We bought a home that had been vacant for six years. All trees surrounding the property needed to be trimmed, and several had to be taken down. SB Tree Service was wonderful from the moment I called to schedule an estimate, to the time when the work was completed. Although I got several bids, David at SB was the only one to provide a very detailed quote that listed everything needed. We ultimately chose SB and were pleased with their professionalism throughout every aspect of the job. David was an excellent project manager who made sure I was in agreement with each task as it was performed. Workers were courteous and respectful of our property.

I met with Todd, the estimator, on Monday March 16. He said he had an open slot that Friday, so we negotiated a price and I committed. He said they'd call Thursday night to let me know what time Friday they'd be there. They didn't---I had to track this information down Friday morning---hence the "B" for responsiveness. I eventually found out Friday morning that they'd be there that morning, which fit my schedule perfectly. They arrived in force on time with about 8 guys and at least 4 vehicles. It was an impressive display of manpower. They first tackled the 2 dead trees in back, 30 to 40-foot pines that would wipe out a bedroom if they fell west. The first went down quickly and they cleaned it up. The second was trickier because they had to thread the needle between a live holly tree next to it, and a stand of tall pines at the back of the property line. They hit it perfectly, missing the holly tree and landing it about 4 feet from the other trees. They ground the stumps and everything looks great. Meanwhile, Todd pointed out that an oak tree off the back corner of the patio was hanging very close to the shingles and should be cut back some to protect the roof. I agreed, and we added it to the work plan. I directed one of the guys who removed branch by branch until it was just right. Trimming some branches from a tall palm tree off the front corner of the house was on the original work plan, and they did that. We ended up trimming more off than I'd originally planned, but they pruned at my direction, with me there okaying each frond cutting. The third tree they trimmed was a 20-year old oak in the front year that had never been trimmed, and was beautiful and healthy but just too low. I was nervous about trimming this because it was full, healthy, and had a great canopy, but its lower branches blocked the view of the house. The owner Sean and I had an extensive discussion about this tree, with Angelo there listening. I wanted the canopy raised, but did not want the diameter of the canopy reduced. Basically, I wanted to solve the "too low" problem but not go beyond that. They recommended that we do that and also clean the tree's interior of dead branches, etc., and I agreed. Sean assigned Angelo to the task. Angelo did a great job, and I could tell that he and Sean took pride in the tree and really wanted to do their best work on it. At one point while Angelo was in the tree near the front, another worker came up the rear of the tree and started trimming branches. I saw him nip about 2 feet off the end of a branch and was trying to process why he'd cut it, when I saw him reach up with his chainsaw and cut 4 to 5 feet off the end of another branch that had no business being cut. I was about to say something when Sean hollered from across the street and stopped him from doing any more damage. He'd not been part of my conversation with Sean and Angelo, and he must not have known the plan since his action was in direct contradiction to that plan. The canopy is now asymmetrical, being higher and having a shorter radius on the house side than on the street side. The only saving grace is that the gash is on the house side. The tree looks perfect from the street, but from my driveway or the neighbor's house the mistake is pretty obvious. Everything else was done perfectly, and my "quality" grade of "B" reflects a balance between the irreversible mistake on the front-yard oak tree and the high quality of everything else. All the guys were great to work with, friendly, and aimed to please. With the one exception above, they seemed to be experienced, knowledgable, and efficient.

The Sales Manager facilitated Community Association agreement to cut down the two diseased palm trees. The two trees were expertly removed without damaging surrounding vegetation. The other three palms were expertly trimmed to the owner's specification. A large live oak and a smaller oak were expertly trimmed. All debris was removed.

They do a great job. I called in the morning and David showed up an hour later and gave me an estimate. His crew were there a few hours later and got the entire job done. I had used them a month before for a bigger job and they completed it perfectly to my liking. Whenever I call I get a live person, no recording, and they show up when they say they will. I highly recommend them.

I was extremely pleased with the whole job from beginning to end. They asked exactly what I wanted taken off before they would cut and were very careful not to destroy plants on the ground or trees that I wanted to save. The men were very courteous and well-mannered. The clean-up was excellent. No mess was left behind. They moved plants in pots and put them back when they were finished. Nothing was destroyed on the ground and for that, I was very thankful. I would highly recommend them and already have to my neighbors. The price was very fair and less than 3 other estimates plus the 10% off for being on Angie's List. 100% satisfied.

