SOLUTIONS IN CARPENTRY

I located this company here on Angie's List. The owner answered when I called and was very polite and very quickly made an appointment for someone to come out and give me an estimate for the construction of a 10x4 loft in my garage for storage. Jim came out and was very polite as well and gave me the quote. I immediately hired them and they came out the following week to complete the job. Jim came with another employee and they did an outstanding job. It looks great in the garage and was very well built. They communicated along the way to make sure it was shaping up like I wanted as well. They were very efficient and finished the job very quickly. I was very satisfied with this company and will certainly use them again for any future carpentry needs.

This work was contracted due to the inspection report after I sold my home. I have used Solutions in Carpentry several times over the last several years and have always been very satisfied with their work. I had great confidence they would do their normal excellent and complete job for the new owners.

We couldn't be happier. We'd highly recommend them as they care about their clients and do high quality work which can be so hard to find these days. If you need carpentry work done, please let them give you an estimate.

Basically, the job was to rebuild a rotted window support structure. Personnel were professional, timely and the actual cost was as predicted in the estimate. If the need ever arises, I will not hesitate to use Solutions in Carpentry.

This was a six day project. They were careful to match the wood with the existing wood that we have. They were professional with everything they did. They were kind and just excellent.

They were fantastic. Their pricing was a bit on the high side, but not too much. They were very good. They did exactly what we wanted and exactly the way we wanted it. Everything turned out perfect. Their quality was great and they were very professional. They were in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I have no complaints.

Company was professional and punctual on the estimate. In fact, we got busy and forgot to respond to the e-mailed estimate and they followed up to remind us and discuss the job further if necessary. We made some changes to the scope of work (my wife did) so the deposit amount increased. I wrote the deposit check based on the original estimate but they told me not to worry and did not ask for additional deposit funds to start the work. I thought that was very nice and trusting of us, the customers. Work started when they stated it would and they gentlemen who showed up to do the work (who was not the owner or the estimator we worked with) was efficient and very clean. The job took 3 days and you couldn't tell he had been there each night when he left. There were some joint caulking items that were missed that were a part of the proposal. They immediately admitted and came the very next day to rectify and do a thorough inspection to make sure we were satisfied with the work. When you hire someone to do a job, you expect it to be done and that is what you pay for. But, people are human and things will be missed/overlooked. I always judge a contractor on how they recognize those mistakes and rectify the issue. They definitely got an "A" on that by returning the very next day. Nice job. They were not the lowest bid we got, but based on their knowledge and other reports we chose them. It worked great. I have some other ideas in my head and will be calling them later this year to discuss those.

Arrived on time and were very courteous . They did excellent work and their price was lower than the other estimates I received.

I couldn't have been more pleased with their work! Jim is a great guy, he shows up early and does the job right. He will stay on the job until the homeowner is pleased/satisfied, and he asks to make sure. The cost seemed a little steep, but at the time of his estimate I had called two other companies to come out, one came but I'm still waiting for the estimate and the other wasn't all that interested. In the end, I love my new doors and will have Jim back for future work.

He showed up when promised, was professional in his analysis of the problem, upfront about when he could get it scheduled. We just decided to use another company because his quote for similar work was higher and did not include the paint touch up included in the other quotes. I would certainly consider him for other work

Solutions in Carpentry (hereinafter SIC) are two partners, Bob Rennier and Jim Stapert. In November 2012 I has obtained a quote for window repair from a larger firm, but decided to get another quote from this firm whom I found in Angies List. Jim went over all of the windows and obvious areas of siding that were rotting, prepared a detailed quote together with photos of each area. I felt him to be more knowledgeable than the other firm's representative, whose office subsequently called me to offer a lower price when they learned they had competition. With minor differenced in the work needed to repair nine windows the prices quoted by both firms were approximately the same. SIC started the job as promised in March and completed it in a few days. They were punctual in arriving each day and respectful of our property both inside and out, and cleaned up thoroughly after their work. Jim and or Bob explained the extent of any additional work that was required when further water damage was found in siding. I have owned several houses over the past fifty years and am familiar with construction. Both Jim and Bob have evidently had extensive experience in construction, with an emphasis on carpentry. I am very pleased I selected them to do the work and will undoubtedly use them for any similar carpentry that may be needed in future.

