told them that they were supposed to have already come and done one, but the tech never showed or offered an explanation as to their absence. They then refunded the remaining balance (I paid for a year and we only had the one treatment).

They made our lawn turn yellow and brown. They wanted to come back, but we would not let them.

TruGreen was doing OK for the first few years but then they failed to show in time to treat my St Augustine for chinch bugs and I lost a lot of my yard. They came out later and tried to save it but no success. My 2500.00+ investment was gone in one summer. I watered as required and followed their advice on everything. All it takes is a missed chinch bug treatment to lose your lawn in Central Florida. After spending 300+ every year with them, I believe I could have managed it better myself. These companies have a lot of turnover so someone different is treating your yard almost every time. I would say that they were always nice and did do a good job for the first few years. I cancelled my service with them and will not use them again. They are relentless in trying to get my business back but I will not repeat that mistake again. If you want your yard done right, you may just want to do it yourself and know that it is getting treated when needed. Once chinch bugs get started they are hard to stop.

They do an adequate service. Always trying to sell extras..cinch bugs, etc., but we keep to the original contract and feel that $53.00 per month is more than enough. Service men are always polite and do an adequate job. Not too responsive if we mention a problem area of the lawn, unless they feel they can sell us something extra.

I think they are doing an excellent job. When I moved down here there was a lot of sand in the yard. They brought it back real well.

We are very satisfied with them. They call us and make sure we are taken care of. They are really nice and they are neat. They call ahead of time. We have been using them for a couple of years.

Mike and Joe do my lawn and shrubs and they are excellent, very knowledgeable. They answer my questions. I really appreciate them. I would use them again in the future if needed.

I was given a 10% discount and another 10% discount for paying entire yearly bill up front. The total price was about half of what Massey quoted. I'm currently very pleased with going with Trugreen.

They were here on time. The quality of the work was good. They were just a little bit too expensive for us or maybe it was just that we couldn't afford it right now. We had to stop them from doing the shrubs and the trees just to keep the cost down. They did the shrubs and the trees for 4 or 5 months. We were going to cancel it but they asked if we would let them do the lawn and we said yes. I don't really know how much we spent. We didn't do any comparative shopping on the price. I guess they are not any more expensive than anybody else. We didn't have any negotiations for them to be responsive. They just scheduled the visits and came and sometimes we were here and sometimes we weren't.

I pay them every time they come. They are very pleasant. They are always here the day they say they will be here. They do try very hard to keep the pests down, which is almost impossible in Florida. They seem to know what they are talking about when we do discuss it. Someday we will figure out how I have a black spot on my Ligustrum. We are still working on that black spot because it has been there for quite a while. They do a good job. Their responsiveness is very good. They are very professional. They seem to know what they are doing. They can talk about the plants and they know the plants. They come when they are called all the time.

For the first few months everything was okay, TrueGreen did keep the weeds in control. During the winter of 2008-2009 we started noticing large brown spots forming in the lawn. They increased in number & size. We knew it was chinz bugs, but TrueGreen came and went 2 times and never mentioned the brown spots. They applied fertilizer but did not treat for bugs. After 4 months passed we called the office & complained. They sent the technician back out, I took off work and met him one morning. He told me we did not have chinz bugs, it was always the excuse we were either not watering enough, or the sprinklers were not doing their job. I hired the irrigation company to come tune everything up. I even bought measuring cups from Walmart and placed them all around the yard, to make sure it was getting enough water. The saga continued, at one point TrueChem told us to cover the yard with a load of dirt. Finally, in the summer of 2009 they diagnosed we had chinz bugs, and started treating the lawn. By that time the yard was a nightmare, frankly, I believe it was just too late. During our contract with them we called twice to cancel. Each time they pleaded with us to give them another chance. We said okay. You want to be fair. It's important to realize, 2009 was a bad year for chinz bugs in Florida. Due to increased restrictions by the EPA, lawn companies have had to change chemicals, the aersonal has been greatly reduced. I think we all understand that. Also, of course weather conditions affect your lawn every month. Long story short. The winter of 2009-2010 was a bad one in Central Florida. Excessive freezes, not good on St. Augstine lawns. My beef is due to the lack of attention by TrueGreen in the previous year, my lawn was in terrible shape going in to the winter, and bottom line, it did not survive. Even before the freezes, it was nearly half-dead. I'm talking huge areas of brown debris. TrueGreen kept saying, "oh, it will come back." NOT. Our irrigation timer went haywire in Feb. At that point we turned off the sprinklers and gave up. There was virtually no lawn left to worry about, why pay a water bill? I meant to call TrueGreen and cancel their services, but I forgot. Here's the funny part... they came and treated the lawn in April, in it's dead state. The technician wrote on the ticket "the lawn is in bad shape, needs total renovation." No sh-t Sherlock? Due to my procrastination, I was honest and paid the bill, but we fired them. Bottom line, we've been through three lawn control companies since 2003, but you need to avoid TrueGreen. They have nothing of value to offer. Get somebody local, or do it yourself. (That's easy to say!) I want a professional and I am willing to pay the price. We are now getting a whole new lawn installed, at a cost of about $5000. I don't totally blame TrueGreen, yet I feel their lack of professional service was definitely a contributing factor.

Was not happy with the service. They do NOT use granular fertilizer at all, and the overall lawn results were poor. There was no improvement from the service they performed.

OVERALL IN TERMS OF MY FEELINGS WITH THEM, I HAVE BEEN HAPPY OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THEM. I KEEP CALLING THEM BACK SO I MUST BE SATISFIED.

THE LAWN LOOKS WORSE NOW THEN WHEN WE STARTED WITH THEM A YEAR AGO. THEY MAKE ALL KINDS OF PROMISES, AND NOTHING HAPPENS. WE ARE NO LONGER USING THEM AS OF LAST MONTH. THEY KEPT A PROPER SCHEDULE AND CAME WHEN THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO. THEY JUST SAID THAT IF THEY WORKED ON THE LAWN IT WOULD LOOK BETTER, AND IT DOESN'T AT ALL.

THE RESULTS ARE NOT AS GOOD AS OTHER COMPANIES I HAVE SEEN IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. THE PRICE IS A FACTOR TO ME, SO IT IS REASONABLE. THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL. THEY GIVE ME A WRITTEN INVOICE OF WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, HOW MUCH WATER I SHOULD BE GIVING, WHAT THEY FOUND, AND WHAT THEY TREATED FOR. THEY ARE VERY DETAILED.

THEY ARE ADEQUATE. I DON'T HAVE TO CALL THEM. I HAVE HAD ONE INCIDENT WITH THEM IN THE PAST FOUR YEARS, AND THEY CAME RIGHT OUT AND TOOK CARE OF IT. WHEN COMPARING WITH OTHERS ON THE PRICE, THEY RAN ON THE SAME SCALE.

I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THEM. I HAVE USED THEM WITH MY OTHER HOMES. I HAVE USED THEM FOR 15 YEARS. I KEEP CARRYING THEM ALONG WITH ME WHEREVER I GO. I NOW LIVE IN DELTONA, AND THEY COME FROM DAYTONA TO DO THE WORK THAT I NEED DONE. I HAVE NEVER REALLY HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THEM.
