Mary Casel from Mary Lynn Realty helped me with renting of my Daytona condo. She is very efficient - answered my emails and calls quickly. Made suggested changes to brochures and rental postings immediately. Worked with me to establish my renting license for Florida taxes. She assisted me by answering the numerous questions I had in regards to renting my condo. I highly recommend Mary Casel / Mary Lynn Realty if you need a Rental Management company .
Description of Work: I live out of town and needed an agency to manage the renting of my condo in Daytona

Finding a place to stay and getting the paperwork ready went OK. We had to fill in an application for them to get background information, which I guess is standard in FL. They had several fees: a cat fee (or 2 because we have 2 cats), an application fee, ... When we visited the place that we liked, we found a few things that were not quite right for a place to be rented: it wasn't very clean, a fan/light fixture was not installed, some outlets were detached from the wall, the fridge was probably 15+ years old (not exaggerating)... Details that we asked to be fixed before we moved in, and which we thought were reasonable. Most of them were taken care of at the last minute before we moved in, including the fridge, which was refurbished, and ended up having a water leak, so they ended up having to get it fixed after we moved in. The day of the check in, I asked for an extra set of keys, for a remote control for the garage door, and for a mailbox key. I also asked to have a table removed that was left there by the owner of the house, and which I didn't need. It was a massive table with a granite top. We never saw the keys, when I called they said I could just get them and deduct the price from my rent, which I did, only to receive a call to tell me I couldn't do that.... Very confusing and disappointing. Moreover, they had a local business come to remove the table (after several phone calls to get it done). When they came, they dropped the granite top, breaking it as well as some of my furniture. No compensation offered whatsoever by the people picking up or by the realtor. Fast forward 2 years when time comes to move out. I let them know 60 days before, and during the last month, they start calling me to let me know when people will be visiting... using the wrong phone number! Meaning that they came to show the house without warning. I had told them I should be done moving out about 10 days before the end of the month, and that I'd confirm when I'm ready to give back the keys. I finished moving out on a Friday, except for a few empty boxes that I didn't have time/space to remove before leaving. I went back the following Wednesday to check that I had everything and to pick up the empty boxes before I gave them back the keys (that was still 8 days before my lease ended), only to realize that someone had been in the house without my knowledge: the fridge had been moved, the stove drawer removed, one of my potted plants that I had forgotten outside had disappeared as well as one of the owner's plants. I went to the office pretty mad, because the house was still mine at that point, only to be given lame excuses saying that within 30 days, as per the lease they have the right to enter the house at any time (NOT true). It turns out that the owner of the agency had assumed that I had given the keys back and that now they were free to do what they wanted. I didn't get a proper walk through with the agency, since they moved stuff while I still had the key, there was no way of knowing if they had done some damage. The sad thing is, I had to threaten to call the police (after all, someone had accessed my place without my authorization and taken some of my stuff, that's entering, not breaking since they had the key). Before I did so, it was as if nothing important had happened. I ended up giving the keys back the next day, after more complaints and some excuses from them. I said I didn't want to pay for any damage that they found in the house (there was nothing that wasn't normal wear and tear). They did give me my full deposit back except for a cleaning fee (was included in lease so I couldn't complain). Overall, terrible experience, I know they say it's not how they usually conduct business, that I'm the exception, but it seems like a lot happened just to me, I would be surprised if I was the only one with a bad experience.
Description of Work: I was looking for a place to rent, moving from NM to FL. I came for a few days, and asked them to show me the properties they had for rent.

Description of Work: Help us find a house to rent. Didn't think we would get approved because my Credit wasn't the greatest but we both have steady jobs and background is clean. we have been looking places to rent for some time now. So when they called us and said we was approved I was shocked because we have been turned down before because of my credit. Super nice people who work with u to get what you want.