I phoned SB Tree Service on Saturday, 9/20/14, to request an estimate on tree work on our property. In just short of an hour (!!!) a young man named David arrived to look over our property and provide us with an estimate. That was already very impressive in my book. David was terrific. He was friendly, courteous, and very professional. We went around the property and he made some very helpful suggestions. We agreed on the price and it was right in the ball park of what we were hoping for. They even gave us a 10% Angie’s List discount! Normally speaking, we would have asked for one or two other companies to provide estimates, but after seeing the reviews for SB Tree Service on Angie’s List, we saw where some of the other reviewers had already done that work for us. We agreed on the price and were told that they could do the work on Monday or Tuesday since they already had another job scheduled in the neighborhood. On Monday morning, 9/22/14, David was at my door with a crew of workers who were ready to get started. I couldn’t believe how quick all this took place! The work crew was exceptional. They worked very well with each other and were friendly, courteous, and very professional! There were two tree climbers who did an absolutely amazing job climbing the huge oak trees to get to the dead limbs. Other workers were on the roof helping to guide the branches down safely. Others were on the ground picking up the limbs and taking them out to the wood shredder out front. The crew of workers did an exceptional job and really went beyond the call of duty to make sure we were happy with the job they had done. Special kudos and thanks go out to one worker in particular (I wish I had gotten his name) who really hung in there and was a true superman! The cleanup went like clockwork – quick and professional. A top-notch experience in every way! Job well done SB Tree Service!!!

The experienced crew showed up on time and confidently went to work. I was impressed with their teamwork and their abilities to do this dangerous work with such precision. Climbing out onto limbs that were clearly unsafe, they roped, cut and dropped limbs with pinpoint accuracy. The huge pine tree came down the same way, exactly where he wanted it to drop. The ground crew kept pace with the clean up and when everything was done, the area was cleared of any debris and the lawns were raked as well. I would definitely use SB Tree Service again should the need arise, and I'm sure it will with these water oaks.

We finally found a tree service that did what we wanted. SB TREE SERVICE knows about customer service. When Sean came to give us an estimate, we told him what we wanted done. We also explained the problem that we had with another tree service and hoped that he wouldn’t do the same . Sean explained to us that his men DO NOT cut anything until we tell them how we want them cut. When his 5 men showed up they did exactly that. My husband went through every tree and shrub and explained to them how he wanted them. They didn’t leave until we were 100% satisfied with the job. I would recommend Sean’s SB TREE SERVICE without any reservations. He’s a good guy and knows the true meaning of customer service.

SB Tree Service did an outstanding job as usual. This is our third time having Sean and his team remove trees and large brush from our home and his company was professional and prompt. They are the only company I will use!

My experience with SB Tree service was extremely positive!! Sean came and gave me a quote, for a large amount of yard tree trimming. He and his team arrived the next day, and delivered on all of the agreed upon trimming. There were several large trees that were covering the lanai, and I was concerned that some of the limbs when trimming could fall onto, this did not happen. The lanai is now tree free and fabulous !! Also the workers were all courteous and hard working. They arrived in 2 - 3 trucks and all the tree trimmings were raked up and disposed of. Thanks !!

They were punctual, polite and did more than I had expected. They raked up after themselves and left the property just the way it was minus what I didn't want. I was very happy with their services!!

We are having a new drain field installed and a humongous Sweet Gum's tree roots were interfering. The tree was around 30 years old, 40 ft tall with a huge trunk and several huge branches as the tree divided as it grew. I went to SB's website and sent a message that we were looking for a quote and quick service. I received a call back and within 1 1/2 hour Sean Black was at our house. His estimate was $1100 and he agreed to cut down a Sycamore tree also. That was on Thursday and Monday his company cut down the trees, chipped the small stuff, hauled away the large stuff, and cleaned up all of the mess. They were quick, efficient, polite and an extremely hardworking group of men. We will be using SB again as we asked Sean to look at huge trees in our backyard that we want to get trimmed or cut down. We definitely will use SB Tree Service again.

So a 25' tree, on my property, fell, roots and all, into my neighbor's yard. Yikes! I searched Angie's list for tree services, and saw SB was highly rated. I called. The guys were in the middle of a big job, but promised to come. About two hours later they showed up. Apparently they didn't realize that this was a big job, and I wanted it done NOW (around an hour or two before dusk.) If the tree had fallen in my yard I would have waited, but it didn't. They guys went and got the appropriate equipment (chipper and bigger truck). Within an hour of arriving with the equipment the tree was gone! The guys did a great job of cleaning up, making sure that little was left of the fallen tree. I would definitely use SB again!

punctual, clean crew, polite, professional ; when they were done with the job the area was completely cleaned up, no leftover leaves and branches. I will hire them again when I have tree work to be done.

The job went as scheduled and everything progressed as it should have with professional workers. They cleaned up the debris very thoroughly.

They did a very good job of keeping the tree well rounded while trimming it sufficiently so that there is enough air flow through the tree to keep it from being a threat during a hurricane. They removed all of the trimmings on the spot, blew off the left over leaves and left everything looking good.

insurance and License were up to date... Chainsaw/tree climber was agile and professional and used all proper safety equiptment. 2nd man held ropes and ensured that branches did not hit house. He also was in charge of the "chipper"..very safety conscious... 3rd employee worked diligently,making sure yard was clean from debris...