They were very nice, businesslike, and handled everything well.

He did a fabulous job. He is really a framer and he frames houses. I had these beams in my study, I showed it to him and told him I wanted the same thing in my bedroom, with a ceiling fan in the center and it turned out to be really classy. He did an outstanding job. He was quiet, we never heard anything, and he was very clean and kept everything neat and tidy. It took him about three days and he did a superb job. I would definitely recommend him to anybody who wanted any kind of carpentry work or framing done. I would definitely use him again. If the house is ever going to fall down, the bedroom is going to stand because he just did it superbly. I got different quotes, he was close, and within my budget, so I thought I should try him and he just turned out great.

Repaired two wood windows with extensive rot damage including paint primer on new wood materials. One window repair included the removal and and reapplication of a several foot long flower box. The work was completed in one day and should extend the life of these windows by several years.Other estimates received required the replacement of the windows at about three to four times the cost of the repairs.

Bob does great work - professional and on-time. I have used him for many house repair projects and he has always been reliable and fair in everything he does.

First met with Jim Stapert on 7/23/12. Paint was bubbling and peeling from exterior concrete board on the back wall of my house. He indicated that he would need to get into the wall to determine if water was getting in and, if so, determine how and where it was getting in. His quote outlined several scenarios, depending upon what was found. He also included two separate methods to fix the water penetration, one being less expensive than the other. He indicated that the less expensive route would be totally satisfactory but that the more expensive fix would be, from a carpentry standpoint, a more correct way of fixing the problem. With my husband's substantial knowledge in the area of carpentry, we chose the more comprehensive fix at the higher cost. However, we were not pressured into this decision. Jim let me know that the company was booked with work through September. However, I was very impressed with Jim's overall assessment, presentation, and communication abilities. Coupled with the excellent Angie's List reviews I read, I felt it was worth the wait. Work was delayed further due to the weather. The work was performed October 10, 11, 12 and completed on the 15th. The finished product looks wonderful! I also became acquainted with the company owner, Bob Rennier, during the work. Jim & Bob are a good team and work very well together. They are both quite knowledgeable in carpentry and take pride in superior workmanship. They were very easy to work with and my questions to them were never a problem. Overall, this was an excellent experience and I will, no doubt, call upon their services in the future.

They are very dependable, honest, reliable and did a very good job. They are also very professional. I would definitely recommend them.

They are some of the best carpenters I've ever seen. They knew what they were doing. They came out and looked at it, he told me when he would come out and when he'd be there. He gave me a price and I told him a couple of things I wanted done and he did it. I said I wanted it primed with oil-based primer before they came out and they did this for me. They arrived on time at 8:30 am. They used scaffolding instead of ladders so they wouldn't damage the house. They also put blocks down for the scaffolding so they wouldn't put holes in the ground. They did an excellent job.

Bob is easy to work with, wants to fully understand the project and is truly a pleasure to work with. I wish I had more work for him as he is so kind and reasonable. I enjoyed having him in our Geist home and would refer him to friends and family in a New York minute. If you are considering someone to do work for you, please do not hesitate to call Bob!!!! Kudos to Bob for making our kitchen a warm and inviting space that we enjoy everyday!

We got three bids for repairs on our windows, all top-rated on Angie's List. I met with Bob Rennier from Solutions in Carpentry, and he told me he'd go ahead and inspect the windows and send me his estimate by email, so I came back into the house and let him do his work. Based on average price per window, his bid was slightly lower in price than the company we chose, but he found three fewer windows needing repair. I was asked to accompany the rep from the company we did choose, and I was actually shown the windows that needed repair work, so I knew damaged windows were missed on Bob's inspection. Because of that, we chose the other company. The third company, again top-rated on Angie's, was $2,000 higher on his bid than the first two, with even fewer windows found, so he wasn't even considered.

Very quick response, Bob Rennier came to see the repairs needed, took photographs and gave me an estimate the very next day, by email. We agreed on price and scheduled a time for him to come fix the windows. He was fully booked but it was worth to wait a couple of weeks. Service was done as agreed, he came back to paint the next day. The quotes I've received for the same service varied from 10,000 (replacement of windows) to 6,000 (some replacement, some repair) to 2,500 (only repair) to 1,400 with Solutions in Carpentry. Very good job done at the fair price.
