Description of Work: Replaced all rotted cedar around large triple dinning room window. Replaced trim at service door, vent and gutter board. All was replaced with PVC lumber. Repairs were excellent. Very professional. On time as promissed. Definately will have Solutions do future work. They are currently quoting stair rail replacement. One of the best handymen I have ever employed!!!

+ 1 moreWe contacted multiple garage door shops and none of them could re-create our door that had been damaged during a boxing match between my wife's car and the garage door (they both lost). Through Angies List we found Bob and from the get-go he was a "can do" contractor. We figured out what/how to get the door done and it is perfect. Bob went above and beyond to get the glass matched and custom made the trim himself. My wife was uber-complimentary about Bob and his helper regarding their manners, punctuality and work. THANKS BOB!
Description of Work: Had a very difficult task of repairing custom garage door and replacing window in the door. Specifically, Bob re-created a custom window with custom trim and made it match the existing windows (circa 1961) exactly!

+ 1 moreEverything was done as stated in the estimate and at the estimated price. Bob is very good to work with, and had a helper who was also very good. This is the second time we have used him, and have had a good experience both times.
Description of Work: Replaced rotted trim around 4 windows, replaced wood trim around service door and back door, replaced rotted gutter board and soffet + painted new boards, re-fastened rake board at roof peak, caulked several windows, caulked 3 roof vents (at no additional charge over the estimate).

+ 0 moreWe had used Bob for similar jobs in the past so I called him for an estimate on this job; he came out quickly and gave an estimate for the work and was able to do the job the following week; Bob and his helper called to let me know their schedule and came out as planned; they replaced the window, painted the outside of it (I planned to stain the interior myself) and replaced and repainted the required exterior trim boards and cleaned up afterwards; my wife commented favorably on the cleaniness; it was a hot day but they worked steadily and took care of the needed repairs.
Description of Work: As part of a list of repairs required by the buyer, we needed to repair/replace an octagon window in the master bath and several pieces of exterior trim around the house.

They were very reasonable in price and they quoted me correctly over the phone. They were a great company. I had to make one minor adjustment to the closet door after they left to make it open and close smoothly.

He came out the day after calling to give me an estimate for fixing the sagging floor, and he came back at the beginning of the next week and took care of the issue. His price was fair and he did a good job. I'm going to have him come back again later this month to fix an issue with my front door.
Description of Work: Bob fixed a sagging floor joist in the crawlspace and leveled a few doors in the house. He did a good job of explaining the issue and what the options were for taking care of the problem.

Description of Work: Bob, the owner, did a great job of repairing wood rot around windows. His detailed quote with pictures identifying the window rot repairs needed was excellent. I received three quotes on this job, but chose to award the repairs to a carpenter. This was a job for an experienced carpenter. I am 100% happy with the job.

The job site was left completely clean each time they left. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the owner and his employee and found them to be extremely reliable and customer oriented. Would highly recommend to others and plan on using for future jobs.

+ -1 moreWhen the house was built, a number of floor joists ended at a bearing wall and were nailed into a header. Over time several of the joists settled. One joist was raised to meet the sub-flooring and joist hangers were installed on all joists. In another part of the basement, wood wedges were placed between the joists and sub-flooring to eliminate squeaks.

This price included all caulking, and a primer coat of paint to all exterior surfaces (finish coat of paint would be an additional $800.00. All workmanship is guaranteed for one year. Price quoted includes a free 6 month evaluation of all repairs. Every effort was taken to protect and respect our property at all times. (shoe coverings and drop clothes where needed. All trash and debris was removed on a daily basis. Proof of liability insurance was obtainable upon request. All repairs are completed by the owner only. We were very happy with the workmanship and were very impressed by his willingness to work with us. We asked if he could deliver the primed materials so we could paint before installation. He moved the start time back to allow time to get materials to us and allow us time to paint. He loaned us sawhorses to paint and left ladders when needed to paint over nails etc that had to be painted after installation. He was more than helpful and considerate of our landscaping, etc. We would hire him again without hesitation.

Caulked 2 wide casement window, replaced left and right vertical trim, nosing and mull cap; 2 wide upper casement window; caulked. Replaced 1x6 cedar trim and 1st course of siding. Upper 2 wide, right of chimney; caulked. Replaced 1x6 cedar trim and 1st course of siding. Lower 2 wide casement window, right of chimney. Replaced left and right vertical trim, nosing and mull cap. Replaced dweatherstripping on right sash. Upper 2-wide casement window: Caulked, replaced 1st course of siding below. Kitchen side window. Replace left and right vertical trim and nosing on sill. + -1 moreStarted out fine, seems like a very nice man. I know all of his Angie's List reports are positive, that's why I hired him. We had some miscommunication on this project and it didn't work out well for us, that's all. Your experience may be quite different. Here's our experience. The framing for a closet was fine and the trim work was ok. We had a disagreement over two access doors that were to be built to allow access to attic from bonus room. He will rebut that he did what we asked and didn't charge for them since he neglected to include them on the quote. It is true that he didn't charge for them, but what is also clear is that he should have included the panels in the quote, and I made the mistake of assuming they were in the bid for the job. As it turns out, my take is that because of not having planned for them that he did the minimum to get by. The door panels were not close to the finished look that we were after for this room. The wood was split quite badly in places. To his credit, he told us he would redo them, but at more cost. I ended up ripping them out and rebuilding them myself. Not my trade, but I can do the work and they look great now. Of course I took additional vacation time and this negated why we wanted to hire the job out to begin with. Old adage holds true, you want a job done right, do it yourself.
